There was not many things that phased Siena Rosso. She had lived a life that had taught her to take the unexpected in stride and to know that her fortune rose and and fell with the public's favor when she was on the stage. If they liked her, and the opera, then she did well. If they disliked it . . . . it could lead to her loosing everything she had worked so hard to build.
While she thankfully was out of the public eye in most regards once she was off the stage, there was some unforgivable acts that the ton would 'love'. As in they would love spread the tale, and would love to shun for her it. Such things she never had to worry about . . . . until now . . . .
She was unwed. She was with child. And the father was a noble. Not just a noble, but a higher ranking noble who was very much liked by the ton.
She was sitting on the bed, in the house that Anthony provided for, and lost in thought. He'd come tonight if he could. With Anthony his duty came first, and tonight there was a ball or a celebration or something that the ton's peers decided needed to happen with piles and piles of money thrown into it. She envied them in a way, and wished she could know such a life. However, the reality was that she would never be able too.
Hearing the foot steps of his boots, she sat up and waited for him. She hated that tonight wouldn't be their normal escape from the world. Tonight she'd tell him that she was with child.

i will ALWAYS PROTECT YOU There were not many events that Anthony could decline. As Viscount, he often accepted invitations to various events and knew he had to make good on his word. He was after all, representing the family as eldest son and heir. That didn't necessarily always mean that he wanted to go to them.
❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ But his duty was set before all else for it involved his family, and securing a future for his family. Ensuring they were taken care of and fulfilling the responsibility of finding them suitable husbands and wives. Fortunately, not all were there yet so it was fortunate that he had some time in between. Tonight however, was just as any other grand affair. His mother had of course not stopped trying to encourage him to speak to young, promising women in the hopes of finding a wife. Anthony would not hear of it. He remained silent on the topic, politely dismissing the urge to make conversation with the intention of courting and eventual promise of marriage.
❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ It was rather far from his mind, especially considering where he intended to go after he saw his family safely home. It was late, but after such an evening he longed for nothing more than to find ease and comfort in the arms of a woman. One woman in particular. Discreetly making his way to her apartment which he had conveniently bought across town, he glanced around before knocking on the door, hoping that she wasn't asleep though knew it was a very real possibility at this late hour.

Siena heard a knock at her door, and she knew who had come. Anthony. Pausing for a moment to look in the mirror she tried to quickly fix her face so she didn't look so pale. Pinching her cheeks and walked toward the door, and opened it with. "Good night," she said with a tease, a greeting she often like to use. Since they never could say good morning, it was always good night for a greeting rather then a good bye.
Once he entered she shut the door, and instead of pouncing on him as she normally did, pressing him into the wall or pulling him toward her bed, she hesitated. While nothing had changed--everything had changed. It left her out of sorts and stressed rather then enamored of his presence like she always normally felt.
"Would you like a brandy?" She asked, leading him to the parlor instead of the bedroom. They needed to talk and a stiff drink would do them both good. Sadly, she could not longer indulge in a brandy. However he could, and with what she was about to tell him a drink might help.

i will ALWAYS PROTECT YOU Anthony smiled when she greeted him, the playfulness of the words as he returned them. "Good night," he teased in response. But . . . something was different. Something in her tone. Her demeanor. He liked to think he knew her well enough to know that. And she immediately offered him a drink. Sometimes -- most of the time -- they did not even use words to greet each other.
❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖
"Thank you," he said in gratitude, giving his answer as yes. He followed her to the parlor, his eyes watching her carefully. She wasn't mad at him, for she would immediately tell him so surely he had done nothing wrong this time around. So . . . what was it? Had something happened? It was not as if they never spoke but he could feel the difference in the air and he felt growing concern for her. "Is all well, Siena?" He asked, knowing there was no way around it. He wanted to, needed to know if she was alright.
