Silas was just sanding down his latest work, inspecting each detail as he did so. Ensuring it's smoothness, the durability of it - that there was nothing less than quality of perfection. But approaching horses instantly distracted him. While he was easily transfixed into his work, able to ignore the world around him, he was also quite sensitive to noise . . . because there was not a great deal of it out here in the country. As he preferred. With his newest hire - Melia Gale - the serenity found here was continued. He had not thought he would find someone capable of balancing his needs but fortunately, she seemed to be doing quite well with it. He did not know a great deal about her, and what little she did reveal was doubtful. But so long as she did the work and allowed him to do his, he did not pry. So when a couple of gentlemen neared his home, Silas let out a quiet but agitated breath as he was forced to set down his tools and step out from his shop. Lest they step in and disturb him in his workplace. Taking a cloth in his hands to wipe them off, he exited the shop and saw the men near the door of his estate. His voice pulled them from their next actions of knocking. "Gentlemen," he greeted, masking any former agitation of their unexpected presence with a calm and composed pleasantry. "What can I do for you?" Surely they were not clients, but perhaps men to send message for his services. Silas could not think of anyone else who would make effort to come to his estate so far from the city. TAG: Amelia Nightingale |
