.:Birthplace:. London, England .:Family:. Mother: Anna Beaumont, Father: Gregory Beaumont [deceased], Uncle: Charles Beaumont [deceased], Aunt: Eliza Beaumont, Sister: Isabella Beaumont .:Occupation:. Viscount/ Nobleman .:History:.
Benjamin was born in London to a loving family. His mother, Anna, was kind, with the voice of an angel, his father forthright with an infectious laugh and charming disposition. They were happy, but with the addition of Benjamin they were over the moon. After years of trying, they finally had their miracle baby boy, their heir. The three were close and though the couple were desperate for another they settled on the fact little Benjamin was miracle enough. The boy and his mother were nearly inseparable as although a wonderful husband and father, Gregory had a lot on his plate. His brother, Charles never let him forget that and kept him squarely amongst the duties of Viscount as Charles himself settled on whatever pursuits could earn him a title or fast funds since his brother had been granted what Charles felt he so woefully had deserved. Benjamin’s father was generous, but there was nothing of his own that he could seemingly keep to just himself and the family of three if it were up to his younger brother.
Isabella was a surprise, but the most splendid surprise they could have been gifted. Benjamin was only five turning six, but he could remember the joy in both his mothers and fathers’ eyes when they learned of the news and told him of his forthcoming baby sister. She was beautiful with dark brown hair, and eyes that sparkled like emeralds in the sunlight. But the sun would soon set on the Beaumont estate.
Not more than a year after Isabella’s birth their father died in a hunting accident while in Cornwall with his brother. An accident that shared with it rumors and scandal as many believed it to not have been accidental at all. The small family was crushed, and his uncle was quick to step into his father’s shoes or try to. Uncle Charles had barely allowed the time for mourning before he and Anna were to be wed. Benjamin could see how broken his mother was although at such an age he couldn’t quite understand any of it. All the boy knew was his Mother barely smiled anymore unless they were alone and that he missed his father and the booming laughter that used to round the corners of their once warm home.
Charles, the youngest of the Beaumonts had wanted everything his brother had, and now he’d gotten it to the dismay of many. The man was nothing like his brother, not kind, nor funny, not charming, nor pleasant. Charles was like a storm cloud quick of temper, with a voice that roared like thunder, and a fondness for disciplining it would seem. Benjamin’s world had gone from sunny summer skies to silent frigid winters in the blink of an eye and there was little end in sight to the climate’s change.
Anna did what she could to ensure the home still felt like, well, like home, she tried to keep a sunny temperament within the small confines of the nursery, the gardens, anywhere Charles’s presence did not commonly pollute. That’s what he chose to remember. From a young age Benjamin took on the role of father and brother for his young sister, Isabella, for Uncle Charles hadn’t wanted children. He’d especially not wanted a girl, fragile and useless as he believed they were. Benjamin wanted to be nothing like the man.
Uncle Charles lived on barking orders and sullying the name his father had once made for them, much to the annoyance and chagrin of the young Viscount heir. But even this storm would pass, only it would take far longer than it should. By the age of twenty Benjamin had become the rightful Viscount when his uncle was bested in a duel. He now held the title, the estate, the Beaumont name (which was in need of remedy), a mother that deserved better, and a sister who needed to be shown that life could be more than the glum dreary days Uncle Charles had so long brought upon their family home.
