.:Personality:. Genevieve is a free spirit through and through. She’s a go-getter who raised herself up from nothing to a respected self-made woman who can dip her toes in the world of nobility and high society but isn’t bound by their rigid standards and customs. She cherishes her freedom above all else and doesn’t hesitate to lie to preserve it. A hedonist at heart, a woman who will always strive to follow and satiate her passions and live her life to the fullest.

Her business gives her the means to leave as she pleases at night, but staying in society’s good graces also means keeping her affairs secret. Living a double life is far from foreign to Gen, though. As a woman alone in this world she soon learned the importance of true friendships, especially with other women that go against what is expected of them and risk their reputation for their freedom – she’ll go out of her way to help those close to her and is a true loyal friend. Creative, driven and resourceful, witty and quick, persuasive. She’s determined to be the seamstress to her own destiny.

.:History:. Not much is known about Gen’s past, and even what is is most likely a fabrication. The official story is that she comes from a decently well-off family with long history of cloth merchants and dressmakers. Born and raised in France, where she also studied and apprenticed with the finest Parisian seamstresses and modistes before making her way to London to make a name for herself. Quite simple, really – a story she’s told so many times she now almost believes it herself.

One of the rare things she remembers from her childhood is the games she used to play with her friends. Pretending to be knights, ladies and lords, queens, kings. Fabricating her credentials and history was this child’s play for her and the confidence she carried herself with landed her an apprenticeship with the finest modiste in London – a position she kept until she herself took over the title of the ton’s trendsetter. A life of luxury she lives now is worth every lie she told to get here and the freedom it grants her is all that little girl growing up on the English countryside had ever dreamed of.

The truth remains hidden to even those closest to her, only unraveled a little bit to those who manage to see past her fibbed French accent, like Miss Marina Thompson did, but they always seem to strike a deal that ends up benefitting both parties. Regardless of where Gen comes from she has proven herself useful to nobility both with her unmatched needlework and an excellent nose for gossip and rumors.
