Tag: @giles i' m n o t b o u n d b y THE RULES OF SOCIETY Benedict was not sure how it came to this nor would he have it any other way. To admit that one had feelings for another -- particularly to themselves -- was one thing. To admit and acknowledge it was to a man was an entirely different matter. But there had been something about Giles. Something rather . . . captivating. Endearing. He had met the man through a mutual friend, and it did not take long to learn of which family's household -- or households rather -- that he was employed under. Certainly not favourable ones given what Benedict knew of each family and the treatment of their staff.
◈ ◈ ◈ ◈ ◈ It made Benedict long to help him . . . and knowing he had to endure such things became more saddening as time passed and Benedict's affections for him grew. Little did the Bridgerton son know, that such feelings would be returned. He had not expected it . . . already having prepared for an anguish of unrequited feelings. But when Noah had . . . Benedict knew that he could no longer fight it, and succumbed to all the building desires within him.
◈ ◈ ◈ ◈ ◈ So it was moments like these that he cherished. When Giles had completed his duties, Benedict invited him over to his bachelor lodging in Bloomsbury. Should someone see him enter, it would merely be observed as perhaps Giles doing extra work for another household. Or even one could consider them as friends -- though the notion would inevitably receive judgement from the ton. Just, not as much judgement or ostracism as it would should it be discovered that the two had an intimate relationship. But fortunately, they were not yet caught and Benedict would have it remain as such.
◈ ◈ ◈ ◈ ◈ So when Giles arrived at his house, Benedict embraced him warmly, not wanting him to think of anything other than simply relaxing and finding comfort in his arms. "The feeling is mutual," Benedict said as he wrapped his arms around the other male. Tilting his head to the side a little, his lips brushed against the butler's ear as he continued, speaking in a low voice. "I missed you." Was an understatement. Admitting his desires and feelings for Giles had opened up a part of Benedict he had not known existed. One that made him feel as if he could truly be himself . . . his whole, entire self.

giles & benedict. For some years, Giles had simply focused on his job. He wouldn’t pretend he didn’t have an ear for gossip, didn’t end up whispering with the other household help about the scandals published in Whistledown, but he’d never treaded near to scandal himself. He’d not felt the need to find someone, not when he had a job to do, and given the households he worked in, he certainly hadn’t envisioned ending up with someone from the ton. The Featheringtons had seemed bad enough, but the Cowpers were certainly worse. His working hours were miserable…but he’d found something, or rather someone, to brighten his days. Benedict had been unexpected, in more ways than one. He’d thought at first they’d merely end up as friends, never expecting to truly fall for the gentleman, certainly not expecting Benedict to fall for him — and yet here they were. Seeing Benedict was more than just the best part of his day, it was the thing that got him through even the toughest of moments. The rest of the ton might never understand the intimacy shared between them, perhaps someday Benedict would even have to take a wife, but Noah didn’t much care for anyone else. The two of them were all that mattered.“And I have missed you. You are not the one who has had to spend the day with Lady Cowper and her daughter,” he teased, though he was certain Benedict had it just as bad, but in other ways. They were both having to hide from society, after all. They could only be themselves when they were entirely alone. His arms slid around the younger man, and Giles’ lips curved into a satisfied smile. How wonderful this felt. “I have been thinking about you all day. What would I do without this to look forward to?” [attr="class","mizocredit"] [newclass=.mizocredit a]font:bold 6pt calibri;letter-spacing:1px;color:#b5d1f1;[/newclass]
