This could not be happening. She was stuck in a room with her former lover's sister and there was simply neither of them could do about it, given the lack of windows and a proper key. They could perhaps yell for someone to hear them, but considering where they were, it was highly unlikely. How on earth did they even end up in such a predicament? One second, she had offered Eloise Bridgerton a thread and needle to help her sew her dress up and now the door closed on them and locked. She should have known better. Siena should have kept her eye on that damned door. They were at a ball together and the singer had just finished performing a number, before mingling among the royalty and nobility for a moment. Eloise just seemed like an individual in need and knowing how it felt to have your fabric ripped (her brother was not part of that particular thought), it truly wasn't the best feeling. "What are we to do, my lady?" At least there was a bottle of wine on one of the tables. @eloisebridgerton | "Most maidens are perfectly capable of rescuing themselves in my experience, at least the ONE'S worth something, in any case."

eloise & siena. There were far worse people Eloise could have found herself stuck with — try just about any of the young ladies or gentlemen of the ton — but being stuck at all was hardly ideal. At least there was no scandal attached, for she wasn't unchaperoned with a gentleman, and there was nobody like Cressida to drive her absolutely up the wall. Siena, however, was hardly someone she knew well, if at all. She'd seen her around, knew that she sang, and had been nice enough to offer to help her out here...but that was all. She was entirely unaware of any other connection between them, though it certainly seemed as if they'd have plenty of time to get to know each other, before someone came along to let them out. There were no other exits, no way of contacting anyone to inform them of their whereabouts, which meant they were quite stuck until someone either tried the door, or heard them calling for help. It seemed a waste of time to continuously bang on the door, nobody would be near those parts of the estate until everyone was heading home for the evening. For the time being, it seemed like she may as well give in to the fact they were quite stuck. "Wait, I suppose," she muttered, nose scrunching at the thought. Eloise never did like to admit defeat, never did like to give up. She was too stubborn, too strong-willed, and too hard-headed...but this time, it seemed they were out of options. Perhaps it could be a blessing in disguise, for she and Siena would hardly have gotten much of an opportunity to talk otherwise, and she couldn't help but respect a woman who was working, who was making her own way in the world. "Start on the wine, hope somebody finds us eventually — and they're bound to. By the end of the night, at least, my mama and at least one of my brothers will realise I've disappeared. I would hope they'd come looking before they thought to get the Bow Street runners involved. For now, though, I believe we're stuck. I must admit, I am rather relieved it is with you."[attr="class","mizocredit"] [newclass=.mizocredit a]font:bold 6pt calibri;letter-spacing:1px;color:#b5d1f1;[/newclass]

| -------------------------------------------- Perhaps this had been her first sign to leave London for good. She had been there for too long and since she'd parted ways with both Anthony Bridgerton and her former betrothed, Siena felt like she had nothing left there except for her ongoing career. Then again, she could recreate herself somewhere else. She had the voice and the appearance. What on earth was she doing by remaining in an area where she would not be accepted into a society she sang for? They praised her on the evenings she performed, but they would never truly accept her for who she was.
Just her art.
Picking up the bottle of wine off the table, she uncorked it and poured them both glasses near the brim. Smiling slightly, Siena offered it to the younger woman, "I must confess, I am incredibly thankful that I was not born a lady," She commented, knowing well it must have been uncomfortable sometimes for people like Eloise. "However, I do not doubt that many men have fawned over you." |

eloise & siena. “Is that supposed to be a good thing?” Men fawning over her had never appealed to Eloise. It wasn’t the sort of existence she craved, and even though she recognised her life was far easier than Siena’s, she wished she had the choice to make her own way in the world. Clearly it wasn’t like Siena had chosen to do so, but that was part of society’s problem too — the lack of choice, the assumption that women from certain parts of society should behave in certain ways, want certain things. In the world Eloise so craved, they’d both have that choice. With a sigh, she moved to sit down and take a sip of the wine. She’d had glasses of wine with dinner long before she turned eighteen, but even now she was of age, she wasn’t quite used to such a large glass. It was, however, more than welcome. “I’m certain men would trip over themselves for my dowry and the connection to the Bridgerton name — but I have no interest in getting married. Why should my dream be simply to be the property of some loathsome gentleman? Why should I wish to be silent and full of babies? Perhaps some young ladies truly dream of that, but I simply cannot fathom it. The world is so vast, there is many places we could travel it only we were permitted to. If society were different, is this the life you would want?” [attr="class","mizocredit"] [newclass=.mizocredit a]font:bold 6pt calibri;letter-spacing:1px;color:#b5d1f1;[/newclass]

| -------------------------------------------- "Oh, I've travelled." Siena donned her signature grin as she sipped on her glass of wine and lazily propped herself down on a dusty sofa. Just because she came from a poor upbringing, it did not mean she did not have the funds to be able to live her life. Sure, she was co-dependent on figures in high society and though she was engaged at one point, she mostly relied on herself and her voice to pay many of her bills.
"Not far," She added, shaking her head slightly, wishing that she was able to do so. "I have been to Paris," Siena commented, showing her a bracelet that she had bought from the shops there. "London will always be my home, though." Though she despised the streets of Soho and the terrible memories that they brought her, she could not stay away from them. When she wasn't staying at one of her rakes' homes, she stayed with a friend of hers in a less fortunate area in London. |

eloise & siena. Paris...Eloise could only dream of such a thing, and she often did. Actually travelling was never an option, but she'd read plenty of books, wondered what far off places might be like. From letters sent by her brother, she'd gathered that Europe was full of beautiful places to explore...if only she could.Perhaps one day she'd marry a man who would allow her to see parts of the world, take her on some grand honeymoon, and show her different places. That, however, was likely the only way she'd get to see anything further afield than Scotland, for nobody would allow her to head off to Paris. Siena certainly had more freedoms in that aspect than she did, and while she knew she had more privileges, she was mildly jealous."What's it like? Paris. I can only imagine..." she murmured, taking another sip of wine. It must have been such a beautiful city, so many spoke so highly of it. "Different from London, I imagine?"
