Random number generator selected . . . 28. My muse has suddenly sprained an ankle and can’t walk. If only Slade could control the idiocy of other people. He was a man meticulous, calculated, and planned out every contingency. But when a man could not drive a carriage, then there was only so much the crime lord could do to control the situation. It had resulted in the wheel hitting his foot causing it to twist to the side. Unfortunately, it was the foot that was not permanently injured, causing him to stumble to the side. Ordinarily he has his closest protectors and friends at his side, but he had just been taking Gilly for a walk -- this ordeal had occurred.
❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ It also caused Gilly to fall from Slade's arms from the impact, the goat screaming in surprise. Slade's cane was thrown to the side, yet his primary concern was the animal. Looking at him, he saw Gilly scramble to his feet and rush over to Slade. Relief washed over the noble as he then began to asses the damage. The driver rushed towards Slade apologetically, and Slade silenced him with a raise of his gloved hand, which he then used to wave him off.
❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ Not letting the pain be evident on his face, he sat upright, watching Gilly as the animal scurried over to the cane, picked it up between his teeth, and plopped it into Slade's lap. Eyeing the animal, he slightly shook his head as he leaned on the cane to hoist himself up. Walking seemed rather difficult at the moment so instead, he just worked to brace himself as Gilly let out another high pitched noise. Slade presumed it was the goat's way of crying out for help.

kitty & slade. Perhaps a lady in her position should not be out alone with her lady’s maid and her young child, but Kitty was defiant. Her husband was never home, and she didn’t wish for the household staff to be the ones to raise her daughters. There were plenty of ladies of the ton who likely preferred it when their children were left the maids, the housekeepers and the governesses, but Kitty preferred to avoid that, unless she was present too — at least then she had more company. It was lucky for Slade that she had Beatrice with her, for she was the one to direct her attention towards the goat. The little one's insistence that her mama look at the animal was what drew her attention in Slade’s direction in the first place, her gaze quickly shifting from Gilly to the man he was accompanying.Passing her child off to her maid, insisting they head back to the carriage without her (potentially a mistake, asking to be left alone with him, but there were no arguments — a look of concern, but no arguments), she approached, eyeing him curiously. Given the noise that came from the goat, and the cane the man held, she assumed something was amiss. “Are you quite alright?” [attr="class","mizocredit"] [newclass=.mizocredit a]font:bold 6pt calibri;letter-spacing:1px;color:#b5d1f1;[/newclass]
