Tag: lennie1 Note: Better layout coming soon! i will ALWAYS PROTECT YOU Anthony truly lived for such moments. To see Hyacinth so happy, so excited. The large smile that swelled his heart with joy, knowing that he could do something -- anything -- to draw that reaction from her. A paternal pride indeed, seeing his youngest sister so thrilled about what little he could offer her. He knew he would never be as good as his father, not even a fraction as great . . . so these moments, of seeing genuine happiness and joy from his siblings . . . were ones he most cherished. When she drew back, her voice suddenly becoming almost serious, Anthony continued to smile at her 'warning'.
❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ "I would not dream of it," he told her. He understood her tone just as he was certain she understood his. Words exchanged that he would not let her win but inside . . . he knew that he would. She knew that he would. It never had to be acknowledged but it was understood. Hyacinth was perhaps the only one he would ever let win in Pall Mall. Anthony -- like his other siblings who played -- took the game very seriously. It was perhaps the only time the Bridgerton children could be rightfully called liars and cheats. But not with Hyacinth.
❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ "I am certain that you will learn quickly, and come out victorious." She was, perhaps the best of them all in so many ways. "Perhaps this calls for a trip to Aubrey Hall," he suggested. Instead of sending for the mallets and balls, they may as well go there themselves. It was not a trip that Anthony often took . . . but considering what the day marked, he imagined going now would not be any less painful. Perhaps, it was a way to further honor his father's memory.

Tag: lennie2 Note: Better layout coming soon! i will ALWAYS PROTECT YOU Anthony smiled at Penelope's comment as to Eloise possibly disliking them talking about her. Ah yes. She did come by information rather quickly. "It would be all kind words of course," he said with a bit of a tease in his voice, as if he wouldn't even dream of speaking ill about his sister. Though, the truth was . . . he did not do so often. Not without the person standing right now, though his frustrations were more so directed at his brothers. He did not speak ill of those in his family in the wrong company, in the wrong setting. And lord help whoever attempted to speak ill towards them in his presence.
❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ "It certainly would not surprise me if she was already set on that path," Anthony said. When it came to Whistledown, Eloise did hold a strong curiosity. And when his sister had unsatisfied curiosity . . . she would go to extreme lengths to rectify it. He knew he could not really dance with her too frequently without it causing whispers . . . but this was also the benefits of having two other brothers old enough to attend such events.
❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ "I should sincerely hope so." He hated bullies; Cressida being one of the worst ones of all. "It has been a pleasure, Ms. Featherington," he told her. With a smile, and final nod, he swiftly turned to walk from the dance floor and back into the crowd . . . his eyes searching for his brothers should their presence be required to come to the aid of any more women on the receiving end of Cressida -- or anyone else's -- cruelty.

Anthony's Headcanons These are just some headcanons I have for Anthony based on the book [The Viscount Who Loved Me] and of course from the show! If anything happens in the show to conflict with these headcanons, I will edit them! I will also keep adding on to this list!
- Anthony has a crippling fear of bees, believing that they are venomous and their sting is poisonous.
- Anthony believes he will not live past 38 years of age, and this accounts for a lot of the decisions he makes and the way he lives his life. He knows that this is an irrational belief, so does not tell anyone about it, but never the less, he is convinced that he will not surpass his father's age.
- Anthony gets fiercely competitive with his siblings during Pall Mall; he favours the black mallet and has even named it The Mallet Of Death.
- Anthony does not go to Aubrey Hall often as it holds too many painful memories of his father.
- Anthony studied history and literature.
- Anthony does not take to losing well, not accustomed to it whether its horse racing, cards, Pall Mall, etc.
- Anthony lived out his early and mid 20s with rather . . . rakish behaviour, sometimes having 2 mistresses at one time.
- Anthony has only ever gotten drunk a couple of times in his life.
- Anthony had the strongest bond with his father, having spent the more time with it out of all his siblings.
- Anthony is often quite uncomfortable talking about himself, especially where his past -- particularly about his father -- and his own emotions are concerned. He will usually try to divert the conversation to something else, like his siblings.
- Weeping women make Anthony uncomfortable.

