Denial, it seemed, was a good friend of Colin's. Anthony's words hit him hard, though he was going to refuse to answer it, going to refuse to accept what his brother was saying. He was running away, he kept on running away from everything — when things had fallen apart with Marina, he'd decided to go and travel. Now, he was off again, claiming he simply wanted to see more of the world. It was a good excuse, especially when he truly was so desperate to find where he belonged, but his brother could read him better than he'd realised. 

"Who is to say I am running away from anything?" It was a feeble response, not true in the slightest. He was running, they all knew it. He refused to face his problems, his mistakes, all of the things he'd done over the last few years, things that had graced Whistledown, disappointed his family. Of course Anthony would be the one to point it out. He always was. "I enjoyed travelling, brother. Why would I not wish to do it again?"
