She knows what is needed of her given her stature and upbringing, but she does not allow it to play a role when it comes to how she interacts with certain individuals. She is respectful, though do not step on any of her toes or rattle her tail because she would easily retaliate. However, despite the boulder she puts up before her, she can be kind and will embrace others, particularly her servants.

Leila was born to an influential family in Lebanon called the Khazens. They were under Ottoman Rule and the family owned an estate in Baalbeck. She was the sole heiress to the title due to her mother's difficulties in conceiving children. She was more of the miracle child and though she had some freedom to do as she pleased, such as marry at a later period, she was aware of her duty to do so to not only bring pride to the family name, yet to also not end up an old maid.

She grew up surrounded by servants and governesses, as well as tutors in different arts and languages, such as French, German, Italian, and Arabic. Though she wasn't permitted to attend university due to her sex, she still used her time as a younger child searching through her family's extensive library and teaching herself in astrology -- which happens to be her favourite subject to speak about.

Due to their familial connections in London, the Khazens own a home in Grosvenor Square which they visit quite often, but she never truly joined society due to her young age. They have strong bonds with nobility and due to their decision to widen their preferences when it comes to marriage, she has newly arrived as a fresh face to join the London's season, accompanied by her mother while her father joins every so often.
