Katherine was nervous to say the least, she had not been to London in 10 years, not long after her mother Cassandra’s death. Hidden away in Bath with her father Lord Rose, whom had not remarried, being far to heart broken, now it came time to present his daughter. It was time, his daughter was 23 now, his sister had to convince the man, her own daughter was already married and the same age as Katherine. The family had been in London a week now, just before the season was about to start, the blonde was nervous to say the least, to be presented to the Queen. Honestly she didn’t know how to feel, knowing finding a love match would be near impossible to find, it was rare that’s for sure. Surprised her mother and father fell in love, besides whenever the young lady did talk to a Lord, it did not end well, to sarcastic for her own good.
Currently the family home in London was being decorated for a ball, to invite the Ton to meet their newest neighbours and reintegrate the Rose family to society. Since it had been so many years since they’d been residents, Katherine was up in her room getting ready for the ball, the young lady was a mess, her maids slightly teasing her. “My lady, please stop. You’ll be to tried for the ball.” She giggled, causing the blonde to roll her eyes. “Then I guess I can’t go.” Katherine smirked, looking at herself in the mirror, tonight she wore a dark blue gown with sequins covering the bodice. She did not see the point in the ball, it wasn’t like she knew anyone, it had been years, yet her father did talk of the bridgerton family. Remembering how close they used to be before her mothers death, they were a nice family, well apart from the eldest. They never really got along, he never used to play like his other siblings.
Not long after, guests began to arrive, Katherine and Lord Thomas’s were waiting in the main hall greeting their guests. Thomas was happy to see his London home filled with guests again, wanting the best for his young daughter. He was also excited to see how old friend Violet, she was a good women, she was there for him when losing Cassandra. The father and daughter linked their arms as the ballroom filled with Lords and Lady’s of the ton. “So this is the beginning of the end?.” The blonde smirked, causing Thomas to shake his head with a chuckle. “Come now my dear, you can dance the night away.” He smiled, Katherine did like to dance and tomorrow she’d be presented and able to court, well if anyone was interested.
The last of the guests finally arrived, seeing a rather familiar set of faces, the bridgerton’s, a very well to do family that’s for sure. One of the most respected and liked, she did enjoy spending her childhood with the girls. “Lady Bridgerton, it has been far too long.” Thomas smiled as he gently pulled away from Katherine.
