i used to hear a simple songthat was until you came along. |
Edward Lister was a man of few and fine pleasures. Promenades being one of them if the company was agreeable. There was something quite charming about walking and talking without many distractions. "Come with us tomorrow morning, how bad can it be after all?" William had proposed last evening in the Gentlemen's club and Edward was left with a conundrum. Whilst he enjoyed the company very much he feared he might have unwanted runs ins with certain people he'd rather not to. It defeated the purpose of not calling in the first place...and yet here he was. Lord Alvanley was always smartly dressed, there was something about appearing presentable that had always struck a nerve in him. Maybe it was an old habit born out of fear of repercussions from his father's severe opinion but alas it was a good habit indeed. He walked slowly, sharp blue eyes searching for his friend in red. It didn't take long to find the whole group. William, his sister-in-law and cousin, the one Edward dreaded to see not from embarrassment but out of inconvenience. William's cousin Clara had this habit of getting what she wanted and if she seeped a match out of her acquaintance with Edward she got far less than that. He approached them slowly, a small smile on his lips, "Alvanley!" his friend greeted him with a thunderous voice and a bright grin. Edward greeted his friend with a firm handshake and a pat on the shoulder, William was always a close friend. One he trusted with pretty much everything. Turning to his right there were three ladies before him: Clara and her haughty self, William's sister in law and someone Edward had never met before. His eyes lingered on that young lady, breath getting caught at the back of his throat, his smile idle upon his lips. William made the introductions, his tone as always firm and to the point. "You already know my sister in law, and my cousin Clara-" he said with some hint of excitement for what's to come, "Good evening, my ladies…" Edward greeted them with a small bow and a tip of his hat, "And may I introduce you to Miss Georgina Pelham." there it was. A name. His heart stumbled, he bowed again, "Pleasure to make you an acquaintance, Miss Pelham." the tone of his voice is a warm rich timbre. He tried to keep his eyes from lingering on her though it was quite hard to do so. She was quite beautiful with long red hair sensibly pinned up, her skin alabaster white only tainted by constellations of freckles scattered across it, the most beautiful soulful hazel eyes he had ever laid his eyes upon. tagged Georgina Fleet |
