Nothing but trouble…Eloise Bridgeton at times had a rather bad habit of making things more difficult than they needed to be. Free spirited, many would consider that to be reckless. Today, it was her being impatient that got her into trouble. An encounter that left her feeling numb. One of these days, she was going to get herself into trouble. Never had she thought such a thing was possible, not like this.
The sun just beginning to vanish over the horizon as the carriage came to a stop in front of Aubrey Hall. Her stomach turned, second guessing herself. Not wishing to return home, not completely. Certain that those who had noticed her absence, they’d be alarmed by now. Was it selfish to wish they hadn’t noticed? The less questions to answer the better. That’s why she was here, wasn’t one Bridgeton better than facing an entire house full of them. As long as she didn’t stop to consider that his reaction was the one she didn’t want to think about.
Except it didn’t matter, he could shout at her for her foolishness until he turned blue in the face. She just wanted to feel safe again. As soon as she was out of the carriage, she didn’t look back. The whereabouts of her lady maid and driver, it didn’t matter. A single minded goal at present. Marching up the door, the pain she tried to push from out of her mind. ”Anthony!?” She called out loudly, knocking as long as she could. Two knocks with her right hand and then she switched. Favoring her left, certain there was a break if not a sprain in her right wrist. Pounding upon the door some more, a desperation to her actions. As if this wasn’t a massive home she was standing before. Just as likely no one inside could even hear her. ”Anthony! Can anyone hear me?”
Whoever had the misfortune of coming to collect her, they’d find Eloise in a state of distress. But it has been too much, her emotions…in that aspect it’s like she felt nothing at all. Her dress torn and dirty, but that along with her face, she attempted to shied under a cloak. Lip bloodied, obvious signs of bruising across patches of skin. It was awaking nightmare that she’d swear was too horrible to be real.

"You make me feel like I'm not good enough.!" Eloise had whirled on her heels, practically feeling as if she could have thrown herself over by the sheer force of it. As if her body had acted completely if its own accord. Bursting out were the feelings and insecurities she’d been trying to keep buried down. When that such a thing ever truly worked for her in the past? She was frustrated; and if the sudden outburst hadn’t made that apparent. It was the way in which she carried herself now.
The way in which her fingers curled into fists at her sides. Shaking but that anger who was it really for? Him or for herself? So swept up in notions and expectations. The biggest fool of them all. Why had she opened her mouth, why had she stopped? About to make her leave from him, retired to guest her chambers. If not said aloud, she could have dealt with this on her own.
No instead of trying to manage as best she could. She had to go and practically shout at the man. The prospect of marriage? She’d be lucky if he wasn’t trying to throw her out the door himself by the nights end. It wasn’t fair, to behave in such a manner. Slowly she shook her head, a small tilt of her chin. Allowing herself a moment or so to look away from him.”Say something, please She laughed, a quick little burst. The uncomfortable sort when one is trying to navigate a tense situation. ”Before I feel as if I have truly lost my mind.”
