- Francesca Bridgerton -
Francesca let out a heavy sigh as she walked away, as far as she could, from her family. She finds them exhausting, especially at this time and she would not let herself listen to any more noise.
Nothing I say would even matter anyway, she thought, convincing herself that her absence would be left unnoticed by her family members. Besides, all matters in the Bridgerton family tend to sort itself out all on their own and she was confident that by the time she returns, she will enjoy their company again.
Heaven knew she loves her family oh so much, but in the midst of all the chaos brought forth by Anthony and his overbearing self, Violet’snagging persistence in finding Eloise her match, Eloise’s consistent protest against it – Francesca simply could not deny herself something as simple as a breath of fresh air.
And it was as if the Heavens knew what she needed! Her eyes found the presence of an older gentleman, perhaps the same age as her eldest brother, Anthony. She let out a sigh, just that thought alone reminds her of Anthony’s annoying voice but somehow the energy that was radiating from this gentleman felt nothing like her brother's. Besides, there was nothing better than a conversation with a stranger. She did not mind small, mindless, easy conversations. In fact, she almost always preferred it, given the right circumstances of course.
She walked over to him with a graceful stride, just like how her mother had taught her. “Sir Benjamin,” she greeted as soon as she was within speaking distance with the other. “I trust that London has been treating you well?” It was impossible to not know anyone in London, especially with Lady Whistledown breathing down everybody’s neck.
