♚ your queen commands it ♚ TAG: @eloisebridgerton NOTES: THIS IS WHAT THE GENERATOR SELECTED! At long last, the identity of Whistledown had been revealed. It was a rather . . . unexpected individual. While she had been one among the many suspects, the Queen had not given her second thought. She had believed the Featherington girls to be far too dim to create such a character as Whistledown and not bold enough to write such things. Clearly, the queen had underestimated all but one. And she, would pay for her crimes. It was not yet publicly announced yet there were few privy to this information. One such, being one of the Bridgerton girls. Charlotte once believed Eloise to be Whistledown yet that suspicion was clearly squashed when the gossip monger had written negatively Eloise. But now, it all made sense. It all came together.
Yet the Bridgerton girl continued to surprise her for she came to appeal for her friend. To ask for her pardon, and for the queen to not harm her for her actions. The queen was even considering having her hanged for treason as she spoke so ill about her majesty. Why was Eloise defending such a woman? They were friends perhaps but no. It had to be something more. And that was when she saw it. The Queen saw this emotion behind the girl's eyes. One that transcended mere affection for a friend. It was something deeper. Something . . . familiar. For the queen had once felt this for her husband when he was of a lucid mind. So behind that fear, worry, and plea . . . came an all too familiar expression, which was why the Queen spoke the words that she did in realization and acknowledgement. "Oh my God. You're in love with her."

eloise & queen charlotte. Once upon a time, what felt like an age ago, Eloise had felt entirely betrayed when she’d learnt that Penelope Featherington was Lady Whistledown. It had broken her heart when she’d learnt the truth, especially in such a way, right after the fictitious author had exposed her to all of Mayfair. Angry and heartbroken as she’d then been, it hadn’t lasted — it couldn’t. She’d told herself that, while she’d never expose Penelope’s secret to another soul, she’d never forgive her either. Her resolve hadn’t lasted. She’d missed her too much, and within months, they’d started to patch things up. It had taken some time for things to improve, but time had healed all wounds, and shown how much Penelope truly meant to her. That was exactly why she refused to allow anything to happen to her now.Mistakes had been made with Whistledown, that much was abundantly clear, but surely it wasn’t bad enough that the Queen of England needed to step in? A few words in a gossip sheet surely couldn’t warrant such drastic measures, regardless of what she’d said or done. It was just ink on parchment, everyone who was anyone had been mentioned in the column, but Eloise wasn't so hopeful that all would eventually be forgiven. It clearly wasn’t going to be that easy.Pleading with the Queen wasn’t going to be easy either, but Eloise simply couldn’t help herself. She was too bold to consider what a foolish venture it might be, and it wasn’t like it was her first time dealing with her majesty. They’d had several run ins before either one of them had known Whistledown’s true identity, and she could only hope that would somehow help. She certainly hadn’t expected it to do this.Eloise had never told a soul about her feelings for Penelope, well aware that such a thing could land her in heaps of trouble. It would do a lot more than simply ruin her friendship — such things were not supposed to be uttered among polite society. She’d simply have to remain a spinster, pining after her, watching as she eventually settled with some gentleman or other…but she couldn’t lose her. Not like this. Not forever.Panic set in, Eloise’s mouth went dry, and she struggled (for once) to formulate words. It wasn’t illegal in the same way it was for men, but that didn’t mean people would approve — especially not the Queen. "What?" A nervous laugh followed. "I do not know what you mean, your majesty. I came here because Penelope is my friend. My best friend." [attr="class","mizocredit"] [newclass=.mizocredit a]font:bold 6pt calibri;letter-spacing:1px;color:#b5d1f1;[/newclass]
