Tag: @polinshipper82 i will ALWAYS PROTECT YOU Anthony had mixed feelings about Aubrey Hall. It was once the place where the Bridgerton family would spend a great deal of their time; a place filed with joyful memories, laughter and so much more. But it was precisely those memories, that made coming back here difficult. For they were ones that greatly included Edmund. Anthony came only when necessary for maintenance and ensuring all was well. But the visits to Aubrey Hall were more infrequent than when Edmund was alive. So coming here, held that difficulty for the Viscount. But a decade of swallowing back his emotions for the sake of his family certainly came in handy when now having to host an event that his mother had set in motion. He knew the intention behind it of course, but Anthony would focus on one thing at a time
❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ He was currently in his room, taking a moment to himself before he would have to go back out there and continue to greet the guests, ensuring everyone was settled and that their accommodations were well met. When his door opened, Anthony turned to see who it was, assuming it was one of his family members otherwise the person would have surely knocked. But instead, he saw Miss Bishop enter, and seeming to . . . remain. Well, this was peculiar indeed. There was no reason for her to come to his room unless of course, this was a mistake. Nor would he wish her to be compromised if found out that she entered the Viscount's bedroom.
❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ She did not yet seem to notice him until she closed the door, and Anthony made his own presence known. "Miss Bishop," he greeted politely, clasping his hands behind his back. "Is there something I can assist you with?" A slight underlying tone of teasing to indicate that there was no offense in her being in his chamber. Especially since -- as he previously established -- he was fairly certain that her being here was a mistake,

Tag: @lucygranville Note: Better layout coming soon! i will ALWAYS PROTECT YOU This . . . was far worse than Anthony expected. He'd thought it a lustful affair -- which was bad enough -- but now she was saying that she had feelings for Benedict. That she remained stubborn in her desire to continue to see him and . . . that she would never hurt him. "You are married," he stated, as if that needed reminding. "What of your husband?" What of Henry? What about the promises she made to him on their wedding? But, Henry was not the focus here and Anthony would not get involved in the business of exposing this affair to him. That was between Lucy and her husband.
❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ But, the mere fact that she was married and yet spoke of Benedict in such a way . . . it left Anthony highly unsettled. "To what end will you continue this?" He questioned, legitimately curious for an answer. The dishonor in their actions as bad enough and yet . . . now they had developed feelings for one another> "You say you will not hurt him but you are already doing so," Anthony continued. "Do you not see that?" His tone curious to see if she was truly blind to it. If this, infatuation had blinded them both. "The longer you continue this, the stronger these . . . emotions will be. And then what? You are a wedded woman. You can not promise him a life beyond sneaking around in stolen moments." And . . . she was married!
❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ "If you truly cared for him, you would release your hold on him so that he may find an eligible woman and create a family of his own." Because, he would not be able to do that with Lucy. "Do you not wish him to find that happiness?" When it came to matters of his siblings, he was unafraid to hold back. The difference here was that he could not challenge her to a duel nor allow his fists to give way to words. Instead, he had to verbalize the absurdity of their arrangement and hope that one of them would see sense and bring this to its inevitable end.

i will ALWAYS PROTECT YOU Things were going according to plan . . . and rather splendidly at that. His engagement to Elizabeth was solidified and there was not a person who was displeased with the arrangement. Everyone was in high spirits about it as it allowed their families to unite in a way they never had before. Through the union of marriage. And Anthony was pleased with it as well. She would make a fine viscountess and he believed a good wife, as well as mother when the time would come for children. During the period of courting her they had gotten to know one another on a level that aided in eliminating any uncertainty as to whether they were suitable for one another. For, he knew that she would have made it quite clear if she was uninterested in becoming his wife. She was not one to hold her tongue.
❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ He was making his way through the hallway when a door suddenly flew open and he abruptly paused, to see it was Elizabeth. And that she mistook him for someone else, having thought that he was her maid. His expression remained serious, despite her smile as she spoke, and he slightly leaned forward, dropping his voice. "What is it that alluded you to the fact that I was not?" He joked, the seriousness replaced with a smile in return to hers. Knowing that they were to be wed, allowed him a certain . . . ease. His words having teased what gave him away as not being her maid set to rest as she then asked him to aid her. "Certainly," he agreed as he reached out for the necklace. Once placed in his hand he moved to stand behind her, draping the necklace around her neck and holding each end in either hand.
❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ As they were now engaged, it surely would be fine to accept such a request. "My familiarity with women's jewelry has finally come of better use, other than to assist my sisters countless of times," he said somewhat jokingly . . .though not without truth. Although, putting this on for Elizabeth certainly felt different, obviously. A seemingly causal gesture suddenly holding a stronger intimacy, as Anthony had to lean forward to see the tiny clasp better in order to close it . . . and in doing so, lessened the distance between him and Elizabeth.
❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ His eyes focused on the back of her neck now, and not so much the item, thinking of how soft her skin was, how it would taste . . . and how he only needed to lean a little more forward to answer both these questions, which seemed to keep him rather still and paused in the initial reason for standing behind her to begin with. In all the focus of courting her and proposing . . . he realized that he had not given himself time to properly appreciate her beauty, not the desire that he felt for her.

