modern bio.
It was likely a surprise to absolutely nobody when Eloise announced she would be studying English at Cambridge University. It seemed almost expected for a Bridgerton to end up at one of the two Oxbridge institutions, and after excelling in her A-Levels in English, History, Philosophy & Politics, it seemed the natural choice. Ever since she was a little girl, the fifth-born Bridgerton dreamed of little other than becoming a writer, and that dream remained as strong as ever as she got older.
Throughout her teens, she's attended rallies, protests and events; she's always been outspoken, loud and stuck to her beliefs. She's always been big on going to Pride, having been open and out as bisexual since she finished school. While some might view her opinions as an act of rebellion, she would say her rebellious spirit comes out more in the smoking, drinking & parties she attends. While being from Mayfair and attending Cambridge pretty much proves to everyone that she's rich, she doesn't like those she meets knowing she comes from money — she'd rather hide that, and at parties, she's usually pretty secretive with her family name.
While El is in no way ashamed of being a Bridgerton, it often seems as if people assume she's going to be some spoiled brat when they realise the wealth she comes from, and given her penchant for socialism and intersectional feminism, it's always seemed easier not to bring it up when she first meets people at events or parties. Given her blunt, bold personality, she's never going to be the type to remain unnoticed and blend into the background, it's more so about being selective in what she shares with who, and existing in several very different circles.
