| As of late, Adam had been spending an unhealthy amount of time working. His ambitions for international expansion (or “world domination” as his wife had nicknamed it) had grown into an obsession. An obsession that had been rapidly sapping his energy, consuming his time, and left Adam feeling as though he had spent the last few weeks sailing down the river Styx. It had gotten to a point where flesh and bone would be present wherever he was physically, but the rest of him would be unaccounted for. So, in an attempt to free himself from his work-centric state of mind, Adam had made arrangements to spend the weekend with his entire family at the Davenport estate in London.
The timing for this weekend off seemed perfect as it would allow Adam to check in with each of his siblings. He wondered if Lizzie was ready to deal with the ton again after losing her fiancé, or if Emily the young romantic of the family would keep her romanticized world view after the reality of the season settled in. Event though he knew his sisters could fend for themselves, he couldn't help but worry. Both his sisters were romantics, even though Elizabeth tried to hide it and he just didn’t want that character trait to be taken advantage of. All of these thoughts ran through the mind of the eldest davenport while he sat in the back of his black barouche with crimson rims. His face was buried in a newspaper, but the rhythmic clip-clop from the hooves of the large shires that pulled his carriage announced his arrival to the staff that had already been awaiting his arrival.
As the gates swung open, Adam lowered his newspaper and offered an effortless smile to the member of staff that had opened the gate for him, then his carriage came to a halt. ” Thank you, James. My wife and son will also be arriving shortly, please alert me of their arrival so that I might help you with their bags” Immediately after Adam had spoken, the two large shires that had been pulling his barouche huffed and grunted impatiently. Standing still didn’t seem enjoyable to the large warhorses that pulled his carriage, so he gave the sign for the driver to proceed past the gates and into the estate. The moment the carriage was parked in front of the house and the carriage door opened, two Doberman sprung out of the carriage like bullets. The dogs immediately started running and playing around the property while Adam walked into the house.
The man strode into the house with a nonchalant strut. To his surprise, the house was silent which felt completely unnatural. Usually, the soothing sounds of a piano would welcome you into the home if you had arrived during one of his sisters' practice sessions, if not you would be welcomed by laughter or at least the sounds of his half-sister Hannah. But today, there was nothing.
Adam shrugged off the odd silence and continued calmly strolling through the silent house. Since there was no music playing, he figured the music room would be empty. So, the next best place to check was the library. Upon entering the library, he noticed his younger sister Elizabeth, reading as usual. So, Adam proceeded to slowly walk up behind her as silently as possible. Then without warning, he covered her eyes with his hands while remaining quiet just to see if she could tell who had covered her eyes without hearing his voice.

.:Name:. Adam Davenport .:Nick Name:. n/a .:Rank:. Noble .:Age:. 33
| ~ • ~ | Appearance | ~ • ~ |
.:Physical Appearance:. Adam stands at a height of 6ft with a decently muscular build, his hair is black and is often kept short. The man’s grooming is immaculate, and his eyes are a dark shade of brown with a thoughtful and focused expression in them. Adam loves clothing and often has the finest tailored suits made for him. .:Height:. 6ft 0 .:Portrayed by:. Luke Evans
| ~ • ~ | Personality | ~ • ~ |
.:Personality:. Calm, pensive, eloquent, and quick-witted. These words are often used to describe the eldest of the Davenport children. Adam often comes off as stoic and secretive from a distance, but when you take the time to sit down and converse with him, he is charismatic and well-spoken. He doesn’t particularly like being the center of attention, but he is more than capable of using his calm and charming nature to woo and manipulate a crowd for his benefit, or the benefit of his family.
From the outside, Adam has a reputation for being pensive, detached, and a bit reserved. These traits were never inborn, but instead were characteristics that he developed as he got older and took on more responsibilities for his family. Years of grooming from his father have made him seem a bit cold and calculating, often prioritizing strategy and logic over his own feelings. But the true Adam, before he took on his duties was easy going, charismatic, spontaneous, and witty. He never took himself too seriously and was compassionate toward people regardless of their rank.
In truth, Adam is always waging an internal battle between his more compassionate, fun-loving, and easy-going true self, or the cold and calculating leader he has been groomed to be. When around his family and closest friends, his true personality seems to take the wheel and allows him to let his guard down, which allows him to be his nonchalant and charismatic self. But around the lot or company he is not accustomed to, his second personality often comes to light.
Like most firstborn children, Adam is extremely protective of his family, even the ones that dislike him. He has no problems breaking the law or making people disappear to keep his family safe, and has discretely done some pretty shady stuff to protect his family in the past. His one goal is to further grow the wealth and power of his family (the reason he became a banker), which often leads to Adam partaking in some legally and morally ambiguous dealings for the sake of his family. His occupation as a part-owner of a merchant bank often puts him in a position to make several shady business arrangements with other nobles, criminals, and even foreign governments when needed. These illegal dealings are obviously hidden from his family to maintain his image as their kind, witty and fun older brother, father, and husband to them.
.:Skills:. Marksmanship: Ever since he was a child, Adam has always had sharp eyes and impeccable aim. Whether he’s crumpling up an old document into a ball and tossing it into a bin across the room or shooting a deer at more than 200 yards away, Adam will almost always hit his target with a frightening degree of accuracy.
