"Might I ask your opinion on something, sister?" 

Over the years, he'd come to think that Frannie was the most agreeable of his siblings. Anthony and Benedict were older and would disapprove, Daphne would react much the same, Eloise would roll her eyes, the younger two were still children...and then there was Frannie, the one he felt he could rely upon the most, for she wasn't nearly as infuriating as their other siblings could be. That was undoubtedly a compliment.

Had she been around when the Marina situation had been in play, perhaps things would have turned out differently. While he craved some sense of purpose and a place in the world, he often made mistakes, trying to prove he was his own person, and knew his own mind. He hadn't listened to anyone else back then, but he probably would have listened to her. Now, for the first time in awhile it felt, they were both in London — and he could speak to her candidly.

"Would it be foolish for me to go travelling again this season? While I am aware I am neither the oldest nor the biggest problem mother has—" That was, without a doubt, Eloise. "—I do wish to wed sooner rather than later, though I am not certain I have met any ladies who appeal. What is your opinion on the matter? I do not wish to approach mother nor Anthony with the idea of me travelling again. I do worry they may think I am becoming as avoidant as Eloise."

-------------------------------------------- Though she had not been fully present during the Marina Thompson situation, she knew much of it through not only Lady Whistledown, but also from her mama's letters. She wasn't hateful of Thompson, she understood her situation, she just wished she'd been more thoughtful toward her older brother during that whole situation. If she'd been present, she'd have offered him some comfort, a sensation he'd probably lacked while she was away at their aunt's home. She had been sitting behind the piano for the entirety of that morning, a day after she'd been presented to the queen. Much to her surprise, she'd been named diamond of the season. Frannie thought someone else would earn that title and so, when it was announced, she could not help her jaw from dropping ever so slightly. "Just avoid sending Eloise letters if you do," She commented jokingly, patting the empty seat next to her on the wooden bench. "I believe that you should remain here this season and stay by my side," It was a frightening time for her, as selfish as that sounded, and she needed her closest brother by her side. "But that is perhaps entitled of me to say, really." Frannie uttered softly.

He was proud of her, for why wouldn't he be? While it didn't matter entirely whether or not she was the diamond, for she was still bound to prove herself to be a wonderful debutante, and find the perfect gentleman to marry, it was still exciting to have that. Their mother had certainly seemed thrilled, and so had she. Of course it would be daunting for her now, it was bound to be a lot of pressure. While he could hardly know what that felt like, he could imagine it would be hard.

"I think I learnt that the hard way," he told her, with a laugh. Eloise hadn't exactly held back (not that she ever did), informing him that she had found his letters and talk of his travels quite irritating. He knew that now, definitely wouldn't be writing to her...but maybe Fran was right, maybe he should stay.

Moving to sit beside her, he let his fingers brush over the keys of the piano, never actually pressing down or making a sound. He simply letting his hands act, while he thought. "Not entitled at all, I understand. Anthony is hardly going to be as present this season, now he has Kate, and I know you need support. Are you frightened? Nervous? Worried?"
