It was a lovely day judging by the light coming through his window when Colin opened his eyes. He got up and got dressed up as soon as possible. Since his last return, he wanted to spend time with his family. He really missed them when he was abroad. As so, he wanted to reconnect with his siblings and his mother as soon as possible. What a better way to do that than annoying them in the process ? As a young gentleman, the third son of the Bridgerton clan decided to start with the eldest brother. What could he do in order to annoy Anthony ? What if he took his watch and put it in an other room ? It would do. Colin get out of his room and directly went to his brother's office.
Anthony was out, he did not know for how long, but he knew that the path was clear.Judging by the glass and the watch on his desk, his brother was properly near by. Colin was ready to bet that someone disturbed the viscount. The dashing little brother took the jewerly and ran right into the living room. He was nearly there when he almost collided into the eldest Lord Bridgerton. Colin hid the watch in one of his pocket and gave the viscount one of his mischievous smile.
« Morning Anthony, how are you ? Beautiful day, don't you think ? »
The youngest brother prayed to be successful at hiding his guilty look. He really wanted to succeed in his nonsense and did not want Anthony to be suspicious, for now. That is the reason why, Colin was looking as innocent as he could, smiling and presenting his cheerful self.

 Tag: @colin Note: Better layout coming soon! i will ALWAYS PROTECT YOU The house had certainly become a bit quieter . . . first with Daphne's departure to her married life, and then with Colin going on tour. But, with the latter returning, things seemed to be going back to somewhat normal in the Bridgerton house. Funny. That normal meant a house full of a chaos. But Anthony would not have it any other way. He had been in the back with Hyacinth and Gregory, playing a few games which turned into an argument which . . . Anthony had helped mediate.

He was making his way back into the house when Colin nearly collided into him. Colin immediately greeted him, asking about his well being and commenting on the weather. The Viscount just looked at his brother, suspicion on the elder male's features. He knew each sibling well enough and he could tell that Colin was up to something. It certainly would not be the first time. "Good morning," he responded a little skeptically, a slightly raised eyebrow. Relaxing his features, his expression changed but not to let Colin off the hook. "What did you do?" He questioned, bracing himself for whatever mischief Colin had gotten up to. "Come on, out with it," he playfully urged, an expectant tone in his voice.

Here Colin was, minding his own business, when Anthony came in order to bother him. No, kidding. The truth is that Colin stole his brother's watch when he wasn't looking and just had been caught red-handed. Smiling as innocently as he could, the little brother greeted the viscount. When his eldest brother asked about what he had done, Colin pretended to be offended.
« Nothing ! I was just on my way to... read in the living room ! I am not a child anymore Anthony, I am wiser now. »
Without saying anything else, he walked away, slowly, took a book and sat on a chair. He had no interest of reading anything, but as long as his eldest brother was watching, he would. He heard his footsteps returning to his office a couple of minutes later and smiled like a child. Anthony just had the time to sit back behind his desk when Colin shouted.
« Hey Anthony ! What time is it please ? I cannot find my watch. »
Right after screaming that, Colin stood up and ran like hell. He knew Anthony was about to get mad and he did not want to be here when it'll happen. The mischievous child escaped the house and ran as fast as he could through the garden. He finally decided to hide, right into the barns, laughing proudly. He knew he was in trouble, but he was enjoying himself and it was his way of spending time with his dearest brother, even though he doubted that Anthony would like it as much as Colin did.

"Wiser, has yet to be determined," he said teasingly towards Colin. Yes. He knew it was true. His brother was older, and much wiser as was to be expected. And despite Anthony perhaps not saying it enough . . . he was proud of him. Proud of the man that he was growing up to be. Really, he was proud of most all of his siblings even if the words did not often leave his thoughts.

"I shall leave you to your, wisdom then," Anthony told him, the word said with teasing sarcasm as Anthony returned to his study to resume his work. It was here that he heard Colin yell out to him, asking what time it was and that he could not find his watch. Anthony naturally reached for his pocket watch, remembering exactly where he had left it. The item was so near and dear to the Viscount's heart, that he guarded it with his life.

So when he reached for something that was not there, he froze. Panic began to set in. His hands scrambled desperately over his papers on the desk, tossing some to the side as he searched every inch of it for the cherished possession. That, was when he heard footsteps racing out the door. Anthony froze, taking in a deep breath as a look of displeasure formed on his features.