His love for marksmanship started when one of the stable boys at his family’s country estate made him a wooden slingshot for his 5th birthday. Despite getting many fancier toys on that birthday, the wooden slingshot seemed to be his favorite and was used daily to shoot tin cans, birds, etc. And as Adam grew older, he began using rifles to hunt, which further improved his marksmanship. Animal training: Adam was a wild child in his youth, and preferred being in nature over being indoors when he was young. Due to the large age gap between him and his siblings, Adam mostly had no one to play with when he was at the family’s country estate. So, he would spend most of his time helping the stable boys tend to the family horses when he had spare time. This helped him develop great skills with domestic animals such as horses and dogs.
To this day he still loves animals and is exceptionally good at taking care of them as well as training them. Adam particularly loves raising and training Doberman, a species of dog from Germany known for their high intelligence and trainability. Adam has two Dobermans that are extremely disciplined and trained with military precision. They are his guard dogs and hunting companions.
Well Read: As his father’s heir, Adam has had high expectations placed upon him from birth. And to ensure that Adam could live up to these expectations, his parents made sure to hire the best tutors they could afford to teach him economics, mathematics, history, and many other subjects. His parents made sure to instill in him the importance of knowledge, and to this day Adam makes sure to set aside time to read up on new topics to expand his worldview and to teach himself as much as possible. Dancing: This was a skill he had no choice but to master. Because Adam is the son of a marquess, his life would obviously be full of formal dances and other social events that required him to dance with women, so his mother made sure he was well prepared. Throughout his childhood, his mother forced him to attend dance classes whether he wanted to or not. He distinctly remembers her yelling “No son of mine will be stepping on a lady’s toes!” whenever he protested his weekly dance lessons. Today he is a masterful dancer because of her, and he thanks his late mother for that.

.:Occupation:. Earl, Runs a merchant bank(With another noble family as his business partners)
.:History:. Adam spent most of his childhood on the Davenport country estate, his early years were carefree and filled with countless adventures in the countryside that involved hunting trips, horse races and many other sorts of shenanigans children get up to in the country. Sure, there were times when he had to put up with strict teachers that his parents hired to educate him, but for the most part, life was good.
But these fun times did not last long, the moment he turned 10 his parents had a very serious conversation with him about what being the family heir meant and the responsibilities it would entail. Obviously, a 10-year-old Adam didn’t understand most of it, but what he did understand was that he’d be attending more lessons per week with the expensive tutors his parents had hired to educate him. In addition, his own father would begin having private weekly lessons with him to further groom his heir.
This sudden change from neigh unlimited freedom to a life full of learning and training was a lot to get used to for Adam. But as he grew older he adjusted rather quickly. As Adam grew older, his father began taking him along to London and other cities on business trips, occasionally they would even travel out of England whenever Charles Davenport needed to handle diplomatic issues in foreign places. These trips that Charles often took with his heir were to further groom Adam and give him a glimpse of the responsibilities he’d later need to handle, and although these trips were quite educational and they also sparked a love of travel in the young Davenport.
In his teen years, Adam’s grooming and training for his role as heir continued, but whenever he had free time he would travel to different places around England to partially satiate his desire for traveling. By the time had turned 18, Adam had already made plans to travel to different parts of Europe to expand his horizons, but his trip through Europe was cut short when the season began. As you’d expect, his parents were quite excited about the prospect of finding their eldest son a wife, but Adam didn’t care much for it. So, when the season began, Adam had planned to purposely sabotage his parent’s efforts to find him a suitable match, he had intended to subtly sabotage himself, so he wouldn’t have a match for at least another year, which would grant him the freedom he wanted to take a trip through Europe without worrying about courting someone.
As planned, Adam purposely didn’t match with any of the young women that he met during the season, and as soon as it ended, he proceeded to travel through Europe as planned. The following year, Adam’s parents brought up the idea of finding a match again when he was 19, but he was clearly more interested in his studies and travel, so they allowed him to pursue his interests a bit longer. But as the years passed; his parents grew more concerned. By the time he had turned 23, his parents had a serious conversation with him about finding a potential wife. So, he entertained the idea of the season once more and This time, Adam actually found a woman that piqued his interest. It was her first season but the two got on quite well. And although he really did care for her, he simply had too many things to do. So he couldn’t court her at that time.
Because during that time, Adam also worked closely with his father’s contacts to establish a small private bank that catered to the specific needs of niche businesses which regular banks often overlooked or treated like regular businesses. And as the small private bank he co-owned grew, so did the need for travel. Business for the bank required him to travel to America than to France that year, and he didn’t think she’d wait for him while he traveled for work. So, he left without courting the woman he was interested in. When he returned to England a year later, Adam found out that she had become engaged to another man who had fallen ill and died of the consumption halfway through their engagement. Because the woman he had an interest in was in the grieving process, Adam had essentially given up on her. So, he was surprised to see her when the season began the following year after her grieving period was over. Since the two had an eye on each other for some time, and the spark was still there between them, they essentially began courting. And a few months later they were engaged.
With a new fiancé and family responsibilities, Adam was pushed to work much harder in order to provide a good life for his wife to be. With a bit of time and a lot of networking with powerful people, the small private bank he had established with his business partners became a much larger Merchant bank. Which opened more avenues for business and more possibilities for the Davenport family to gain power. Due to Adam’s occupation as a part-owner of a merchant bank, opportunities for shady dealings have been presented but he is currently unsure how he feels about it, as he does wish to grow the Davenport family power. By the end of the year, his income had grown considerably and it allowed Adam to marry his fiancé.
For a while life seemed good, with a new wife, a rapidly growing business, and a happy family. But when Adam turned 28 his mother fell Ill and succumbed to bronchitis. It was a difficult loss and one he hasn’t fully recovered from. But it has forced him to step up and further embrace his role as the protector and caretaker of his siblings.
