With Simon's world changing, and his wife at the center of it, he knew that he needed to begin sorting out his dealings abroad so that he could better focus them in England--and London. So he needed to make a short stint to Clydesdale to retrieve a deed, and a close a few travel accounts.
As he did not plan to be gone long, his wife was not joining him. He rather not have her jostled all the way out there and all the way back for such a short trip. He would spend only a night there; as he did not wish to leave her side long.
Thus, after heading his new sister needed a escort to to the country, he offered to take her to Aubrey Hall himself. Which was why he was currently walking up to the Bridgerton door very early in the morning to collect her.

Frannie had missed much of this season and she only knew about her sister Daphne's courtship with the Duke from Lady Whistledown and her family's gossiping among them. This made her very curious to meet the man who had changed her sister into a lovesick puppy. The change in Daphne seemed quite extraordinary, it was something right out of the romance novels that Frannie loved to read secretly. Now she was going to get a change to spend time with the Duke alone.
She had gotten up early to make sure that all her things were packed and that she was dressed appropriately. Now she was quickly eating her breakfast before the trip and when she heard the Duke announced she grinned. Hello your grace, thank you again for accompanying me.

Simon was announced and shown to the breakfast table. As he walked in the Middle(ish) Bridgerton looked up at him and greeted him. Simon nodded his head in a slight acknowledgement of her thanks as he approached. "It is always a pleasure to escort pretty ladies were they need to know." He told her in his normal slow cadence. Simon only ever spoke when he had full control over his voice and knew there would be no studder. Which often lead to him speaking low and slightly slower in tone than his peers.
"And if we are to spend two days in a carriage to our location, you must call me Simon." Two days of her calling him 'your grace' would be a lot. If he was to embrace the family life, as he promised his wife he would, then he could begin by letting some of the formalities ease.
Simon noticed she was still eating breakfast, so he gestured to a seat "May I?" He asked, not planning to hurry off until she was well fed. He did not like small talk, as he did not like talking, but he was here to try and be better.

Frannie took a sip of her tea as Simon sat down next to her and she smiled at him. Fine then I shall call you Simon, it is good to have another brother. I know that Daphne would approve of you as my escort. My mother was thrilled with the idea. She finished her tea then carefully dapped her lips with her napkin. She could tell that she was going to enjoy this trip but she wondered how comfortable Simon truly was with being her escort. I am done now, shall we being this journey? I must ask you before we start, do you like to play any traveling games? Her face was serious as she waited for his answer wondering if Daphne might have warned him about her and their siblings antics when they were bored trapped in a carriage for hours.

Simon took his seat and declined the offer of tea from a servant who offered it. He had already eaten and knew better than to eat heavy or drink a lot before a long ride. There were not many places to stop, and while he did not mind going on the side of the road--he did not intend to do so before his young sister-in-law.
He was used to the Bridgerton Brigade--mostly--by this point, and enjoyed their warm welcome of him into their family. However, he question of playing games caught him off guard. Simon had no younger siblings, nor had he spent a large amount of time around other children when he was younger. He was not sure he had ever played traveling games. "I can not say I have ever played some." He admitted, and waited for her to stand before he would stand up. @

Frannie almost laughed when Simon said he didn't know any traveling games. I will being our cribbage, some cards and a few good books. That should help us to pass the time. She smiled and had her ladies maid fetch the games for them. There now we are ready, shall we go?