"Colin!" He demanded. When there was no response, he knew what this was leading to. Stepping out into the hallway, he saw a servant passing by. "Where did he go?" Anthony asked, wondering if he went out through the front or towards the garden. The servant pointed Anthony in the direction that the third son had sped off into and Anthony walked with haste after him. When reaching the gardens, he stopped walking for a moment, scanning his surroundings.

"Colin Bridgerton!" He called out to him. Wherever he was, he had a strong feeling that Colin could hear him. "Return my property or next time I will come out with a musket!" Of course, he wouldn't really and he knew that Colin was well aware of that. Still. He had to make his displeasure known! And at the same time, it was no surprise that his brother had done something so . . . mischievous. That was in the very nature of Colin Bridgerton.

Colin was one of the most mischievous child of the family and he embraced his title. His first victim since he came back was Anthony, his dearest big brother, who also was the grumpiest of the house. That is one of the reasons why Colin decided to start with him. He smiled as innocently as he could while the viscount looked at him suspiciously. Anthony was not easily tricked, but Colin loved a challenge and as so, his dearest brother was his favorite target.
« Careful brother, it almost looked like you were making a joke. »
He teased him back and smiled like a child when the first born declared he would let him to his wisdom. Colin nodded and sat down with a book in his hands. He had no intentions of reading but it would do it as long as necessary in order to mess with Anthony. The third born waited and when he thought the perfect moment arrived, he asked his brother what time it was. He listened to the silence which followed and understood it was time for him to run. So he ran, as fast as he could, laughing like a seven year-old. He hide into the barns, feeling proud of himself and waited for his brother to come. Only a couple of minutes later, he heard his brother's voice, warning him. A musket ? Really ? Did he seriously thought through it before shouting it out loud ? How would Mother react if she heard this kind of speech ? The only thought of the eldest brother being caught and scolded by his mother made him laugh. There was no way that Anthony did not heard him so he decided to come to him. Colin knew how important this watch meant to him and he only wanted to bring his attention on him, not being killed by the viscount. Getting out with his proudly smile, he came to his brother and bragged.
« A musket ? Really ? I wonder what Mother will have to say about it when she will hear of it. »
Yes, he was totally playing him, but it was really funny to see Anthony with his angry's face on. He smiled at him and showed him his watch.
« If I give it back to you, would you show me how to actually use a musket ? »
It was worth a try, Colin only wanted to spend time with Anthony.

Tag: @colin Note: Better layout coming soon! i will ALWAYS PROTECT YOU Anthony was certainly hoping that he would not have to give him a second warning, keeping the authority and seriousness in his voice as his eyes scanned the area . . . and sure enough, he saw Colin coming out with that smile of his. Anthony's eyes narrowed at him, clearly glaring though . . . he knew, it was all in good fun. When he threatened to tell mother Anthony's expression was unchanged.

"Come now Colin," he told him. "You are a man now. Settle matters as one rather than involving mother." His words clearly, a tease though his serious expression remained. Colin knew him well enough to know the almost, playfulness in his words. When Colin suggested returning it in exchange for lessons with a musket, Anthony's response was quick, not even considering it.

"No," he told him bluntly. Anthony kept such a weapon reserved for when matters between gentlemen required settling. But thinking over the reason that Colin asked, Anthony continued. "But, I will take you hunting and we can practice your aim with a rifle." There. That sounded like a fair compromise and so Anthony held his hand out expectantly, waiting for Colin to hand him back the pocket watch; that natural air of authority and confidence -- perhaps a bit of arrogance that his terms would be agreed upon -- unwavering.

Colin could be a pain in the ass sometimes and he was well aware that today was one these times. He decided to come out of his hiding place and to face the viscount. Even though he was proud of himself and not really in the position of teasing his older brother, Colin could not resist. He asked Anthony what their mother would do if she was aware of the words he used in order to get him to come out. Colin smiled like a child when he heard the eldest's words.
« You're right, I am, but what would be the fun in that ? »
He enjoyed every minute of this confrontation, he knew deep deep down, that Anthony was not that mad. He was only playing the role of the head of the family, even though it did not work on Colin. As Colin was full of hope, he tried to make Anthony vulnerable in order for him to teach Colin the musket. Well, it obviously failed. The third brother was full of joy when he heard his brother suggesting that they can go hunting together. Awesome. Colin pretended to accept it with diplomacy and gave the watch back to his brother, as a peace offering.
« I think I can accept that, even though we both know I am a better hunter than you are, especially with women. »
He teased him and walked back to the barn, preparing his horse.
« And do not be late ! » he yelled before disappearing.
He really was a pain in the ass, but he always got what he wanted.
