TAG: @julieta i have sworn TO DO VERY FOOLISH THINGS They had been at sea for well over a day now and Vaughn had spent most of his time on the upper deck having missed the smell of the open sea and the freedom that came with it. They had no destination set in mind but . . . that was always part of the adventure. He just hoped that were a good one awaiting them. "Captain, we have something for ya!" Vaughn turned around to see a young woman, hands bound with rope with a crewman on either side of he. A smirk formed on Vaughn's features as he titled his head to the side, his eyes slowly moving over her. it seems they had been storing a surprise for him on the lower day and thus far . . . he was not entirely displeased.
"And what do we have here," he said in an amused tone. He moved closer to the young woman; she was a pretty thing indeed. As he moved closer, his eyes leered over her reaching for her left hand, his fingers curled around her wrist, as he raised it in front of them. Seeing the wedding ring, one that looked like it was good quality indeed, he pulled it off her finger and held it up to the sky, squinting as if to inspect just how high the quality was. Pocketing the piece of jewelry, he looked back at her. "Who is your husband?" He questioned. Her hands looked as if they did not see a hard days work and judging from the expensive ring . . . she was at the very least, nobility. Perhaps she would be worth more than they had originally anticipated after all.

Juliet knew that she should have waited for one of Reuben's guards to go with her but it was just going to be a quick trip, she had forgotten to bring her mother's jewelry box with her so she had taken off on horseback alone. That was days ago, or maybe even more but she could not tell. She had woken up in a dark room bound, it had been hours before she realized that she must be on a boat by the way that the room was swaying. Then just as she woke up again she was drug up on the deck to be paraded before the Captain, She had never been on a ship before and the way it was pitching back and forth was making her feel sick but she refused to let that weakness show. Glaring at the man she growled at him as he came over closer to her. It made her sick to be leered at and it was not just by him but all the men on board. Her deepest fear was that she was never going home again but she would be captive here for these animal's pleasures. When he touched her hand she flinched. Why does who I married to matter to you? Do you actually plan on taking me back? She was scared for herself but she didn't want these beasts to go anywhere near Evelina so she refused to give a name.

TAG: @julieta i have sworn TO DO VERY FOOLISH THINGS She questioned why who she married mattered . . . whether he planned on taking her back. The former question he would certainly answer; the latter, well, why provide her with any semblance of reassurance that she was going to survive this voyage. "Oh but it matters to you my dear," he began to tell her, dropping her hand now that he had pocketed the ring.
"Your value is dependent on the wealth of your husband. That is all you are worth." Well, of course there were other pleasures that could be had from a beautiful captive such as herself, but Vaughn was thinking of what was most profitable in this situation. "Should you have been unwed, I would have questioned who your father was." Standing still in front of her, Vaughn turned his head to address his crewmates. "Who knew that I would be giving lesson to a noblewoman," he said in mockery towards her, prompting his crew to laugh in amusement.
He turned his head forward once more to look at the young woman. Though his eye contact was on her, his words were still meant for his crew. "Such a simple minded girl. Hardly a surprise." For they cared more of the fashions of their frocks, and the state of their hair. Leaning forward, his words now meant for her, there was an underlying tone of threat to them. "I do not like to ask things twice," he warned her. "It displeases me. And you would not want that now would you," he teased, his hand cupping her chin.

Juliet knew that she sounded foolish but she was scared and as so she was not thinking just talking. The only thing she knew for certain was that if this had happened when she was single her father would not have given a damn. He would never have wasted time nor money to rescue her but she feared that Reuben might feel the same way. Their marriage, their whole relationship was built on him protecting her and her taking care of Evelina. They didn't have a normal marriage or a normal relationship, he had never kissed her nor certainly never touched her. If he wanted too he could have easily had their marriage dissolved for lack of consummation. All this was running in her mind and tears ran down her face, she didn't think that her husband would come for her nor would he pay to get her back so this might be the rest of her life. Stuck on a ship with pirates, god help her what they would do to her. She still had not answered her when he cupped her chin forcing her to look at him. He was a handsome pirate she would admit that but he was a heartless brute too. Demanding her to speak she sighed then answered him. Yes I am married, my husband is Reuben Slade. Biting her tongue not to say more she looked down. She didn't want to tell him that he would probably be wasting his time, she would not blame Reuben if he didn't come for her or offer to pay for her return.
The tears were running freely now and she could feel the warmth of them burning down her cheeks betraying her. How could she even appear to be strong when she was weeping openly in front of them. How long did she have before they realized that she would not get them any great price and they might decide to find other ways for her to be of use to them.
