.:Name:. Harriet Talbot .:Nick Name:. Harry (not publicly, though. This is how she signs her love letters...just in case they're ever found) .:Rank:. Nobility .:Age:. 19
| ~ • ~ | Appearance | ~ • ~ |
.:Physical Appearance:. Generally speaking, Harriet dresses as she's told. The colours, the styles, the dresses her mama and the modiste pick out. She never wants it to be obvious that she hates such things, and never feels right in them. She's the perfect little doll, happy to be dressed up, never wanting to seem put off by all the etiquette of dressing like a young lady. Her hair, too, is styled by her lady's maid, and she never puts up a fuss. It's society's decision as to what young ladies look like, after all. .:Height:. 5'5 .:Portrayed by:. Ella Hunt

.:Personality:. Harriet is the perfect oldest daughter. She does as she's told, follows all etiquette, and is on the hunt for the perfect husband. She says exactly what both of her parents want to hear, wears exactly what they want to wear, and never steps a foot out of line...and that's because she doesn't want to be ostracised from society. Fear is what keeps her going, for the most part. She doesn't view her sexuality as wrong, but she knows society would. So, she plays the part she's supposed to play, swallows down any desires she has on the surface. She's jealous of anyone who can be open about wanting something different, those who are unapologetically themselves...she doesn't know how to be that, not publicly. .:Skills:. Singing, penmanship, playing the part society expects her to play, saying what people want to hear. .:Weaknesses:. Girls, the unyielding desire to fit in, prone to jealousy (namely of those who get to be open about themselves and what they want), perfectionism.

.:Birthplace:. London, England .:Family:.
- James Talbot (father)
- Diana Talbot (mother)
- A younger brother & sister
- Gerard & Lydia Talbot (Uncle & Aunt)
- 5 cousins (including Bellamy)
.:Occupation:. Debutante .:History:. James Talbot was not the heir of the Talbot family, but he was hopeful that his firstborn child might be, if his brother continued to have girls (the existence of Bellamy, after all, wasn't something he knew of until much later). Unfortunately for him, Harriet came first, though he never seemed disappointed in her. It certainly helped that she had a brother come along not too long later, and the fact she always did exactly as she was told. There were instances, of course, in her childhood – moments where she stepped out of line, and got herself into trouble. They were never anything particular dramatic, though (refusing to eat the peas on her dinner plate, paddling in a lake with her stockings still on...never anything that she did purposefully), and as she got older, she moved on from ever daring to do that. She learnt to play the part, at least in front of her family.
One could say that there are two Harriet Talbots – the one society sees, and the one she allows those she cares for to see. There is the young debutante looking for a husband; the perfectionist who is silently jealous of so many...and then there's the giggly, fun-loving lady who knows exactly what she wants. And it certainly isn't a husband. She's known for several years now that she is not the person she paints herself as in the public eye. If Whistledown publishes anything about her, she wants it to be that she has found the perfect Earl, or Duke, or Viscount...the idea that she may ever show the ton her true self, while desirable on some level, is absolutely terrifying. Since her debut in society at seventeen, she's tried even harder to split herself in two (so to speak), knowing the version of herself she presents is incredibly one-dimensional, and no different from any other debutante...but if she fits in, then she's perfectly okay with that.

broken hearts that makes us
wonder if the price we pay
