.:Name:. Benedict Bridgerton .:Nick Name:. Ben Number Two .:Rank:. Nobility .:Age:. 27 [born in 1786]
| ~ • ~ | Appearance | ~ • ~ |
.:Physical Appearance:. Benedict holds the appearance of a typical nobleman: well dressed, well carried, well mannered. Just like his other brothers, he has brown hair, light skin, and a medium build; athletic but not over assuming. .:Height:. 6"2 .:Portrayed by:. Luke Thompson
| ~ • ~ | Personality | ~ • ~ |
.:Personality:. Benedict overall is charming, kind, likable, and charismatic. But perhaps what best defines him, is that he is a free spirit. He feels stifled by the confines of society and the expectations that come along with it. Unlike most others, he doesn't particularly enjoy dancing, extravagant balls, and so on. He shows little to no interest in settling down and finding a wife as he'd much rather explore the parts of society that differ from the world he grew up in. He is grateful for his privilege, but he does not look down upon others despite his status. He enjoys the company of many. He treats others as equals, even if they are of the lower class. As unconventional as it is, he enjoys chatting and spending time with the servants of his household, and others of lower classes.
As a Bridgerton, he is a man of honor, though now finding himself in situations that cause him to question it. He is sensitive, and quite expressive . . . unable to hold back from revealing his true feelings in a situation. As if words were not enough, he often wears it on his face as well. He is a terrible liar and can not often deceive those he cares about. He deeply cares about what his family thinks of him and how they view him, causing him to keep secrets though he does not enjoy withholding things from his family. He is also one who does not like attention; he is quite used to being in the background and has no issue with this as it allows him certain liberties where it comes to exploring society. He hates being called Number Two and because of this, does sometimes struggle with his identity.
Benedict is easy going and has a good sense of humor, having a teasing and playful nature especially with his family. Where his brother carries the pressures of being the eldest, Benedict in direct contrast is more carefree. Though, the daunting thought of losing his brother does enter his mind on occasion . . . knowing that he would not be as successful if placed in the role of Bridgerton heir. Benedict is one who likes to keep the peace, and see everyone in his family happy, and getting along. He does not like conflict, doing what he can not to raise or provoke any as well as resolve it when it does arise.
He does not judge others, accepting and open to those who might not fit the societal norms. He is a closeted . . . artist, longing to hold skill. He lacks confidence and is very self doubting. He tends to be hard on himself where his skills are concerned, and does not open up easily about his artistic nature. He is a perfectionist and would rather his creations be flawless before someone sees them. Otherwise, he can't stand the sight of it. .:Skills:. Is a talented artist even if he himself doesn't think so, is very perceptive, strong intuition, charming, horseback riding, fencing .:Weaknesses:. feels stifled by the rules of the society he lives in, very self critical

.:Birthplace:. London .:Family:. Edmund, Violet, Anthony, Colin, Daphne, Eloise, Francesca, Gregory, Hyacinth .:Occupation:. Aspiring Artist
.:History:. Benedict was born as the second son in the Bridgerton family two years after Anthony. With Anthony as the heir, Benedict grew up not facing the same pressures, yet is also caused him to be uncertain as to where his place in the family was. It harbored feelings of uselessness within the young Bridgerton, though strived to cover it up. At a young age, he used sketching and painting to creatively express himself, challenging his emotions into his artistic creations, though he kept it a secret from his family. Mainly, because he felt he was not good enough and therefore, was not proud of what he made. He wished it to be perfect before sharing it with others.
As the family grew, Benedict faded more and more out of the spotlight, and enjoyed the liberties that came with that. He has a particularly close relationship with Eloise, as the two bond under their desire for something other than getting married and a mutual understanding that they do not fit into what is considered 'the norm' for a Bridgerton.
When his father died, and Anthony became heir, this didn't quite change Benedict's position, though he knew that he was next in line. Because of that, Anthony often prepared him for the scenario and while Benedict paid attention and took in the information . . . he did not believe it to be necessary. His mind did not even consider the possibility that something would happen to his elder brother and that the responsibility of the family would fall upon him.
As he grew older, he became more distant from the idea of getting married, as well as the enjoyment of balls, and extravagant affairs. Instead, he finds himself introduced to an entirely different world . . . embracing it and enjoying the pleasures that come with it. As he embarks on this path of self discovery, it has opened his mind to possibilities as well as raised questions about his own self.
