Muse Meta
Have you ever watched a scene from the show where you are wondering what's going on in the character's head? This is one of the many wonderful things about role playing, which is where you can really get inside character's mindsets and go through the motions as well as their inner dialogue. But, what if another member wants to know about a particular scene from your character? Well, this is what this activity is all about! Read below to see the steps of how this works!
- If you would like to be tagged in muse metas and thus, allow members to 'request' certain scenes for you to write out, you must reply to this thread saying "Accepting" or "Accepted" etc! Anything to let other members know that you are participating in this particular activity. If there are any scenes in the show that you may not feel comfortable accepting from others, then please make note of it in your "Accepting" post so that others know not to tag you in it. Please note that if you play multiple characters, you must reply to this thread as EACH of those characters.
- Once you have accepted, other members can start a thread where they can tag you to write out a certain scene from the show! For example, if Simon posted Accepted in this thread, then someone could start a thread and tag him along with the description of the scene: "What was going on in Simon's head when his and Daphne's portrait was getting painted?" Simon can then proceed to fulfill this meta request. You can title the thread whatever you please! You also MUST tag that member [@usernamehere] in the thread so that they will be notified. You are welcome to shoot them a message just in case they miss the notification. You can also be as detailed in your meta request as you like, to really pin down the moment or scene you are asking the member to fulfil.
- OCs are of course also welcome to participate in this activity. They can be given meta requests based on events in the show, or events that you know took place throughout the role plays where you perhaps would like more insight about a particular event.
- Metas can include AU [out of canon] scenarios, so long as they are relevant to the character you are tagging. For example, if Eloise was accepting metas, someone could tag her with the description "What would have been going on in Eloise's head if she did in fact see Lady Whistledown's true identity in the carriage that night?
- You do not have to be accepting this activity yourself in order to tag other people in it. So long as the member you are tagging has accepted it, then you can start a thread and tag them in it.
- Once the member has been tagged, they and ONLY they, can then reply to the meta. It is muse specific. So for example, if you were tagged under your Daphne account, then you can only reply as Daphne.
- You can write the meta in either third person, or first person, or outside of your character's perspective and write it in your own! These threads are not meant to be turned into role play threads.
- Members are welcome to respond to the meta with their realizations or to start a conversation about the scene! Please just keep it positive and not judge or criticize another person's character perspective. These responses to the meta should be out of character, for as stated above, it is not meant to be a role play thread.
- If you want to send more than one meta subject to either the same character or another, you must start a separate thread. One thread per meta! There is no limit as to how many meta starters you can do for one character but please just be sure to check with the mun if you wish to start multiple threads for them via tagging.
- There is no required length for meta responses. You can be as general or as detailed as you'd like. You can also add in images/gifs if you like! It is entirely up to you and your own creativity.
- Please be advised that posts here may not necessarily count as your posts for the week. It is dependent on your activity level.
- This activity is not meant to place pressure or stress on anyone! It is purely for some fun in character analyses for everyone to take part in!
- If you are no longer accepting metas, please reply once more to this thread by saying "No longer accepting". We will have a masterlist below of those currently accepting metas. This will be helpful for new members on the site who would like to partake in this activity.
If you have any questions or concerns about this activity, please feel free to send us a PM!Below is an alphabetized list of the members accepting metas:Happy Metaing!