Tag: ali Note: Better layout coming soon! i will ALWAYS PROTECT YOU Anthony motioned for her to have a seat, assuming this would not be a brief conversation. If he was under the belief that it was, he would not have taken her to an entirely different room, nor would he imagine she would have asked for a private word. She told him that Sophie was fine and Anthony just gave a nod at that. It felt odd, to refer to her so casually when . . . he was aware that his family had been doing so considering she'd been a maid for them. His knowledge of her was no so great. His interactions with her more limited than that of his mother and sisters . . . and clearly Benedict.
❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ He remained silent, allowing her to speak as he listened attentively to what she had to say. "Yes," he began to agree. "It does seem as if quite a bit happened in a short period of time." Agreeing with her speaking of the reason they had not spoken sooner . . . rush of these affairs. Before their announced marriage, last he had heard was that she had been arrested. She continued to speak of having many questions, and also acknowledging Anthony's own questions that he must have.
❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ He did indeed have quite a few, and yet none immediately came to mind right now. He knew, it would be most improper to just blurt them out. Despite her status of being a former maid . . . she was soon going to be a Bridgerton. His sister in law. But that did not mean trust for her was instantaneous. Hell, he had been such good friends with Simon for so many years and the moment he saw the man's hands upon his sister, he was willing to shoot at him.
❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ Anthony let silence linger once she finished speaking, knowing it did not do much to ease the flow of conversation, nor appear less intimidating as he had interpreted his mother's look before departing the room. But, as Anthony previously silent acknowledged, he had to choose his words with care. "Forgive me then, for being direct," he began to say, knowing he'd have to watch his tone. With a man, it was different. With a woman . . . he had to be more careful.
❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ "But I do question your intentions." Obviously, they were to marry his brother, Anthony was no fool, and so he continued on. "It is no secret that my family has been on the receiving end of . . . questionable suitors." Nigel, Marina . . . though the situation with Marina was foremost on his mind. Because she had lured Colin and used him and his name, to secure a father and position for her unborn child. And, it had all happened because of hasty decisions.
❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ That entire scandal was no secret as it had been published in Whistledown's column, and the only saving grace of it was that it did not create any sense of belief that Colin was aware of Marina's condition. "And my mother and brother are set to pursue this union, hastily." And Anthony did not like that it was happening so quickly without taking the time to properly assess the situation. Or, to allow him to take the time to properly assess it. "But I for one, question the reason and need for such haste." Without directly accusing her, he let it be known that he did not approve of this happening so quickly.
❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ Just as he had not approved of it with Colin, and once again, Anthony had been proven right in that situation -- which did nothing to ease his confidence in such matters. So yes, without directly accusing her, he brought up both the subject of intentions and cause for a rushed wedding . . . allowing her to response where she saw fit. Should there be the need to be more direct, Anthony would not shy away from it. He merely hoped he did not have to be so . . . blunt. Or at least more blunt than he already was being.

i will ALWAYS PROTECT YOU Anthony continued to walk alongside Lewis, offering polite nods and smiles to passerbys who acknowledged their presence. No one would say anything to him upfront -- neither of them -- and without a scene to witness, the crowd started to dissipate. Besides, they would not remain in their line of gaze for long. Hence, the short journey to the park. He did not have to look at Lewis to know that the man was now faced with the . . . realization of his actions.
❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ Previous curiosity and intrigue of seeing the man in such a state of uncontrolled rage continued to force back any questions that may trigger the man once more. Anthony's desire to help outweighed his curious nature -- for the time being. But when Lewis apologized, Anthony briefly glanced at him, before turning back to the path ahead. The Viscount was even biting back a smile of amusement . . . though he knew he should not be amused. Perhaps it was just, the unexpectedness. "Well, I will say that I am quite relieved that I was not on the other side of those doors." And thus, on the receiving end of Anwyl's anger.
❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ Ah yes. Withholding a smile was growing increasingly difficult indeed. "It will soon be forgotten," he assured Lewis. "At least by spectators." An added comment as he looked to the surgeon, trying to receive any indication that this was something troubling enough to linger with the man. He also appeared to still be clutching onto something but still attempting to avoid direct questions that may lead to another outburst . . . Anthony held his tongue and withdrew his glance from the surgeon.

