.:Name:. Oliver Belmont
.:Nick Name:. Olly (to close friends)
.:Rank:. Noble
.:Age:. 23| ~ • ~ | Appearance | ~ • ~ |
.:Physical Appearance:. Oliver stands at a height of 5’10ft with a lean body, built with just the right amount of muscle in the right places. His body is built for agility, endurance and has been conditioned by years of fencing practice. His physique is further accentuated by his fine choice of clothing. Oliver wears high-end tailored suits, most of which adhere to the color scheme of the Belmont family crest (black and gold). Oliver favors dark colors, so most of his clothing is on the darker side of the color spectrum. He is often dressed in colors like grey, navy blue, charcoal, and even maroon on occasion.
His hair is long, dark, and curly. His eyes are a bright green hue like the lively grass of spring but paradoxically his eyes seem to hold deep darkness in them, despite their bright color. Oliver’s facial features are well proportioned and some people have commented that he would be a handsome young man, were it not for the nonchalant and disinterested expression that almost always graces his features.

.:Personality:.
Charismatic |Above all things, Oliver is a silver-tongued trickster. Ever since he was a child, Oliver has been capable of talking just about anyone into doing what he wants as well as having a strange allure about him that makes just about anyone feel a small soft spot for him. He enjoys dark humor and can be quite sarcastic and mean at times. But he enjoys building strange and unique bonds with people. Oliver is quite calm and easy-going which makes talking to him feel natural.
He always has a little bit of time to say hello and always seemingly wants to inquire about the other person's state. He seems to naturally understand how to drop people’s guards with A well-placed touch here or there.
Well-Read | When he isn’t chasing hedonistic pursuits, Oliver enjoys reading, not just to keep himself up to date, but also just for the fun of it. You can often find him in some corner or nook in the Belmont manor with a book and a cigarette between his lips.
Flirtatious |Being a young man of refined taste Oliver never ever fails to appreciate a pretty woman. With his confident swagger and charming nature, it is hard not to like the man either. Further down though the man has yet to find anyone he would commit with, preferring to keep his women at arm’s length to stop getting bogged down in emotional connection. That doesn't mean that he doesn't compliment and flirt his way through life - though he only has eyes for the fairer sex, the man knows how to play to his audience and will flirt his way through almost any scenario, even a fight if needs be and almost always prefers to be the dominant one in the situation
The Manipulator |Oliver has one goal in life: to live and live well, whether that is through winning a life or death fight or with a pretty woman on his arm, the young man is willing to do almost anything to manipulate the social environment to his liking. Oliver can do this in such a way however that nobody even notices he does it unless they know him on a personal level.
Capable of applying the slightest pressure to a situation or being entirely false, the man can manipulate the situation as he sees fit - if he chooses to, Oliver doesn't thrive to make a social situation a bad event but if it is required, he will.
The Sadistic |Of course with all enigmatic personalities comes downsides. For Oliver, this is no different. When riled into a frenzy a truer, darker fraction of Oliver can come to light. The young man is a complete and utter sadist at heart. Even though he can turn the social situation to make it seem like he has the heart of an angel, nothing gives him more secret pleasure than seeing those he has no strong affiliation with suffering.
It is perhaps why Oliver never sticks to one particular woman, enjoying the chase more than the catch and cutting ties thereafter. Translated over to a fight, Oliver likes to make his opponent suffer and takes great gratification in making them die in humiliation. To some extent, Oliver can play this off as a lighthearted foible, but underneath the man's charismatic mask is the soul of a cruel young man who doesn't mind throwing honor aside if it gets him the win.
.:Skills:.
Affinity for water: The Belmont family is known for their affinity for the ocean and for making their fortune from it. As a result, almost every member of the Belmont family is an excellent swimmer, navigator, and sailor.
Fencing: Oliver has been trained in the art of swordsmanship by the best tutors his family could afford since he was 10.
Music lover: Oliver loves music, whether it’s the methodical and structured music that plays at noble social gatherings or the fast-paced and rhythmic music you might find playing in a pub or tavern. He loves almost all kinds of music and over the years he has become a skilled dancer and Pianist.
Ruthless businessman: There is a reason the Belmont family crest is a shark. This family is ruthless when it comes to matters of money, and Oliver is no different. His parents have carefully groomed him to take over the family Import & Export business when they die. This means he is tactful; manipulative and he can be a merciless adversary when competing for profits.
