it is my duty to Gloucester & Edinburgh There was not a great deal of sport or activities Arthur engaged in without his father's voice in his ear. Anything he did, he was expected to excel in -- despite the impossibility of it. So a hunting trip, though meant to be in good fun and for sport . . . was more than merely a leisurely activity. He knew that if he found nothing of impressive nature to return home, his father would be disappointed. Displeased. And dismissive. The latter often being the worst for it meant that he felt the former two to such an extent. Never the less, it was not enough of a risk for Arthur to not engage in such activities, so readying himself for the trip, he made his way.
Fortunately, it was not with a large group but rather, one of his dear friends Thomas. It was fortunate, for Arthur did not wish to be so guarded in his speech and even action. With Thomas, Arthur knew he could just be Arthur and not the future heir of the dukedom. Additionally, Thomas was quite a good sportsman so Arthur enjoyed his company even more. "Tawney," he greeted as he met him at the agreed upon place. "It is just you and I presume for our hunting trip?" Wanting to ensure that plans had not changed and there was no one else Thomas wished to invite. Arthur hoped not yet would not postpone their trip if the numbers were to increase.
