.:Personality:. Knightly had a fair but cheap education thanks to his mother, and from that is well spoken and sharp minded. In general settings he can be social and can be pleasant to converse with, however he is cunning and knows how to turn the tables to get what he wants. While he will always have a soft place for his mother, the other other thing he loves is his new paper and printing press. While he had friends, he does not see them as close, and would not prevent his paper from printing negative things about them if he thought it would sell. He does not do it for the coin, but the enjoyment of knowing his papers are some of the best and most read in London and even in some parts outside of it.

.:History:. Tobias was born to a noble man's mistress, and kept hidden from the world in the way any noble man 'hides' his natural born children. However, his father favored his mother and often visited until Tobias was 10. While his father was kind, he was also clear spoken in that Tobias could not approach him out side of the house. When his father died, a 10 year old Tobias and his mother were cast out of the home--his father's heir not planning to pay for the house. Tobias hates his step-brother father's son because of this. His mother almost died of sickness, however did recover. She had been an actress in her younger days and went back to work at play houses. She would often have someone who 'paid the bills' for them. Tobias had a good education that his mother paid for, using tutors. He learned to read, write, and gamble very well.

He worked many jobs in his youth, some very unglamorous and a few dangerous. Saving up coin, he bought a broken printing press and rebuilt it. Turning a small investment into a power house of information. His new papers are favored among the ton, and it puts him in a position of being someone they both ignore, and cannot ignore.
