Since her husband died Frannie found herself in a dark, dark place. Only days after losing John she lost the child she was carrying so she went to her family's house hoping that being there might help her start to pick up the pieces of her life.

When all the family was gathered Frannie noticed that Sophie was pregnant.

If she was being honest, it was not exactly something that had been planned. Of course, she had always dreamed about being a mother, hoping for it, but she still found herself rather surprised and thankful, excited to be a mother and further, excited to see Benedict as a father. She was slightly nervous about sharing with her family, but excited at the very same time, and there was no hiding it. 

It was clear that the realization had not yet hit Sophie, greeting the fellow members of the Bridgerton household before approaching Francesca, smile on her face, hand reaching for her shoulder. "How have you been, Frannie?"

Frannie had been staring at Sophie's belly lost in thought about the baby she had lost, would she always remember that?  Would it always be painful when she did?  She didn't want to feel this way, she didn't want her unhappiness to ever overshadow the happiness she felt for her sister in law and her brother.  They deserved to be happy and they would be wonderful parents.

Pushing her unhappy thoughts to the back of her mind Frannie forced a bright smile on her face as she greeted Sophie.  I am very well thank you Sophie and I see that you are glowing.  Congratulations, its always good to have another Bridgerton on the way.
