i will ALWAYS PROTECT YOU Anthony was not accustomed to upset woman. Growing up with four sisters, he was rather used to woman getting worked up in an argument and making sure they were heard. Elizabeth however, had a tendency of throwing things which . . . Anthony was not overly used to. The conversation had started somewhat calmly, and then slowly started to escalate. It was the first few weeks of their marriage and things were actually going quite well. Now of course, there was going to be the occasional spat or two that simply came with living with someone new and growing used to their habits and tendencies. A great deal of it learned only after marriage.
❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ So the conversation turned into a bit of an argument, their tones growing increasingly more serious and agitated. Now, Anthony was unsure as to whether she was actually going to throw something at him, especially as she was talking . . . so he quickly moved forward, prompting her to move a few steps backwards until her back was against the wall. His hands held either of hers against the wall, a gentle hold but one meant to deter her from being able to reach for anything.
❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ He was going to tell her to calm down, to stop talking . . . and yet, with their faces so close, mere inches apart, Anthony decided to take an entirely different approach when it came to silencing her. He closed the small distance between them, pressing his lips against hers in a heated kiss to express both his frustration with the conversation . . . but more dominantly, passion.

Tag: @ladyvlbridgerton & @francescab Note: Guys! I was thinking that maybe we should have a posting order so that no one falls behind? So like, maybe we can go in order of Violet, Francesca, Anthony ?? i will ALWAYS PROTECT YOU Anthony's eyes met his mothers as she gently reached out to hold his hand. He took in her words, offering to handle his affairs . . . suggesting taking a break. The mention of Aubrey Hall had Anthony forcing himself to maintain eye contact with his mother so not to give any indication of the emotional impact he felt at the location. Truth was, he had not visited often since their father's passing. Aubrey Hall had been such a lovely place to visit with the entire family as the spent time away from the ton. But ever since Edmund's death . . . the place was of bittersweet sentiment. Yet, he appreciated his mother's concern of his well being and her hope to ease his workload.
❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ "Thank you, Mother," he said sincerely, genuinely grateful for what she said. "But I would not burden you with having to deal with such affairs." It was his responsibility as Viscount and he did not want his mother to have to take on the load of work. "After all, I am certain the others are handful enough, with Eloise's season approaching." And three brothers who were not yet wed. But Anthony left that part out not wishing to place himself in the line of fire or target his own bachelor life.
❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ The mention of Francesca had Anthony part his lips to answer but no sooner did she join. He gave a small of greeting as she sat. Deciding to leave the conversation of his frustrations with siblings for another time, preferably without them in the room, Anthony listened as his mother and Francesca exchanged words, their dinner starting to fill their plates. He looked up when Francesca asked him what he did today. "Nothing of note," he said casually, thinking back on the goings on of the day.
❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ "I had a great deal of paperwork to catch up on. Then I went to the club for a couple of meetings." The gentleman's club of course. Anthony would not be in attendance at the more . . . questionable areas. "Nothing of terrible interest for you I would imagine," he said with a light tease, though holding truth to his words. His mother's mention of Aubrey Hall did have him thinking . . .as did his promise to Hyacinth about having her join them in Pall Mall.
❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ "I was thinking that with the season ending, perhaps we should all plan for a trip to Aubrey Hall." Taking his mother's advice, and keeping true to his promise to Hyacinth. After all, with Daphne married and others that were to follow, gathering together as a family would become more challenging as others moved away and settled into their own lives.