i will ALWAYS PROTECT YOU Anthony gave a very short, brief smile . . . mostly to remain polite rather than an expression of joviality. He gave a quick nod, relieved that Lewis had agreed and that whatever . . . anger had prompted him to yell and curse, subsided enough for the man to remove himself from this situation. "Very good," Anthony added as he motioned for Lewis to turn and step forward, falling in step next to the surgeon.
❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ Either Anthony's company would assist Lewis in this matter to help wane any rumours or words to harm the man, considering the fact that he himself was a Viscount. Being in his presence could certainly help Lewis' situation. Or, it could go the other way, and Anthony could be a part of the whispers. Never the less, this situation was not dire enough to not be quickly deflated. Of that much, Anthony was certain. His confidence remained as did his poise and composure. "There is a park not far," he continued to tell him.
❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ "I find such sights of greenery to be quite, calming." Another indication that Lewis certainly needed something to help relax him; help put him at ease. It would also help create some more space between him and others. For right now, the street was far too narrow to be able to accomplish that. And while the Viscount knew he should not ask nor pry . . . he could not help but feel, strangely curious as to what could have possibly set off Lewis in such a manner. A manner that Anthony would not have believed had he not witnessed it himself.

i will ALWAYS PROTECT YOU Anthony had been in the area to meet a friend and once their time together had ended . . . he decided to walk about before heading back to his family's estate. The weather was most agreeable and it was nice to clear one's head once in wh--"Well, devil fucking take the lot of you, then! The next time you require a surgeon, I hope you have no one to turn to but untrained, useless idiots!" Anthony couldn't right claim that he would have seen Lewis had the man not been . . . yelling.
❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ The Viscount was across the street yet the familiar voice had drawn him -- as it had many others -- to the scene. A rather, loud and boisterous scene indeed. One with raised curses and . . . and the Parliament building. Anthony knew he had a couple of choices here. He could simply walk away, and not engage in this . . . disagreeable behaviour. Not associating himself with it. Or, he could intervene and save Lewis from further public humiliation and whispers.
❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ In the end, it was not really a choice. It was clear which one was the right thing to do. Had it been a stranger, perhaps Anthony would have chosen the former route. But because it was Lewis Anwyl. . . well, he did feel bad for the man. And if there was one thing Anthony was, it was loyal to a friend. Well, so long as that friend did nothing to compromise one of his sisters or brothers . . . and Lewis clearly, was not of the sort.
❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ Perhaps the only reason that Anthony had even paused in his inaction, was due to the surprise to see Lewis in such a manner which had numbed him. But the Viscount quickly regained himself, and crossed the street to where Lewis had been shouting at the now closed doors. "Mr. Anwyl," he greeted, stepping in front of Lewis so that the man was forced to look at him.
❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ "Would you care to accompany me for a walk?" Anthony continued, his eyes scanning the people on the street who had all paused to witness the scene. Anthony's gaze returned to Lewis as the Bridgerton heir shifted closer to Anwyl and lowered his voice. "And in the process, resist further expression of grievances you may have at present." A bit of . . . warning to the man. That people were watching and that it be best he be removed from this current position.

"A fair point," he told her, giving credit to a valid remark where it was due. "Though I suppose that if I was to consider it, an expected woman of discussion would have been Eloise." Knowing how close she was to his sister.
❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ "Less comforting of one, Lady Copwer," he added on in jest; though it had been that very woman indeed who had even prompted them to talk in the first place under such circumstances. As the dance drew to an end, Anthony lowered his arms and stood directly in front of Penelope, giving a small bow. "I hope the rest of your evening will be without discomfort. But should anyone prove to be, disrespectful, please do leave space for my name on your dance card."

