To say she was horrified would be an understatement. It wasn't as if Newton was her responsibility, but she'd been more than a little attached to the dog recently. With her eldest brother and new sister-in-law on their six month long honeymoon, and everything with Whistledown, Penelope and Theo fresh in her mind, she'd needed something to distract her now the social season had ended. Spending time with a dog certainly beat out spending time with the gentleman of the ton. He was actually cute, and she appreciated his company. It was quite the refreshing change.

Apparently, it had all been going too well. Anthony and Kate would be livid, and she was rather heartbroken herself. Surely they'd be able to find a corgi before he got too far away? She couldn't deal with another loss, she'd had too many of those recently. The dog was the only friend she had left. "Well, who saw him last? Surely one of the footmen must have seen him get outside? How far can he possibly have gotten?"
