Emmeline was grinning widely as she scurried down the corridors in search of Hunt. Oh! The news was Delicious! Even he would wish to know the news she just heard! Currently they were at a noble's country house where Hunt was a guest in thanks for solving a crime; AND while there they had visit a neighbor's house to have tea. Well, who just might happened to have popped by for tea was someone who was very good friends, with someone who knew someone close to the queen! AND they said, that they had heard right from a friend, who had the friend who had the friend hear it right from the queen! Now she just needed to find Hunt and tell him!!
Where was the drated man!? During the tea one of the children had bumped a servant and poured brandy all over him and he had been missing since. Apparently a servant was going to clean and dry his clothes since none were had in his size here. That would teach Hunt for being thinner (fitter) and taller then everyone around him.
Finally she burst into a room and saw him, "Mist---" Naked! Stepping back she bumped into the door which shut it behind her. Her back knocking out the key and her feet kicking it under the door with out her even realizing it as she could only stare for a moment--then her sensibilities returned!! Turning bright red she spun around and grabbed for the knob--which did not turn. She had just locked herself in a room with a naked man! Standing there, staring at the door with wide eyes, she was afraid to move. Both because turning around meant seeing him naked once again--and because no matter her good news . . .
Hunt was going to kill her. Which was a pity, because she had just come to like him. "Good day today, Mister Hunter?" she greeted a very soft and very awkward greeting.

you can run BUT YOU'LL DIE TIRED Hunt was unused to having people serve on him. When the drink spilled all over him he had assured them that it was fine, and was willing to wash it himself. But insistence came from the noble to have it taken care of. While Hunt of course expressed his gratitude, it left him in a rather inconvenient state. For there was no clothing his size; his tall stature unmatched to anyone in the residence. Even where the servants were concerned. So Hunt was waiting in a room, unclad and feeling rather odd in this vulnerable position. But alas. His clothing should be washed soon. He was also unused to being so idle, so all he could do was wander the room, finding it a bit . . . odd to seat himself upon furniture that was not his, in the nude.
❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ A burst through the door alarmed him, immediately knowing it was not a servant for they would have at least knocked. And seeing who it was . . . well, it was the worst possible person to see him in such a state of undress. For reasons, that he prefer not to delve into. His hands instinctively dropped down to his manhood to attempt to conceal it. "Miss Denford!" His voice booming through the room that hardly seemed large enough to contain Emmeline as well as a nude Ezra. "Get out! What the hell are you waiting for?" He practically demanded, unsure why she was playing with the knob on the door. Why had she not left as swiftly as she had come in! What was she playing at?!

He so rarely used her name, and cursed at her. She could tell that meant he was especially upset at her. Lifting her hands away from the door, she hovered them there for a moment before begging to wring them together. "Yes, Mr. Hunt, about that . . . " She squeaked. "There seems to be a missing key, and without the key I seem to be unable to open the door." Because it was LOCKED! She looked to one side and the other to try to see it, however one side of her had a wall and the other had . . . him. "And I am quite unable to look for it at the moment."
Meaning, they were not locked in here. Together. With one of them missing clothes. So unless he was able to find a key, or climb the window then they were now staying. Together. At least until a servant came to---
OH!
Oh nnnoooo!!!
If a servant found her here with him. With him naked and her blushing . . . . She was about to get compromised! "Do you think you could use the window?" What floor were they on? COULD he climb out? Naked. On a nobleman's lawn? Closing her eyes she pressed her face against the door.

you can run BUT YOU'LL DIE TIRED A missing key? A missing key?! But of course there was a missing key! Things could never just be . . . simple between them. If he ever believed in fate, it would seem that it constantly seemed to try to thrust them both in the most problematic of situations. Closing his eyes for a brief moment, jaw clenched, he processed the information of them potentially being locked in this room for who knows how long. "If anyone is climbing out of the window it certainly will not be me," he bluntly told her. Of course, he would not actually expect her to do such. Perhaps in the earlier days of their meeting, the temptation to hurl her outside of the window would have crossed his mind.
❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ But now . . . while he would not admit it, he did not wish to see any harm come to her. There was an odd sense of, responsibility he felt towards her. Yet, such . . . feelings would remain silent; unspoken and unaddressed. "We are far too high," he told her. The risk of making it down too great for her and well, he was not climbing anywhere naked. His hands would need to be occupied by holding what he could to make his way down and it would only further exposed his unclad state. Noticing that her eyes were closed he would have to figure out how best to cope with this current circumstance. The only thing that came to mind was to somehow get the door open and get her out. "Keep your eyes closed," he demanded. "Take fifteen steps towards the left." His eyes already having calculated the path to ensure that in her doing so, she would not collide into any furniture. It would place her at enough distance that he could approach the door and attempt to open it for himself.

