Removing his clothes, and touching him always made her feel power. Made her feel as if she was too warm, and waiting for something that only her husband had ever been able to give her. A release to the very tension and ache that he built.
Her husband lowered his hands so she could help remove his shirt. At the sight of his bare skin, she looked over him, and drank in the slight of him. Leaning forward she pressed her lips to his skin, and then turned her face up to his as he removed her dress and pulled her toward him. His words were heavy in her mind, and fire in her heart. He wanted her then. Like this.
He had come here because of it. With her skin against his, her fingers reached between them to find his trouser's buttons. She made swift work of pulling each button free, and opening them. "You ached for me?" She asked, pulling his trousers from his kiss, lightly licking her kiss swollen lips and tasting him on her lips. "And you came here to stop--" pausing, she looked at the water and then him. "You came here to stop?" How did that work? "Water keeps you from . . . . aching?" She asked, suddenly not sure she wanted to in the water.

Why could he not see himself the way she saw him? There was wonderful man before her, and it seen him in doubt of his skills always humbled her, and at the same time made a fire grow inside her heart. Because he if would not admit his greatness, then she would do it for him. No matter toward whom. Forever.
"Of that I doubt," she told him, when he told her that he doubted he could draw her the way he wanted. "You are always your hardest critic. Even when you bring paper to life." Leaving the topic of of him drawing her, for she had other plans while here, and while she would love to see herself as he saw her--that was not her priority in his endeavor.
That belonged to removing his pants. Which was why she had also cleverly not commented toward his words on the door being locked too convenient. She only had to tilt her face up to let her lips find his. Her hands finding his ribs, and sliding up to his shoulders, and then around his neck. He had told her once, that by touching him once, he had needed to find a cool lake to stop his desire. With this story in mind, with the thought bold in her body--her hands moved down this time. Moving lower, over his ribs, and lower over his belly, and lower, to hold his hips--and make her intentions clear.
Or she hoped--for if not then she would have to grow bolder still.

He asked her again, and she decided that perhaps is she was slightly more honest with him his curiosity would be satisfied. She did not tell many of the abuse she had ran from. "I had trouble sleeping, and was going to walk the garden." She admitted, and moved closer into the kitchen. Moving toward the pantry, she pulled out some of the left over bread and sat it on the counter.
"Did they not feed you?" She asked, trying to find out if he was at some party or ball, or some fancy event. Trying to prevent herself from wondering he he danced with a lady, or what he did. She was not jealous, but envious. And there was a marked difference between the two. Jealous implied that she was hurt because he did it and it was not with her, while envious said she just wised for things to be different. Wished she could trust someone to let them close. Wished there was not a world of difference between their classes. Wished she could be part of his world.

One moment, escape was in sight, and the next . . . well the next was so much better! Sophie felt his arms around her, and then he pulled! She gasped softly as she landed on the bed, and the sound ended in a laugh as he settled on top of her. "Benedict!" She 'chided' though it came out as a happy sigh rather that any for displeasure. Because how did one grow displeased when she was so happy? One did not.
His kissed stole her ability to reason, and before long he was pulling the sheet from her body. It was like fighting the wind. Sophia moved her hands to touch his skin, sliding over his side and up to his face. "I am so weak around you," She admitted, glad for it as well. "You always get what you want from me." And she as well, for there was nothing he would not give her if she asked for it. "Now we shall both be late," With that, she gave up trying to escape and wrapped her hands around his neck, kissing him slowly. "And I had a really good surprise for you too, for when you found me."

He was hungry. After being out for most the night, which she knew he had been. For some reason she always felt in tune to knowing when he was here and when he was not. As if she were a pianoforte and he the time pace. She should not feel sorry for him, and yet . . . . and yet. It was the an yet that told her more then the rest of her thoughts.
"I did not follow you here. I did not know you were here." She told him, not going to admit she had trouble sleeping. "Do you need help?" She asked, wanting to make sure he could fend for himself before she left him be. Though to admit . . . she also wanted a reason to linger, without admitting to herself or to him that she wanted to be around him. Because admitting that she longed to spend time around him--with him--was dangerous. Because she could want such a thing. He a noble, and she was a maid in his mother' household.

