It was a strange thing, finding home for the first time not in a place but in a person, or persons. Writing had been her home. Words in books that she read by the moonlight in her childhood room before she was allowed a lit candle in her room, then words in her own journal, waking up with ink on her fingers and staining her cheeks. It was something that she was certain that she would only ever locate within her own home but oh how wrong she had been. It was not an immediate feeling but now that it was here it was something that was unshakeable about it. Her home was in Phillip Crane’s eyes, in his lovely smile, in the laughter of his children. She wanted to share her former home with her new one, and she knew she would have to, but she had not expected the summons from the Viscount for the entirety of the Bridgerton family to gather in celebration of their mother's birthday and... well... that was not an invitation that she was going to turn down and so, for the first time since taking the last name Crane, they were on their way.
In truth, Eloise was unsure if he had been to London, or if his children had. They would one day she was sure, for Amanda and Oliver's entrance into their society, attempting to find a spouse but that, thankfully was not for awhile. This would be a trip of relaxation, a ball or two, perhaps, but nothing more. Or, at least, that was what she hoped.
Regardless, a walk in the garden, or a rather a run for the children, them engaging in a game of tag before her eyes as she walked with her husband arm in arm at a much slower pace. Tonight was one of the balls that she had requested they attend, Eloise not entirely sure what to expect as not only would it be their first time out in society as a married couple, which was something Eloise cared little about though her sisters were extremely overjoyed and enthused about. What Eloise was thinking about, though was the fact that this was the first time she would spend at a ball with him and well... she did not have the best track record at these events before hand. She was not so certain what to expect...
Looking for somewhere to turn, her eyes fell upon Phillip's, home, and her shoulders relaxed slightly, hand resting over his and squeezing slightly, smiling, hoping he'd look to her and find comfort in her grin. "What is on your mind?" Her head tilted, though the smile did not falter from her lips, shoulders not tensing at all. "It is only us walking now. You can be fully honest in any discomfort or negative emotions." A silent plea hidden in those words- Trust in me. I'll listen. I'll help. In any and everyway I can.
