.:History:. Born in a small village near London on November 2, 1792, Percy Selkirk is the second son of Edmund, a lawyer, and his wife Catherine, as well as the younger twin to his brother Owen. His childhood was simple, and he quickly developed a friendship with a young Scottish noble, Thaddeus Bannerman. His childhood was simple, and he enjoyed riding around with Thaddeus, going hunting.

As the two grew older, their feelings for each other gradually became more romantic, and when they came of age, both joined the army to serve the King.

However, during a training exercise, Percy’s rifle misfired, and he had a bad wound to his right leg, along with shrapnel from the misfire.
The wound was bad enough that Percy would have to leave the military, unlikely to be able to fight again with the wound even after surgery. And so, Percy left, and Thaddeus stood by his side, helping to care for him after the surgery to remove the shrapnel.