Sophie again demanded that they let her pass. She knew that it was pointless, so instead she began to talk around them--only to be stopped. Turning she made it a few steps back toward the estate--only to be stopped. Her felt her body hum with the telling feeling that she needed to run. The knowledge that she could not out run them. The fear of knowing what might happened next if she did not at least try. And the hopelessness of knowing that sound not stop it.
They taunted her, as if they wanted her to run and they to chase. At least until a voice came from outside the group. One that made them all turn toward. When everyone was looking toward the new man, Sophie attempted to dart the other way, only to have two of them catch her, one holding each arm. "Oh, oh! The little deer tried to run before we could take her to the party." Some of them seemed to stare into the darkness at the other man, as if trying to discern who it was--or if they knew then they were still because of who he was. "Let me go!" She demanded, once again.
She would have given more thought in this moment had she not been scared, panicked, and desperate. She might have wondered who they would stop for--yet to Sophie, she only knew they were distracted because of someone. That they men here, took notice of the stranger with a voice she could never forget.

She did have something in mind, and she was of mind to tell him; yet before she could he once again down played his art. It caused Sophie to teach forward and touch his wrist, as if to stop him from tossing it to the side. While she was not fast enough to stop him, she still held her fingers there. "I liked them," She told him, before reaching around him to pick it up once more. Looking down at the art she smiled softly. After a few moments she looked up at him and smiled "They are amazing."
She knew a bit about his feelings toward his art, and wanted him to know that he did not have to hide it from her. "Why should I be hurried when I am trapped with the man I love?" She asked slyly, ignoring the fact that he seemed close to figuring out what was happening here. At least partly--he was clueing to the fact she was not worried about this. The next logical idea would be that she'd locked them in. Looking once again at his work she reached forward to sit it back down on the table. "Draw me," she asked of him suddenly, smiling up at him. Moving to face him, her hands moved up to his shoulders as she leaned forward to kiss him.

He was warm and welcoming, and she loved it. Tucking her toes up under her skirt, she let her weight rest on him in efforts to get closer. Benedict questioned how she felt, and if she was honest with her self--she was not sure. There was the worry that this scheme they had built to allow her to marry him would fail, or that someone would know her and ruin everything, or that the ton would dislike her---OR Lady Whistledown would decide to not like her either!
It was harder to be honest with herself, than with him. For some reason, it was easier to talk to him. "It will all work out," She told him, trying to be optimistic about the events to happen in the next few weeks and months. "I only worry I will let everyone down, and the others will see right through me." She admitted to him, knowing he must already be able to guess how she felt in a way.
But there was more. More to her feelings. Turning her face to moving closer to his own, she leaned up to kiss him. "And yet, not at the same time." Because when he was with her, there was nothing she could not do.

Most odd indeed. Yes it was. He assumed the key was on the other side, and Sophie looked at where she had hid it, just making sure it was there. Even though she knew it was. "We appear to be locked in." She told him, walking closer, and moving to lean on the door so she could look up at him. Her tone was not worried, but then being locked in was not something that worried her.
"We shall have to find something to keep ourselves entertained with we can leave." To which they did not have to wait on anyone, as she knew where the key was. Moving from the door as if she was giving up so quickly, Sophie walked over to look at his drawing. She knew she should feel guilty for distracting him from something he enjoyed, but she was attempting the first seduction of her husband. "What are your drawing today?"

He kissed her, and she knew he understood what she had wanted. Him. Here. Where it began in a way. One of their few beginnings. He told her that he would only get in the water if she was with him. "I do not know how to swim." She told him softly, knowing that he would hinder him. Swimming had been something she had never had the chance to do before. "You will have to promise to hold me close."
As proof that he would not be hindered, she felt him pulling the laces of her dress. Wanting to do the same for him, Sophie lifted her fingers to his buttons of his shirt, and she began slipping them through the holes. Her own lips seeking out his again, needing his kiss to keep her bold. Wanting to be bold for him. And his kiss . . . it had always made her feel more then a kiss should.
"You had a reason?" She questioned, having just assumed he had felt the need to be clean or disappear for a while. What could have made him escape from his room, and come out here, and for him to find it prudent now?

