Anthony was not one to overly indulge in alcohol, however recent events . . . no, recent realizations. He had been set on courting the diamond of the season, Edwina Sharma. And instead . . . felt drawn to her sister. This was not the way it was supposed to happen. His choice in who to marry should have been simple. He was never going to allow himself to love anyone so the answer to who he should make his Viscountess should have been straightforward. But instead, her damn sister had caused . . . complications. Not because she objected to the union -- he quite enjoyed the challenge of winning her over, at least in the beginning.

Until it turned into loathing her interference. But rather . . . because Anthony thought of her more often than he liked. Especially at night time, alone, in his bed . . . the idea of it all had caused him to attempt to numb it with alcohol. And eventually, he had lost track. He was currently in his study, within what he presumed to be an empty house . . . but if anyone was home, he had quite lost track of it all.

He was taking drink, after drink, after drink. It was unplanned for otherwise, he should have done so at the club. With any luck, he would pass out before anyone found him, for he much preferred to be found unconscious rather than drunk. Taking another large gulp, the floor flung open and he sharply turned to look at it. "Don't you ever knock?" He questioned, though his tone lacked annoyance and came out a bit more flat. Whoever it was had found him drunk . . . and whoever it was, there was two of them!

This season had been so filled with events that it seemed like she was constantly either at a party or getting ready for a party.  Today was a rare day that she was free to do as she wished so Philipa had decided to go with her sister Penelope as she visited the Bridgertons.  Once they arrived the girls started to chatter and then Philipa heard that Anthony was here.

Aww Anthony, he was the first crush she had ever had and even though she hated to admit it she still felt that way about him.  Excusing herself to the rest room Philipa made her way up to his study where it was well known he spend most of his time when he visited his family.  Usually he left the door cracked so she could watch him but now it was closed tight.

She tiptoed over to listen at the door but she heard nothing so she thought maybe he was sleeping.  Leaning against the door she opened it harder than she meant to and it made a loud banging noise.  She just stood there for a moment then she laughed seeing him like he was.  He was obviously drunk but why was he drunk now?  

Walking slowly over to him she stood next to him.  No I didn't knock but why are you drunk?
