.:Name:. Francesca Bridgerton
.:Nick Name:. Frannie
.:Rank:. Noble
.:Age:. 17-23 (b. 1797) widowed at 23
| ~ • ~ | Appearance | ~ • ~ |
.:Physical Appearance: Francesca has long chestnut hair just like her brothers and sisters, anyone who sees her would instantly know she is a Bridgerton. She is only a year younger than her older sister, Eloise and due to their similar appearance she would often think of herself as her older sister's unofficial twin. Unlike her sister, her eyes are blue, like the color of the sky in the springtime.
She is reserved, not shy as she would often add in her head, so it is a rare sight to see this Bridgerton with a smile unless she is with a close acquaintance or her own family. She is perceived by others as the mysterious one, and she believed as such. There is so little known about her, far from an open book. But when she does, it would almost always reach her eyes - like a child with a brand new toy. She prefers to wear bright colors; light orange or peach being her personal favorite though she has never been one that was picky with her dresses.
.:Height:. 5'4
.:Portrayed by:. Ruby Stokes/Hannah Dodd

.:Personality:. Growing up in a very likeable family such as the Bridgertons, she always says that she has always felt different than the rest of her family. She is more careful with her words, often finding herself thinking more than actually speaking. Though she always preferred it that way, or at least, for as long as she could remember. Her quietness is often viewed by others as her being reserved, but she is simply being observant. She suppose that is how she developed a reputation for irony and wit, as one would easily find more opportunties to slip in a dry remark or two in conversations if they just simply paid attention! However, she is not a wallflower by any means - she does enjoy the attention she would often get, being a Bridgerton. She knows how to hide that well behind thoughtful smiles and polite nods. Her personality shines through even more so when she met John Sterling, a gentleman who was so like her in many ways.
She has an affinity in music, specifically, the piano. She would spend most her time playing the piano as she finds so much comfort in doing so, it is the only place she has ever felt like... it was just hers. Her own piano, her own music, her own language. A place where she never feels different because it was her own. It is also only this time, where she could hold a smile for more than mere seconds. Yes, the smile that goes up to her eyes. She shares this with John too, among many others of course.
She has no reservations with teasing those she felt most comfortable with but she always knew when to stop. She always know better than to prod, suppose being as thoughtful as she is has its own perks.
Francesca has no qualms with how life will work out for her - she just knew everything will. She did not have requirements or specific hopes on where it might take her, naively thinking all the best would be served to her on a silver platter. And if not, she is happy with being just content. How could she not? She has lived so comfortably and so far, nothing has gone wrong for her. Nothing ever goes wrong when you are a Bridgerton.
She does not consider herself as spoiled, though one might argue she has been spoiled immensely by the universe.
.:Skills:. She is skilled in the piano, has dabbled with dancing and the arts - but always brings herself back to the piano. If John Sterling is not her first love, then the piano certainly is.
.:Weaknesses:.
She has a tough shell, only presenting to others what she is willing to share, making it extremely hard for her to communicate her feelings to others. In fact, she feels very uncomfortable to do so - deflecting conversation to others so that she no longer has to face her own. Her feeling of isolation within her own family, despite the immense love that is shared within the Bridgerton family, can be partly blamed on her desire to confront other people's feelings rather than her own. Often times she finds herself wishing others would pick up on her thoughts and feelings as she does for others and would single-handledly hold in the pain of the disappointment when they do not.
Francesca cannot handle difficult situations, she lacks the ability to handle intense emotion - gravitating towards numbing herself rather than feeling and letting it pass through. Francesca's life has always been easy in her eyes (or perhaps, in many other!), being the third daughter she was never the priority and so she had plenty of time avoiding her mother's nagging, immense pressure to marry quickly and had plenty more time to pursue her interests without much disturbance. She marries quickly, not long after she debuts into society, and in love! There was nothing better than the life of Francesca Bridgerton, until of course, that horrible day when her life changed and it felt as if she had died right then and there. Francesca, as much as she would like to deny it, could not handle this change - how could she when her life was perfect before that day? And when she lost what little she had left of her old life, it felt as though she was dying again. Could you even kill something that is already dead?
When she does feel comfortable enough with sharing her true feelings, she would do so with strong intent, - for some, it could come across as confrontational, but she does try to avoid being far too unkindly though failing at times when she is hurt. Having find it difficult to express her own feelings, it can also be equally difficult for Francesca to understand others'. She tends to prioritise her own; her own feelings, her own mindset. And she is easily driven by emotion.
She may come across as a little selfish when faced with inconvenience, expecting others to know exactly how she feels despite her being an expert at hiding it. This leads to her having unrealistic expectations of other people, and often finds herself very disappointed when this does not reflect into reality. As she grew up with not many major obstacles in her life, she can come across a little bit arrogant at times; thinking she knows everything and that nothing can ever go wrong.

.:Birthplace:. London
.:Family:. Bridgerton family - Edmund, Violet, Anthony, Benedict, Daphne, Eloise, Gregory and Hyacinth
.:Occupation:. Daughter, Wife, Widow
.:History:.
Francesca was born as the third daughter of the Bridgerton family, with 7 other siblings who loves her dearly. She had lost her father when she was very young, and hardly have many memories of him. Having older sisters, Francesca had the privilege of not being under the same intense pressure to marry as they did, and so she spent most of her younger years growing up pursuing her interests in playing the piano - among many others. She spent many months with her Aunt Winnie in Bath, where she had more freedom in pursuing music and the arts, sometimes even dancing when she was being particulary adventurous.
She is very close with her sister Eloise, perhaps due to their close age but also due to their shared inquisitive nature and quick wit. Francesca is often seen with Eloise, if she was not with Penelope, of course. Aside from that, she mostly finds comfort being on her own, loneliness was not something she ever feared (though this will change later!) - how could she ever feel lonely when she can always fill the silence with the beautiful sound of her piano.
When it was her time to debut into society, it did not take her long to fall in love. John Stirling, he was the perfect gentleman - the perfect gentleman she chose to marry. It was like they were two peas in a pod, kindred spirits she would often call it. He was her first love and would have been her last if it was up to her. But fate had different plans, one she always wished she was a part of.
She had a very close relationship with John's family, it was very hard not to when growing up with a loving and supportive family was all she knew. She radiated a warm and loving energy among his family, one she inherited from her own. So it was hard for John's family to not reciprocate, as if that was ever an option.
And Michael, John's cousin, was no exception to that. Regardless of how much he tries to deny it...