Do not wait for him. Do. Not. Wait. For. Him. Do not wait for him!!
With an annoyed sound, Sophie tossed the rag down. The kitchen was beyond clean at this time, so her excuse for waiting up was gone. Flimsy as it had been in her mind, she wasn't sure how she'd explain it to the cook without sounding mad. With a deep sigh, Sophie knew it was time for bed. She knew waiting for him would send him mixed thoughts, as she had made herself known on many occasions that they could not be together . . . and yet . . . and yet she waited to make sure he arrived home safe.
There was a sound at the door, and Sophie looked up at the doorway. Was he home now? Pausing where she was, she tried to listen, but did not hear anything. Deciding just to peek, and then sneak off to bed without him or anyone knowing, she walked out to the large foyer and looked--"Benedict?!" She called, not thinking of property, or sneaking, or anything but finding him laying on the ground, bleeding.
Running to him, Sophie fell harshly to her knees, and reached for where his bleeding was coming from. Her hands shook as they moved this coat to the side, and pressed the wound to hold int he blood. Lifting one hand to his face, she touched his cheek, the fear in her face too real to what was in her heart. "Benedict?" This time his name a whisper, a plea, rather then a yell.

Sometimes it was hard to sleep. Memories of her life before here, memories of the abuse, kept her awake when she longed for sleep. Sophie often felt alone in the world, and had for her whole life. Sitting up in bed, Sophie tried to think of something she could do to remove the feelings and memories and aid sleep.
Perhaps stepping out into the garden? She knew just walking the gardens during the day was not allowed, but with everyone to bed, perhaps no one would know. Slipping on a simple dress, and shoes, Sophie did not bother to take a candle with her. She knew the way by now.
The way just happened to take her through the kitchens--where she found Benedict--MR. BRIDGERTON--there. He turned and smiled, and Sophie had to fight to keep from smiling back. Her souring mood from moments ago already forgotten, more so then a walk could ever had done. "Are you going to cook?" She asked, ignoring his question about following him down here, and the tease that had eased her mood, and rather asked something else. Because the idea of him knowing how to use the kitchen was more then surprising. Which her tone had even suggested.

Sophie knew the moment Benedict remained back from the others, that he was doing it for her. Part of her felt excited just from the idea that he would; and the other part felt guilty that he was choosing to stay here and not go visit his sister, her family and new child.
She was not even sure how the moment began, must less how the passionate moment had now escalated to the removal of clothes. His boots, her laces, his vest--short work was made from each. Her back was on the sofa, and Benedict was over her. Sophie was surprised that the weight of him was welcomed, and how he was careful not to crush her. It did not leave her feeling caged in, but rather enveloped. His kiss left her breathless, and she found herself making little sounds within the kiss. Sounds she had never made before, to match the feelings she had never had before.
She felt herself inhale a gasp when his hand touched her skin. It made the place he was moving toward tighten and heat from anticipation and she did not even know for what she was waiting for. Her fingers moved to his arms and she held on, waiting for the feeling of his fingers, waiting to see what he indented, waiting to see how it felt
Then his words brought her back--like a burst of chilled water. Reaching between them she tried to push down her dress, and then tried to slide out from under him. The idea of getting caught by another servant was horrible, but the idea of his family seeing them was worse! She liked everyone here and could not bare the thought of them thinking her loose. Forgetting her hair, looked at the door. "Are you sure?"

A long time ago in a kingdom that went from sea to sea, there was a ruling family whom were very close. The people were often happy, though life was not always easy. The main city was located in the heart of the kingdom, and the castle there towered above the trees in a beacon to welcome or warn approaching visitors. A market and lower town filled part of the area, as well as some local farm land. As you traveled further away from the citadel, there was other smaller villages, and farms that lived within the kingdom. Each village or farm was near a noble's estate, with the noble over seeing the area in the name of the king.
It is in one such village that our story begins. The village near the area under the noble Lord Cavender, where the rules were not always upheld as strict as they were in the capital. Here where our story begins, we find a maid on the run from a different noble's manner, who finds herself in a dangerous position for a woman traveling alone.
❀❀❀❀❀❀
Sophie knew that she had been warned about life on her own before, and it had been one of the main reasons that she had waited so long before fleeing her step-mother's house. Yet after a mistake that had ended up with her locked away--again--Sophie had no choice yet to flee. To leave before her step-mother could punish her in a more dangerous manner.
If seeking out on her own had been a hard choice, being on her own felt harder. While she no longer lived in fear of her step-mother, she now lived coin to coin, and was trying to get far enough away that no one knew her.
It was how she ended up serving drinks as a maid in the noblemen; Lord Cavender, and found herself apart of a party where their were many (many) shocking things happening. In attempt to make it back to the village, three men had found her. She demanded they let her leave. The laughed at her, seeing a maid as an easy target.
