TAG: @mariannetalbot i have sworn TO DO VERY FOOLISH THINGS A smile touched Vaugn's lips when a couple of his crewmen presented him a trunk. A very large, very heavy looking trunk. They had apparently been storing it on the ship for half the day and felt it a good time to offer it to him now. "It is something of great value, Captain!" One of them stated excitedly, eager to see their superior pleased with them. Vaughn approached the large item, rubbing his hands together to imagine all the valuable trinkets that could be within it. But, strange that there were holes around the trunk. Would that not put smaller items at risk of falling out? Which meant . . . there were large things within it.
Oh this was getting better and better! A pleased smile still upon him, he hit the lock so that it would open and pushed the cover up. What he saw inside . . . immediately caused his smile to fade as there was a young woman . . . in the trunk. . . "What is this?!" He demanded stepping away from the trunk, uncaring if she got out of it or not. It was not as if there were many places she could run to. "She's a duchess Captain!" Vaughn knew where this was going and . . . hate hated dealing with people. With ransoms, with slaves. There not worth the hassle that he inevitably had to deal with. And now, they had a woman on board.

Marianne had been out by herself just sitting under her favorite tree planning out the plot of her next book when some men came to the house. She could see them approaching the door but she didn't move, the butler would tell her if they came to see her but she didn't recognize them. They were probably here to see her husband so she ignored them writing down a few more lines. There was a loud yell and when she looked up those men where headed towards her. Marianne got up but she was too slow to run away from them. That was the last thing she remembered. Waking up with a headache Marianne could not figure out where she was but she knew she was trapped in some kind of trunk. Her hands were bound but her feet were free so she kept kicking off and on hoping to gain someone's attention who would free her. When the trunk was finally opened she blinked from the brightness. Looking up she cringed when she noticed the type of men looking back at her. Unsure if she should move she stayed still at first but then when it became obvious they were not going to help her she stood up and glared at all of them. Yes I am a Duchess and you need to release me now. My husband and my family will be looking for me.

TAG: @mariannetalbot i have sworn TO DO VERY FOOLISH THINGS Once the woman got to her feet, she proceeded to glare at them and make demands. Both of which, elicited laughter from Vaughn while his crewmates joined in the humour. Vaughn's expression of amusement remained, as he extended his arms out on either side of him as if to reference their current location. Lads, do you hear that . . . her husband and family will be searching for her. We must release her with haste!" His words so fully of mocking and ridicule which drew another eruption of laughter to rumble amongst the ship.
"What gives you the idea that you are in any fucking position to make demands?" Vulgarity of language not withheld for anyone of higher rank. His thoughts on nobles were ones that already called for him to show respect towards them . . . clearly. His mischievous smirk returned as he set his gaze upon her once more. "Should either of them make any attempt, they will find themselves buried in a watery grave." For he held no reservations about killing them. "Unless you give me reason as to why they may be worth more alive." An offer for her to start negotiating. Otherwise, he would find far more . . . pleasurable uses for her on his ship.

Marinne held her head high staring straight at this pirate not holding back. She was irate that she had been taken aboard this ship and all she wanted was to be taken back to her husband and family. I am Marianne Talbot, my husband is a Duke and he will come for me. So will my family. If you are smart you will take me back to them right now!The way he was looking at her made her feel sick and his words implied things that she didn't even want to think about. She had only been with her husband, there is no way that she would allow these scoundrels to use her that way. She was a lady, a Duchess and she would rather die than be touched by any of them. You haven't been around many ladies have you? Don't swear at me, I will make as many demands as I want. YOU CANNOT TELL ME WHAT TO DO! Now she was screaming at him.
She had never felt so lost in her whole life, finally she had been happy. She was married to a wonderful man that she truly cared about and they were trying to start a family.... then this horrible pirate burst into her life and ruined it all. Take me back, you will get paid well. Her eyes never wavered from glaring at him, she refused to let him know how much this situation upset her. She would demand her freedom with every breath in her.

TAG: @mariannetalbot i have sworn TO DO VERY FOOLISH THINGS Identifying herself as Marianne, her husband a Duke and further assurance that her family would come for him . . . not to mention the insulting remarks of questioning his intelligence. Not having been around many ladies and of course, her speaking as if she was in control. The entitled attitude of nobles was not something that was suddenly erased, despite their circumstances. Entitled practically ingrained into their very soul. Hearing her yell at him and make demands, abruptly shifted Vaughn from amusement, to annoyance. He swiftly pulled out his pistol, firing two bullets directly in front of her, missing her feet by a barley an inch. And that, was the intention. His expression and mood having altered with the same abruptness as he looked at her, unamused and serious.
"And if you are smart . . . " He began to say, still holding the pistol in his hand. "You will cease your fucking demanding tongue!" He did not care who she was, or what type of respect she demanded from others. Here, she would get none from him. The unpredictability in his mood and demeanour was not a rarity, but as it was without pattern, even his crewmen would not question it. "Now," he continued, his tone having gone from the menacing voice to a more causal one as he stepped closer towards her. "Define being paid well," he stated. "What do you believe your life is worth?" Nothing to him; but certainly, everything to a Duke. Unless he wanted to get rid of her which, would make this entire inconvenience rather disappointing.

This pirate was seriously making Marianne scream at him because he was not listening and all she wanted to do was to slap him as hard as she could she dared not. The longer she was on this ship, the further she was from home, the less chance she had of ever being taken back home. All of this scared the hell out of her but she was not going to let him see. She was going to hide her fear because she refused to give him the satisfaction of scaring her. Instead she continued to yell at him and refused to back down. Then suddenly he had a gun and before she could react he fired twice in her direction nearly hitting her. Now she was shaking not only with anger but with fear. All she would be worth to him was money and she prayed that he would not want anything else to him. She was not going to spend her life as a pirate wench, she would rather die than let that happen. Thinking of her husband she almost let her tears out, she missed him so much and now she was scared that she might never get to see him again. This was more painful than anything else. Now she looked at the wrecked man who stood before her. You are a horrible man, I wish hell upon your soul. Yes I am worth a great deal, how much do you want? She wrapped her arms over her chest trying to get some space between them.
