.:Name:. Matthias Voigt .:Nick Name:. Max; is only known by this name .:Rank:. Nomad .:Age:. 28
| ~ • ~ | Appearance | ~ • ~ |
.:Physical Appearance:. Matthias stands stands tall at 6 foot four, and has a muscular build. He has light colored hair which is surprisingly kept tame, light skin, and blue eyes. Despite his occupation, he is well put together, often appearing proper and neat. He dresses in dark colours to remain inconspicuous and does what he can to blend into a crowd -- his height sometimes causing him to appear imposing or noticed. .:Height:. 6"4' .:Portrayed by:. Calahan Skogman
| ~ • ~ | Personality | ~ • ~ |
.:Personality:. Matthias is a reserved and conservative individual. He does not over indulge nor enjoys environments where he may lay witness to it. He is fairly quiet, sometimes even pretending he does not speak English so to avoid conversation with others or to allow them to misjudge him, even deem him 'unintelligent' due to the assumption that he cannot speak English. He has tremendous patience and very little emotionally effects him, thus making it quite difficult to provoke or elicit a strong reaction from. He has a strong sense of loyalty, his current occupation reflective of that. His preconceived notions of others leaves him with strong prejudices and discrimination towards those of English birth, unsympathetic to exchanging their lives for coin. His childhood left him jaded, untrusting towards others, and determined that every transaction made is demonstrative of justice for his parents. He may not be considered a good man, but he does have a good heart if he only was able to open it to someone. He does not long for company -- or at least will not admit that he does -- as he lives a solitary life, traveling from place to place.
He is an expert in his field, having developed a strong reputation among those who would require his services. He is intelligent, cunning, manipulative, resourceful, and unyielding. He seldom ever turns down a job, catering to his own preferences, and has no qualms with the potentially unethical nature of what he does nor the means he goes through to complete a job. In fact, he takes it a step further; blackmailing criminals with threats of prosecution if they fail to pay money. He also occasionally encourages gullible men to commit crimes and then apprehends and prosecutes them in order to collect the reward upon their head1.
He is driven by vengeance and his loyalty is fierce towards those he cares for, despite it being incredibly rare if not non existent to those still alive. He does what he does with the firm belief that he is honoring his parents by exacting revenge on the population of those who condemned them. His sense of justice that his own parents never had, fulfilled through his work -- or so is his belief. His fees are dependent on the job, and his coin gets him from place to place, never remaining in one for long. His connections allow him to keep busy, and due to his vast and frequent travels, he has a strong knowledge of different cultures, politics, and countries throughout the world. .:Skills:. resourceful, cunning, manipulative, intelligent, multi-lingual, patient, well connected through his work, tracker, hand to hand combat .:Weaknesses:. overly reserved, conservative, solitary, unethical, vengeful, generalizes all people, prejudice beliefs, unempathetic, cold, stubborn

.:Birthplace:. Prussia .:Family:. None .:Occupation:. Bounty Hunter; thief taker thief-takers were usually hired by crime victims, while bounty hunters were paid by bail bondsmen to catch fugitives who skipped their court appearances and hence forfeited their bail. Both types also collected bounties offered by the authorities. Sometimes, thief-takers would act as go-betweens, negotiating the return of stolen goods for a fee. However, they were often corrupt themselves, for example extorting protection money from the crooks they were supposed to catch. .:History:. Matthias was born in Prussia to a upper class, wealthy family. He had a fairly happy childhood, being brought up with strong values and morals to set a good foundation for his future years. He was the only child in his family, and doted on by his mother and father. He started his studies at the typical age, and was a keen and enthusiastic learner. But this bliss was not meant to last. With the near threat of war -- one that would officially commence in a few years time -- Matthias and his family fell victim to the building tensions. His father was killed in the midst of an attack and his mother and he, still a young boy at this time, fled to England with no possessions. Desperate for work, his mother landed a job in a noble's estate as a house maid. Matthias also worked within the estate, doing whatever odd jobs here and there that were expected of him, with particular interest in the kitchens. It was here that he would learn of the abuse that his mother would face at the hands of her employer. A wife who stood by and allowed it to happen, and a Lord who inflicted the pain and suffering upon his mother.
Matthias, a child and powerless to do anything was forced to see his mother's pain, begging her to flee yet they would have no where else to go and no one to help them. Particularly since, his mother's English was quite broken and Matthias -- just a child -- was not taken seriously. The language learned by him through listening to staff in the household converse allowing him to pick up on the language. But they were still regarded as foreigners and servants. Eventually, despite initial protests, it became too much and his mother finally agreed to leave the place. Unfortunately, the night they were to escape, his mother never came and Matthias would never see her again. Alone in the world, he traveled throughout the lands, doing what he could do earn coin. His devastation manifested into rage, blaming those who disrupted his otherwise content life, and those who took advantage of a young woman and her child. He vowed then and there, to never let such criminals get away with their crimes. Somewhere along the way however, his perception became skewed, condemning anyone of English descent, criminal or not, so long as there was a reward upon their head, or on the goods that sought to be reclaimed.

no victor, only a trail of
broken hearts that makes us
wonder if the price we pay