i will ALWAYS PROTECT YOU Anthony listened to her initial words as they trailed off, the question unfinished yet understood. Perhaps she was asking about how he had come to know this . . . and her words trailed off either because she had realized the answer, or . . . because of her demeanour which Anthony could tell was rather subdued. Not wanting to risk her potentially not knowing, he decided to answer it anyway. "Jarvis told me," he explained. As soon as Anthony had come in which was for the best for such news should not be prolonged to be told.
❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ He wanted to ask again out of concern, but she then reassured him that she was fine. That was what he needed to hear and yet, there was clearly more to it. If she was truly fine, then what was causing her to be in such a state? Something was troubling her and surely it had to do with the doctors visit. Anthony remained quiet, patiently waiting for further explanation which he was certain would come. She would not leave him hanging. And then, she said it.
❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖
"I'm with child."
❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ No. She mumbled it. Though Anthony understood the words, it took him several moments to process them. And during that time, she spoke them more clearly, saying that the physician believed she was with child. She was with child. She was to be a mother. He was to be a father. The news should excite! And it perhaps did as Anthony felt his heart swell with joy and happiness . . . honor in soon being a father. And yet, the way such news was delivered brought him further concern.
❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ Having children was the natural path following marriage. An, expectation really. Besides, it was not as if Anthony was taking any precautions to prevent a potential pregnancy. So surely, there was that understanding between them. At yet, there was almost a somberness to her delivery of this news. A . . . displeasure if you will. Anthony was unsure if he was accurately describing her tone of voice but it was all he could observe after the months of knowing her as his wife.
❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ He remained silent for many moments, studying her expression to see if it would give him any further insight as to why she may not be happy about this. It did not. So he knew that the only way he could understand . . . was to ask. "And this news . . . " He began to say as he carefully watched her. "Does not bring you joy?" It was both a statement and a question. Opening it up to further explanation from her part so that he could understand why she was not telling him with a smile, or an embrace. Why it sounded as if the physician's words were a curse rather than a blessing. Why it seemed she could not even bring herself to look at him as she told him this. Yes. There was most certainly more to this indeed.

i will ALWAYS PROTECT YOU Anthony had some work to do in the morning and then a couple of meetings at the gentleman's club. Elizabeth and he had been married for half a year and things were going quite well. They got along, apart from the occasion spats which Anthony was fairly certain was normal for a couple to have. They were never too serious, and never lasted abnormally long. So yes. Life married to Elizabeth was going splendidly well, and Anthony was very glad for the day he had thought to propose to her. For Anthony, he kept things at the surface. He himself did not delve deep into his feelings when it came to Elizabeth; keeping a wall up . . . a level of denial so that he may live out the remainder of his limited years without fear of dying. Something he had long since accepted. For if he ever truly loved someone . . . then fear of dying would naturally follow. And, he could not fear the inevitable. He had to accept it.
❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ The butler informed him that the physician had visited and Anthony slightly raised an eyebrow in curiosity. The butler continue to assure him that everything seemed to be alright, but clearly having no details on the matter. Curious, Anthony made his way to the drawing room where he saw Elizabeth sitting with a book and looking . . . different. Was it her demeanor? Her complexion? Perhaps a combination of everything. But he knew with certainty that something had happened that clearly called for the visit from a doctor.
❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ "Elizabeth," he greeted as he took a seat next to her. "Is all well?" He asked. "What did the doctor say?" He further inquired so that he may gather all the information and once and things be made clear. It did not seem to be injury, so that left only sickness. And sickness was one thing that truly worried the Viscount, for he knew he was quite powerless to do anything to aid someone who was sick. A frightening thought indeed.

Tag: @polinshipper82 i will ALWAYS PROTECT YOU Anthony nodded in gratitude as the doctor explained the duration of time it would take for Hyacinth to heal. He would be diligent in that she was following the doctor's instructions. Hyacinth was strong though, of that Anthony did not doubt. He smiled as Helena spoke of having a chance to impress them. "Despite what some may say, fear not. We are not difficult to please," he said lightly. When she stated that she wanted to ask something out of character, he sat back down once she seated herself closeby. He gave a small smile when she asked about a student attending Cambridge.
❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ While he was hardly one who got involved with other people's matchmaking . . . he was still a brother. And made it his business to know the men of the ton, and all their personal affairs. After all, he knew all too well that one may appear to have honorable intentions but . . . their actions -- discreet or not -- said otherwise. "Of course," he assured her when she asked if he could keep this in confidence.
❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ "What is it you would like to know? Or about who?" He asked, willing to offer what knowledge he knew . . . should it be appropriate for a woman's ears. And if not, he would find a way to reveal it without any crudeness. For she did not deserve to be deceived if this man was in fact, not as honorable as he claimed to be.