Tag: lennie1 Note: Better layout coming soon! i will ALWAYS PROTECT YOU Anthony could not help but smile at what she wished to hear about. Pall Mall and of course, time spent with his father. "That we did," he confirmed, his smile unwavering. The memories of his father he held so dear and yet, speaking of them he felt the need to withhold emotions from surfacing; he supposed ones he had long suppressed and had not quite yet dealt with. "I am fairly certain he let me win on many occasions," Anthony told her. Deep down he had always known, but in the moment, he enjoyed the feeling of victory.
❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ "He taught Benedict and I together," he further explained. "We were not much older than you in fact," he told her with a fond smile. Her latter words further reminder of all that Hyacinth, and the others, missed when it came to having a father. A true father. "If there is anything you would like to learn, I am happy to teach you," he offered to her.
❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ While he knew there was no question about it, he wanted to reassure of that. As he previously thought, he knew he could not truly take the place of a father . . . or rather, their father. But, he did not wish for Hyacinth to want for anything when it was within Anthony's capability to grant it to her. Especially if it was time spent teaching her whatever she wished to learn. Even something like Pall Mall.

i will ALWAYS PROTECT YOU Sleep did not always come easy, and it was not solely the case for Anthony. There were times where another sibling of his found themselves up at late hours of the night. When he was younger, in the early years of his father's passing . . . Anthony had felt responsible to ensure everyone was asleep before he found rest himself. It would cause him to work in his study well through the night, keeping a watchful eye to ensure his siblings remained sleeping; ensuring that they were not troubled and wandering around the house.
❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ As time passed, this fixation had waned . . . but never truly dissipated. Seeing Eloise now, after he had finished his work, brought back such feelings. Such . . . determinations. She told him that she was not going to go back to sleep tonight, which meant she was familiar with this elusion of sleep. Furthermore, telling him to go to sleep and that she would be up a few more hours. So not to worry mother. Anthony just watched her, silently moving to sit comfortably in the chair across from her own seated position, sinking down a little on it nonchalantly.
❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ "Worry me instead then," he told her with a smile, a bit of tease in his voice but . . . he meant it. He agreed in that he would not wish to worry their mother about this. But that did not mean he could so easily walk away from her. So instead, though he would offer her some reason for his remaining presence as she encouraged him to find rest. "When we were younger, I was never able to sleep unless I knew all of you were." Sleeping, that is.
❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ "The thought of one of you, unable to find the comfort or peace of a restful sleep, keeping me from my own." He did not say this to arouse sympathy nor the need for condolences. He was hardly such a person that sought his brothers and sisters to worry for him or sympathize or even feel guilty for anything. No. That was his job. "It seems not much has changed." For he saw her now, awake, unable to rest and . . . it made it feel impossible for him to go to his own bed, even with her assurances. "Should you not wish to talk about what keeps you from sleep, then perhaps I can at least offer you some company." His words an offer for her to talk should she desire, or not should she prefer. Either way, Anthony wished to be here for her in whatever capacity she permitted.

i will ALWAYS PROTECT YOU Anthony smiled with a hint of amusement as Hippolyte spoke of retaining focus in conversation. It was rather interesting, meeting the man under drastically different circumstances. Taking notice of different aspects of him that a younger, less burdened Anthony may not have quite perceived the same way. It was indeed a part of growing up, but also life experiences that may alter one's perception. Never the less, the man having been an important friend to Edmund, would forever remain in good graces and approached with welcome arms among the Bridgerton family.
❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ "Very well," Anthony began to say. "Shall we focus month by month or on a yearly basis?" He asked him, unable to help the tease as his words were meant in jest. "Tell me first, beyond all else, are you and your family well?" While he could see Hippolyte appeared well, Anthony knew that looks could indeed be deceiving, and he wished to know the well being of his own family. Whether it grew or not. "We all held concern for you, so I can not tell you enough how good it is to see you now." The absence of the man having prompted concern among his father prior to his passing, as he considered the man a good friend.