.:Weaknesses:.
Hedonistic: Oliver is incapable of resisting a good time. He enjoys the pleasures of the world to the fullest, whether it be alcohol, gambling, good music, or women. He has been found passed out in common pubs many times in the past due to his love of pleasure and fun. As a result of his misbehavior, he has been labeled the family black sheep.
Horse riding: As a member of the Belmont family, Oliver finds more comfort at the helm of a ship than at the reigns of a horse. He can ride a horse if he absolutely has to, but he isn’t particularly good at it.| ~ • ~ | History | ~ • ~ |

THE BELMONT FAMILY CREST
“PROGRESS OR DEATH”
(The above phrase is the Belmont family motto. Like the shark on their family crest, members of this family are obsessed with moving forward because stagnation feels like death to them. They are groomed from a young age to expect excellence from themselves, and they are extremely ruthless to anyone or anything in the way of their progress. Belmonts are often encouraged to use any underhanded methods necessary to succeed and to progress further. Even if it involves manipulation, Sabotage, or murder.
The Belmonts are quite fond of the sea, all of them are skilled swimmers, sailors, and navigators. Their love for the sea has even caused them to buy properties near the ocean in order to have a sea view and easy access to their ships. )
THE BELMONT FAMILY HISTORY:
The Belmonts are a family of nobles that have been aggressively monopolizing the foreign Import and export market since the 17th century. Over the years, the family has amassed a fortune by using their own ships to import and export goods between countries. The family has built and bought enough ships to have their own fleet of ships, some of which are built to deliver goods and others are built specifically for combat in order to protect their shipments and their other interests in the ocean. The Belmonts even lend their battleships or transport ships to the British army or other nobles on occasion.
However, despite their wealth and their relationships with other families. Being a member of the Belmont family is no easy task, their family name will forever be stained by blood because of the piracy in their past. For you see, the family managed to take over the Import & Export industry by hiring talented sailors to be pirates, these pirates were sent out by the Belmonts to pillage and sink ships that belonged to other Import and export companies, thus violently killing off their competitors. So, the family name is both a blessing and a curse to all who bear it.
To this day, members of the Belmont family are often called pirates because there is speculation that they still use piracy to destroy their opponents in the Import and export industry, and even though many of those rumors are true, there is no substantial evidence against them.
OLIVER'S HISTORY
Oliver is the first-born son of William and Martha Belmont. For as long as he could remember, his family has always had high expectations for him and his younger siblings. The expectations were so high that Oliver never really got to enjoy his youth. While other kids went out to play, he was being taught about business, history, and politics by the best tutors his parents could afford. And when he wasn’t busy learning, he was practicing piano or fencing. He had almost no time to play as a child, which affected his teen years.
By the time he had turned 16, Oliver was already experimenting with tobacco and underage drinking. He also began sneaking out of Belmont Manor in order to frequent pubs or socialize with other teens his age. It was almost as if he was making up for the time he had lost in his childhood. There were times when Oliver would disappear for days on end, only to be found unconscious in some common tavern. Sometimes he would go missing for days on end and eventually he would return to dock with one of the family ships after sailing it to unknown locations. This kind of behavior obviously caused tension between Oliver and his father William. Mostly because his father knew that the Belmonts were pirates by nature and members of the family have had a difficult time controlling this side of themselves for many generations. Members of this family naturally craved money, alcohol, FREEDOM, and the pleasures of the world. It was in their pirate blood, and the pirate blood was particularly strong in Oliver. This was concerning to Oliver’s father because William had spent the past decade trying to restore the reputation of the family name.
As Oliver grew older, he became more of a free spirit. He would sail away to unknown locations for longer periods of time and his hedonistic habits only became worse when he reached the age of 18. Which worried his father but amused his mother, because Martha recalled her husband being free-spirited and hedonistic just like Oliver when William was young. But as soon as the responsibilities of the family business were handed down to him, William was forced to grow up.
So he assumed that giving Oliver more responsibilities in the business would curb some of his habits. As expected, Oliver performed quite well in the family business, because his parents had been preparing him for this kind of work since he was a child. But the work didn't curb his habits, instead, it seemed to worsen things because now, Oliver was getting a sizeable salary for his management of the family business.
When he wasn’t working he was still in pursuit of earthly pleasures and freedom, so his father has resorted to trying to find his son a wife, in order to convince his son to abandon the call of his pirate blood.
