tabby & will. It wasn't the response she would have expected from her older brother, but she could hardly blame him. Tabitha didn't know what he had to face at work every day, but she knew fine well he went through far more than she ever had to. She was in charge of a household, of two young children, and that was about that. She had household staff to help out, and her husband handling their finances and such. She'd married a man she loved, a man she believed to love her, and she had no complaints. He, however, had it far harder. For a moment, she hovered in the doorway, considering simply walking away, leaving him to it for awhile. Will was easy enough to get along with, for the most part, but she knew better than to get on his bad side. The last thing she wanted was to fall out with him, they scarcely saw Reuben, she didn't want to fall away from her entire family. "No need to apologise, brother. I should have warned you I was coming," she admitted, feeling a little foolish. It wasn't as if she'd come far, she still lived in town herself...but that wasn't the point. "Is this a bad time?" | -------------------------------------------- Though he did love Willa, he just wished she'd made better choices in life. The same somewhat applied to Rueben. He'd done all that he could to ensure the family was respected and that no one spoke ill of them, but could he reach that goal? Especially given the society that they lived in. Tabitha had been the least of his worries since he'd been given his dukedom.
Shaking his head, he responded, "No, no, you're fine." He reassured her. William supposed he just needed a drink and a pipe to help him relax a little after that tough day. It was uncommon for him to return home so... drained. Sometimes, he wished he was born as someone else, someone who did not have all these duties. He loved life, don't get him wrong, yet there were days like these that forced him to rethink his life.
He supposed it was easier because he was born a male.
"What is it you needed?" He looked up for a moment. |

tabby & will. Tabby knew fine well that there was a lot of pressure on her brother’s shoulders. He was a Duke now, and had far more to worry about than any of the other Slade siblings. She couldn’t even begin to guess what it was that Reuben was involved in, but she chose to bury her head in the sand, ignore all of that. She was blind enough to any wrongdoings involving her husband, she certainly wouldn’t notice them with a brother she hardly saw. Will was the sibling she saw the most frequently, and that was exactly why he was the sibling she’d approached now. She could hardly go to their younger sister with such issues. “There is something not quite right,” she admitted, the words feeling most peculiar on her tongue. That much had been true for so long, but she’d chosen to ignore it. She always chose to ignore it. “It is about Charles. My husband,” she added the last part as an afterthought, as if worried he may think she meant some other Charles. There were plenty of them about, though her husband was the only one she had reason to fret over. “Something is…wrong. I can’t quite put my finger on it. The children are well, all seems to be well…yet something is quite amiss. Might you have spoken to him?” [attr="class","mizocredit"] [newclass=.mizocredit a]font:bold 6pt calibri;letter-spacing:1px;color:#b5d1f1;[/newclass]
