.:Name:. Silas Blackmore .:Nick Name:. The Undertaker .:Rank:. Nobility .:Age:. 33
| ~ • ~ | Appearance | ~ • ~ |
.:Physical Appearance:. Silas is a man of tall stature and medium build. He is of modest dress, the quality of the fabrics he dons having increased in synchrony to his wealth. His skin is light to reflect the absence of time spent outdoors; this causes his light blue eyes to be even more striking yet hold a calmness to them as well. As a man who does not desire attention, he dresses in neutral colours, always holding an appearance of being well put together when he is in the city or one's household for business. .:Height:. 6"1' .:Portrayed by:. Cillian Murphy

.:Personality:. Having practically monopolized the death trade does require a rather . . . distinct personality. One which Silas successfully embodies. He is exceptionally skilled in his area of business, from carpentry, to the business aspect of arranging funerals. He is very meticulous in his dealings, whether it be the crafting of one of his creations, or burial ceremonies. He is obsessively detail oriented and is determined to bring his vision to full fruition. Silas possesses a natural charm and calmness to him which is almost unnerving to one in his company. His presence is felt and it can be unsettling in the way his gaze is intently focused on those he converses with, or the way his voice has a soft, compassionate and empathetic tone to it which aids in during the bereavement process to his clients.
He is not manipulative per say, but these abilities allows him to build strong rapports with others and thus, organize the funeral arrangements to perfection. Further associated with this, Silas is an excellent listener and with him holding such a serene presence, it coaxes the other to open up and with great ease, expressing their thoughts and emotions. Though Silas does not use this to his advantage, it makes him rather aware and knowledgeable of personal affairs and intimate details of various individuals and their families of all ranks. He is very well respected throughout the ton and whispers fill the air when he arrives into the city in hopes to discover what business draws him from his country home.
Silas remains a rather introverted individual. While he does not struggle in conversing with others or holding a conversation, it does become exhausting to him so returning to his quiet home is often enjoyed when business is concluded. He mostly keeps to himself, enjoying the isolation as his mind thrives in such environments. He has always had a strange fascination with death and even offers to place himself in positions of guarding the bodies instead of hiring others to fulfil this role. He is of course, not at all squeamish and rather gentle when handling his work and the family and friends who mourn the deceased. .:Skills:. has an incredibly calm presence which brings ease to others and soothes them, is an excellent listener coaxing others to open up, has an almost unnervingly serene voice which relaxes those he speaks with, very business minded in his field, very skilled carpenter, well connected to others of higher class and to those who he hires for funerals .:Weaknesses:. lives in isolation with the exception of business calls, considered to be rather unconventional in his fascination with death and the ease in which he handles corpses, introverted, very meticulous and inflexible when having an image in his mind of how the arrangements should be made the ways funeral ceremonies should be carried out.

.:Birthplace:. England .:Family:. Father - Mother - twin sister - 3 younger sisters - 2 younger brothers .:Occupation:. Carpenter/Coffin Maker - Undertaker - Funeral Furnisher .:History:. Silas was born into a simple family; not ones of high rank nor extreme wealth. His father was the second son of a Baron, and did not have a great deal despite the noble title. The family lived only in their country home, unable to afford a place in the city. Born into a large family, Silas often found himself overwhelmed with his siblings and cousins which resulted in his own solitude ventures away from them. He was a rather quiet individual, often lost in his own thoughts and own world. Carving began to form as a hobby of his, starting with small items as he gradually became more detailed in his creations and focused in this work. It was at the age of twelve that his uncle passed away, allowing his family to take over his title and privilege that came with it. It however led to disappointment for the Barony hardly held any coin or significance. His deceased uncle had left nearly nothing and so assuming the role did not help the Blackmore's with their financial struggles. They could not even afford a suitable coffin for the now deceased lord, to which Silas used his skill to craft one. The detail and quality of his work rose interest among those attending and he slowly began to start selling his creations. Creating a coffin however, sparked an interest in Silas, one that involved the company of the dead.
This would lead him on a path to honing these skills and becoming the most sought after coffin maker, initially hired exclusively by the Undertaker at the time to create custom coffins for the deceased. Silas learned from him, the business and became his apprentice of sorts. His rather natural skill and ability to effortlessly fall into this role - along with the unique qualities he possessed to further seamlessly transition him into it - brought with it great success. He took over the death trade, being a single man who encompassed the three roles required when making arrangements for the deceased: coffin maker - undertaker - and funeral furnisher. His landed success made him the most sought after Undertaker, making arrangements for people of all classes. To balance out the busyness of his work, Silas bought his own home where he would have his carpentry shop next door, and rode into the city only when it was necessary for business.
His success reinstated his family's wealth, as he managed to secure dowries for all his sisters and start to bring privilege back to the Blackmore name. Unfortunately, his father began to resent Silas for being the one to do this, causing a strained relationship between father and son. Never the less, Silas engages in his work for the pure interest of it rather than the strong reputation or wealth associated with it. He believes that every body deserves a proper resting place, for only then can their soul find eternal peace.
