Married just a handful of days, Kate and Anthony were walking in the near by town to see the farmers under his care and shop in the local shops. Kate, who had lived very near such a village before, loved it. She made sure that she spent Anthony's money with ease there--even though she had not thought she would be able too. However, once she bought one thing from a merchant, she then felt the need to be fair to everyone.
It was how Anthony had ended up carrying some of the things she purchased before he had someone else carry it back for them. Needing a bit of tea before they headed back, Kate found a small stand that not many even visiting. There was a young girl there who made them some tea from the herbs her mother grew. Kate's tea was light, but Anthony ordered a different one since there was no milk to go in it.
After they had stood and spoke with others while drinking the tea, Kate returned both cups so that Anthony could finish the conversation with a tenet. Upon handing the young girl the cups, Kate noticed that her hands were wringing and she looked nervous. It took Kate a few moments of talking with the girl, and a promise she would not be in trouble before the truth came out.
Anthony's tea was made from the wrong herb, and he was about to have a very--very--hard day. Literately.

i will ALWAYS PROTECT YOU Anthony's hands were full of Kate's purchases though . . . he did not mind. She was enjoying herself and that was what he had wanted. For her to embrace those in town and it did not seem difficult for others seemed to quickly warm up to her. Though, there was only so much that he could carry and only so much time he could carry it for. He had it sent back to their home while Kate and himself -- now with free hands -- continued their visit in town.
❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ They reached a stall with tea and ordered some, Anthony drinking his rather quickly as it was a suitable temperature to do so. Before he could say anything further to the vendor, his attention was required by another vendor, offering their freshly baked goods. Anthony stepped over to talk to them, deciding to order some for their home based on the sample they provided. The exchange was quick and to the point, for Anthony knew that they still had a lot more ground to cover here. Returning to Kate's side, he extended his arm. "Shall we continue?" He asked, since she seemed to be having a lengthy conversation with the tea vendor.

Her husband offered her his arm, and Kate slipped her's in his, before using her other one to rest on his forarm; thus holding his one hand with her two. Looking up at him, she stayed quite for a moment and searched his face as if the tea would suddenly made him chance.
Maybe it wasn't strong enough? Or the girl was wrong? . . . Or it took a while to begin? "Fine," she told him, smiling and trying to pretend nothing was wrong. She pulled it off too, other then her silent beginning. Kate decided that she wasn't going to tell him right away. She did not wish anything to happen to the shop girl and maybe Anthony was unaffected?
Which was odd. He seemed to already be vicarious. She would have assumed this would be more so. "I was just thinking that you are good at this." Which she had, before the shop girl told her that she'd used the wrong herb. "They respect you deeply."

i will ALWAYS PROTECT YOU Anthony gave a smile when Kate told him that he was good at this; that the people respected him. He knew he could never be his father, and his father was beyond loved by the people . . . but still. Anthony felt a strong sense of honor fill his heart when hearing Kate's words. Especially knowing how honest of a person she was. And that she did not say things that she did not mean. It had been a quality of hers he'd quickly learned . . . one that had initially infuriated him, but perhaps all along, he'd always found it quite endearing. "They seem to have taken a liking to you as well," he praised. He was unused to allowing the focus of his . . . achievements, remain the topic of conversation. When it came to betting, games and the like, Anthony was of course more than happy to talk about his victories.
❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ But when it came to such deeply, personal things; words that praised him as he followed in the footsteps of his father . . . well, he perhaps knew that deep, deep down, they were undeserved. Even if they were rather wonderful to hear. More wonderful than he had perhaps anticipated for he was starting to feel a little warm. Swallowing back this sudden change in temperature, he looked for a distraction and walked towards another vendor with Kate on his arm. One that was selling flowers. Oh good. This would indeed be a good distraction for he had a feeling they would be at this vendor for a while. "Pick your favorites," he encouraged her. "Perhaps we can select which we would like planted in the gardens." Anthony loved the gardens, especially the one at Aubrey Hall. It brought him peace and that was precisely what he was trying to focus on as he started to feel a bit of an odd discomfort.

Anthony said that the people liked her too, and Kate hoped so. She had not ever imagined being the lady of anything of this size with farmers and tenets. It was over whelming to say the least, but she was trying every day to be of help and use. The complement made her smile. A complement from Anthony always made her smile.
"I would love to plant in the garden, but I fear ruining your mother's wonderful work. I shall have to find flowers that will compliment the flowers and fauna she has." Kate was still holding her husband's arm, and seemingly forgetting the mistake of the girl. Anthony did not seem to act unnatural. Perhaps because he was always so vicarious the root did nothing to him.
Since they were on the topic, Kate looked up at her husband and let her face rest on his shoulder. "Did you know the time you brought me flowers while trying to court Edwina was the first time I have received flowers from a man?" Edwina was so beautiful and saught after that Kate had just accepted that Edwina was the beautiful one and she was . . . well, not. However she was the practical one.

i will ALWAYS PROTECT YOU Anthony was doing all that he could to pay attention to his wife's words, but this . . . odd discomfort was growing. She was speaking of planting flowers -- a topic that he had brought up yet now was struggling to maintain, and spoke of wanting to find ones to compliment the flowers so not to ruin his mother's work. "I highly doubt you could ruin it," he assured her. He quite enjoyed the garden, his knowledge of plants and flowers sign of that. Though it was not something he advertised about himself. And it certainly was not what his mind was resting on now.
❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ She then told him that he was the first one who had ever brought her flowers. The revelation both honored him and angered him. Honored, because well, what man would not feel honored over such a thing. But angered him . . . in that so many others failed so miserably in seeing how beautiful Kate was. "Men are fools," he grumbled, slightly loosening his cravat. "And while their foolishness worked in my favor of being given such an honor . . . they still remain utter fools." He made the mistake of looking at her and . . . she was so, damned beautiful.
❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ Her body was rested against him and . . . oh dear. His own body was starting to stir with desire. He let out a heavy breath, suddenly needing nothing more than . . . her. And was doing all that he could to distract such thoughts. So instead, he looked to the vendor near them; an old man. Yes. Good. Perfect. Perhaps if Anthony looked long and hard -- wrong word choice -- at him, then it would cause his building need to wane. This was not something Anthony often did but as they were out in public . . . it did seem necessary under the circumstances.

Kate knew the house was technology her's now, since she had married Anthony, and yet also knew that Violet was the type of person who she wanted to embrace and befriend. Perhaps working on it together would be a wonderful way of spending time with her husband's mother. Deciding that was the thing to do, Kate in-turned only spoke of his last words.
"You benefited?" She teased, turning to rest her hand on his chest and smiling up at him--thus drawing his attention away from the vendor to her. "I believe you were trying to woo my sister more then me, but I adored them anyway."
Her hand slipped down a little, sliding over his cloth covered skin to rest better against him. "I smelled them all night and thought of you . . . which annoyed me to no end then." She teased, "Though now I like thinking of you at night." She was teasing even more, and loving every moment of being bold around him. She assumed that a little flirting would be alright between husband and wife.