Too high. They were on their own then. With any luck, it would be a blind and mute servant who found them. Then she felt horrid for thinking about it. Hunt told her to keep her eyes closed and walk to the left. Which made her open her eyes and look to the left. "Right!" She clipped out, jerking her head back to look at the door. He was really naked! She had seen her first naked man. Just not well enough to understand. Now she was tempted to look! AND afraid of looking, AND afraid of getting caught, AND blushing from the idea of looking!
"Fifteen steps." She repeated and looked at her feet. She took one step sideways to the left, her fingers trailing over the wall. "One." Followed by one more. "Two." Followed by another. "Three." This continued until she reached the magic number of fifteen. "Now what?!"
The wall paper was very boring, and she had to fight to keep her eyes on it. "By the by, if you were in here in your all together--" she started to turn to look at him but then jerked back to the wall "--why was the door not knocked so no one count enter?!" Clearly his was not JUST her mistake!

you can run BUT YOU'LL DIE TIRED Ezra supposed he could count himself somewhat fortunate that she had at least half complied with his demand. For while she counted . . . she had opened her eyes. Usually, he knew he could not get full compliance out of her but in this current circumstance . . . he would push for it. Because, we was naked. And no better reason was needed than that. "Close your eyes," he demanded again, waiting for her to do so before he began to approach the door. He attempted to push it, trying to wriggle at where the handle once was. Doors within a nobleman's household however, were a great deal stronger. More thick and durable compared to the ones of a middle classman that surely could be pushed to the ground with adequate force.
❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ He glanced around the floor, looking for the handle, but even with it, it looked as if half of it had broken into its place, jamming the door shut. "Because a member of their staff was bringing me my clothing." Why did he need to explain this to her?! Turning his head over towards her to make sure she was not peeking, he made sure to keep one hand on his lower region while his other attempted to push at the door, using his weight on it as well. Frustrated that it was to no avail, he continued. "It is after all, common courtesy and sense to knock before one barges into a room." Indicating that she lacked both things. With the haste in she had entered, it was fortunate that Ezra was not caught in a more compromising position.
❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ While this was bad enough, fortunately . . . he had not been thinking about her when in a state of undress. For the . . . physical manifestations that could have resulted, would be impossible to explain to her. It would not however, have been the first time Ezra's mind went to her . . . when desire burned through him. Never in her presence of course would he make it known. But such was not the case those nights he was laying in bed, and could not get her out of his mind. But alas! That was not something he needed to think about right now. "You have managed to break the handle," he accused, further explaining why it was jammed though, logically he knew this must have occurred sometime before. She was not strong enough to break a door handle on her own . . . or at least not with the way she had come into the room this time.

He told her to close her eyes and she reminded him, "I am not looking!" Much. So she moved cover her eyes with one hand in a dramatic display of following orders! He told her that he was waiting on someone to bring him clothes. Which made since, yet still, they did not give him a blanket of some sort? How odd.
Turning to face him when he all but claimed she lack common courtesy, she kept her eyes covered by still glared his way. She hoped he understood the gesture. "I did not break the lock!" She would have heard a crack or break! "I am not that strong, and I only bumped it when you surprised me with your . . . " She gestured toward him with her free hand that was not covering her face.
"I'v never see a man without a shirt . . . . and trousers--I was surprised!" One of her hands moved to rest on the wall to help keep her balance while the other remained over her eyes, while she was facing in his direction. Very surprised, and her eyes had taken him in for a good few seconds before her wits returned and she turned away from him. Standing here now, she was still tempted to try and look. Did all men look like that? How did that work? ". . . It made you look taller . . ." Even she wished she could shut up in this moment rather than commenting on how his lack of clothes made him look taller.
