The moment she stepped into the chamber, she froze. This was exactly why she should have knocked, exactly why she should have considered the fact she was heading into a bedroom, a place where people had a tendency to be in states they wouldn't wish for others to see them in. While Philomena's lady's maid had undoubtedly seen her in a state of undress, her sister-in-law certainly didn't need to. Still, it could have been worse – it could have been Will.

Had it been her brother standing there, Tabby might well have died on the spot, if death by embarrassment were at all possible. As it were with Mena, she simply found herself somewhat flabbergasted, hand moving to cover her eyes. At least they were both ladies, nobody had caught anyone in a compromising position, and nobody else was around. That was about the only silver lining. "Philomena! I can only apologise. I was just – I was looking for – do you need a maid to help you?"
