i will ALWAYS PROTECT YOU 6. Lying naked with a fan. It was damned hot! This level of heat was quite unnatural for Kent at this time. Otherwise, they never would have planned their week long event and invited most of the ton to it. Anthony felt as if he was going to downright faint from this level of heat. It was why he had managed to sneak away from the hunting competition that would take up most of the morning and afternoon . . . and where most if not all the men were expected to be.
❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ But he strategically snuck away, enjoying the peace and quiet of the moment as he lay sprawled on the couch of his room, divested of all clothing with a fan in his hand. He was not expecting any company and continued to hope that no one would notice that he was not among the men. Especially as he was the host. After all, this was far more relaxing. He was completely in the moment, at peace, perhaps even slowly drifting . . . when his door suddenly opened.
❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ The abruptness and unexpectedness of it caused Anthony to practically leap off the couch to behind it -- somehow thinking that this was the best form of concealment for him since the couch just so happened to be the first thing in view when someone entered his chambers. "Do you ever knock?!" He questioned, not even sure who it was. He had only seen a glimpse of a dress so it was a woman -- which made it even worse. But which woman . . . that had yet to be determined. He hoped it was not one in particular and yet he could not help but think that if any woman was to enter his room unannounced . . . it would very well be her. How he hoped he was wrong, yet feared being right.
