The chilly night air enveloped Tilly as she stepped out of the house and onto the gravel path that led to the gazebo. The full moon cast an eerie glow over the landscape, and long shadows across the rose gardens that had been planted many years ago, when the old Marchioness was still alive. Tilly wrapped her shawl tightly around her shoulders, feeling the cold seep through the woolen fabric, wondering how long would it take for Anthony to arrive, at the same time she tried to control the sense of excitement mixed with trepidation that was consuming her.
