It becomes increasingly good to be an expert at the craft of dressmaking when taking that into account. Because, who would want to buy a dress from a modiste who looks a mess herself? No one, in their right mind that is. So Genevive takes care of her looks, curates a warm smile for the young debutantes stepping into her shop and pushes her dark hair out of her eyes as she works.

.:Personality:. Genevive Delacroix is an enigma wrapped up in a body - perfectly content with the life she leads keeping her away from the balls and fanciful events of the ton. To her friends she is kind and caring, looking after those she believes need a helping hand to guide them, whether that means telling a certain Viscount to stuff it or not. She has a foot far enough into the door to be seen at the less fanciful but far more interesting events that don't tend to get the same advertisement. Genevive doesn't let anyone walk over her merely due to their rank, she understands the respect those in society ranking above her demand when they step inside her shop, understands the act she needs to put on to secure her living, her legacy. But, when the evening comes along no one understands better that she is not the one taking the largest risk appearing at scandalous parties, in the dark corners where booze flows and desire runs wild she is the one with power.

.:History:. Despite her claims of an adventurous upbringing in the French coastal town Genevive Delacroix has a different past she is hiding from both friends and the ton alike. Taking her at her word Genevive grew up in the town of Nice, spending her days learning her craft by her mother's side, assisting her from a young age and through adventurous events she ultimately found herself in London, alone, setting up her own shop. It is a reputation carefully crafted, an accent that is flawless enough to make the ton believe what they want to. Because whether or not Genevive Delacroix is actually the French woman she claims to be, the idea of a woman hailing from France sowing their gowns sound so much more exciting to the ton than a women from Bath, England doing so.

But Bath, England is indeed where Genevive Delacroix's roots actually lay. The town holds a dear place in her heart, and for the first few years in London she would send money back to her parents to help support them until their deaths. For a time she considered coming clean about where she is from, but the deeper into the lie that she has fallen the harder it has become. Now, Genevive recognises that not only would she lose the trust of friends and the ton, but losing the trust of the women who pay for her services would be devastating for her business.