Tag: @lucygranville Note: Better layout coming soon! i will ALWAYS PROTECT YOU Anthony silently followed her to where they entered a room, and once she was seated, he sat himself. Her words were immediate that of well, coldness. It was not difficult to sense in her tone, nor the accusation in them. He remained quiet, despite his disagreement. She was incorrect. It was not pride that brought him here. And she finished her words with reference to Siena. No. This was not about him. It never was about him. And when he had tried to find that glimpse of doing something for himself -- being with Siena -- his mother informed him that he needed to be the man of the house. For the sake of his sister.
❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ So whatever it was that Siena said, she even still . . . did not know him. He remained quiet, having hoped this could be a civil conversation. It would be difficult though, when the lady of the house made so many assumptions and presumed to know who he was. But, she could not possibly understand. Her husband was a second son and thus, she did not see him have to bare the responsibilities of an heir, or even one forced to step into that role.
❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ When she appeared to be finished, Anthony processed her words to decide where to begin. "I must disagree with you,," he began. "What happens between two people, is not their business alone when it can have detrimental effects on ones entire family." If word got out that Benedict was bedding a married woman, it would tarnish the Bridgerton name and in doing so . . . make it difficult for his dear sisters especially. They would be shunned and no suitors would seek out the Bridgerton daughters. Such, was the society they lived in. "And this is not about me," he added, referencing her lastly spoken words.
❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ Siena had nothing to do with this. Anthony was not here on behalf of himself or for his own sake . . . he was here for the sake of his family. "What is it that you hope to gain from this, affair you have with my brother?" Anthony asked, mindful that despite his disagreement, he was still in the presence of a lady, so kept his tone even, without anger. But it was also a way to open the conversation to explain her perspective. "If the ton was to hear of this, it would not only ruin the standing of your family, but also, of mine. And that, Mrs. Granville, is why I am here." His family was his responsibility and he would not have the Bridgertons compromised.

Tag: @lucygranville Note: Better layout coming soon! i will ALWAYS PROTECT YOU Anthony could not allow this any longer. He had recently discovered that Benedict and Lucy Granville had started . . . frequently seeing one another. Ordinarily, Anthony would not involve himself in such private affairs where his brother's personal business was concerned. However, the exception came when it compromised their family. When it compromised the future of their sisters and brothers who still had yet to be wed. It was why Anthony had injected himself in this matter, firstly by approaching the woman.
❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ He did not know the Granville's well, their paths not frequently crossing. But he hoped that she would understand his intentions and the sensitivity of the issue. Anthony was not one to go to her husband to inform him of this . . . affair. He did not want to cause such trouble so knew it best that they end things before anything else got out. Before the ton got wind of this scandal that would tarnish both the Granville and Bridgerton name.
❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ When she answered the door Anthony greeted her politely, before she asked why he hadn't he -- presumably Benedict -- talk to her himself. It was a valid question and one that Anthony would provide her answer to. "Because he does not know I have come." Anthony would surely tell Benedict, but right now, but he wanted it to be after the fact. "I was hoping to speak to you alone." Meaning, without anyone else present . . . especially her husband.

Tag: @misspenf Note: Better layout coming soon! i will ALWAYS PROTECT YOU If there was one thing that could be said of Lady Danbury, it was that she certainly knew how to host an event. She often was the one who opened the season and the ton knew that it would indeed be a perfect wa to kick things off. Of course, it was not uncommon for her to host more than one event during the season. Despite his minimal events to avoid her -- all in good fun of course -- or to be on guard at her approaching, he could not deny the friendship that she and his family held. They had all but conspired to help bring Daphne and Simon together after all.
❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ As Anthony's eyes scanned the crowd, he noticed Penelope standing by the lemonade bowl. Penelope did indeed have a special place in his heart. He did not like to see others mistreat her nor did he like to see her standing on her own. The same protective instinct that often consumed him when it came to taking care of one of his sisters. He approached the youngest Featherington daughter with a smile as she questioned the lemonade. Anthony smiled with amusement, pouring another cup for himself.
❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ Perhaps there was indeed something more in the beverage but it would be one of those things that no one spoke of. "Perhaps it is a medicine that will make evenings such as this more enjoyable," he joked. Yes, Anthony was indeed in a rather good and relaxed mood. "Is it working for you?" He asked a jokingly, continuing the light and comical topic of discussion. If he was to keep her company, he would prefer to do so in a way that would make her smile.

Tag: @edwinasharma1 Note: Better layout coming soon! i will ALWAYS PROTECT YOU You're paying a small price compared with what she's going through. Anthony had been in a panic . . . and perhaps he still was. But Kate was resting right now. Her maid was bathing her as best as she could given her circumstances, and so Anthony was impatiently waiting in the drawing room with Edwina, longing for the moment he could return to his wife's side. She had been treated for her leg but would be bed ridden for some time.
❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ The sight of the crashed carriage, and seeing her trapped within it was not one that would soon leave his memory. He felt only relief that Kate was still alive. That her leg would heal but . . . that did not make him wish he could spare her of any pain. They bad been brought tea and were discussing the accident, the events that had led them to this point. "You're paying a small price compared with what she's going through." Realizing how that sounded, he paused, irritated with himself but really . . . mostly angered at the man who was driving the carriage.
❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ A man who just so happened to be someone that Edwina apparently fancied. So Anthony wondered if he could truly express his anger toward him. "Apologies," he told her sincerely. "I am truly glad that you were not injured as your sister was." Kate has received the worst of the injuries out of the three of them. He was grateful that the others had not . . . as undeserving as Kate was of what she was going through as well.
