late night talksfrancesca & Anthony
- Francesca Bridgerton - Francesca missed Bath - she truly, truly did. Aunt Winnie was incredibly supportive, to say the least, of Francesca's studies in the pianoforte.. among many others too. She had took on French, and a couple of other music studies but really it was pianoforte she took a liking to the most.
Though she did not miss the balls and dinner parties in Bath. Oh, there were so, so many of them.
And so she surprised herself when she asked Anthony if she could join him to one of his parties. And it was no easy feat, not much of a surprise there. Moreover, what a gentleman does late at night was no matter for a lady.
But that evening she felt as though she would rather be out in the fresh air than to be in bed and Francesca was persistent - no one has ever denied her of anything she wanted.
But after what felt like a lifetime - she did not enjoy the drinks, the smell, and quite honestly the people too - the thoughts of regret of coming here has slowly flooded her mind, and not a second later Francesca decided it was time to go home.
Much to her dismay, when she touched Anthony's arm urging for his attention he did not respond immediately.
"Anthony," the urgency in her tone clear as crystal as the fear starts sinking in. How were they supposed to get home now? How was she? He was to be her chaperone!
"I am not in the mood for games... Anthony!" Standing up, she did not let go of his arm. "Would you stand up, please?" But

i am a viscount IT IS MY RESPONSIBILITY Despite Anthony's stubborn and overprotective nature . . . it was at times difficult -- if not impossible -- for him to deny his sisters. For him to say no to them. It was especially hard to do so for the younger three, or four. His brothers it was considerably easier to reject -- with the exception of Gregory -- but his sisters . . . not as much. So it was no miracle that Francesca had managed to convince him to take her to a party tonight. It was not as formal as a ball, but still crowded. It was moments like these that Anthony enjoyed such company and while he never got drunk . . . or well, perhaps it had been quite some time since he had . . . he found himself enjoying the evening far too much.
❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ While he did not drink to obliteration, keeping a watchful eye on Francesca and ensuring no many tried anything -- though fortunately they were still in the company of gentlemen . . . Anthony's inhibitions had certainly been lowered. He had just won himself a game of dice, and was basking in the victory. After all, many knew that the Viscount hated to lose. Unfortunately, his basking was short lived when he felt his sister's hand upon him, words urging them to leave. Anthony smiled at her -- a smile far too brought and incredibly elusive since the death of their father.
❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ "Come now!" He said, speaking loudly to battle the noise of the crowd, but unnecessarily loud considering the close proximity that Francesca was to him. "I thought you would be engrossed in conversation with the women here," he added, making both an assumption as well as suggestion for her to go talk to them . . . so that their presence here could remain. Waving his hand to order another drink he averted his attention back to his second youngest sister. "After all, are you not the one who brought me here?" He teased -- a question somewhat rhetorical. He raised his index finger, tapping her nose with it before letting out a small chuckle. Such a jovial side of the Viscount was far too rare, but excessive drink caused it to unleash itself. Unfortunately.

late night talksfrancesca & Anthony
- Francesca Bridgerton - "I am aware of that." She said tightly; annoyed with Anthony's response, she narrowed her eyes and added, "I ... I've seen everything I needed to see here. I had a couple sips of the drink you gave me, which tastes horrible by the way ... " She flinched at the sudden sound of loud chanting mixed with laughter of young men coming from a crowd not far away from them. They were grabbing each other, hugging, pushing, banging on tables ... from the sound of it, someone might have won something but Francesca didn't care enough to pay attention. "Everyone here speaks so loudly and none of what they are saying makes any sense ... to me!"
Truth be told, the reason why Francesca asked to come with Anthony to one of his special parties was because she was ... curious beyond measure as to what goes on in these special parties. And Francesca calls it special because .. well not many ladies her age would attend them, unless under special conditions. And Francesca's special condition was that she had her loving, ever protective brother as her chaperone.
Francesca first heard of these parties when she was in Bath. At one of the balls she attended with her Aunt Winnie, Francesca met another noble young lady the same age as her who she became good friends with not long after. She would often tell Francesca of these special parties she goes to with her older friend - where they would drink and have a ... well from the sound of it, a pleasant time. She mentioned that they would drink and play games all night long.
From what Francesca's seen so far, everything she heard proved to be accurate ... mostly the drinking. After a couple of sips, Francesca understood the appeal - it made her feel lightheaded but not enough for her to be completely incapacitated (perhaps if she drank any more, Anthony would have had to carry her home). However, it was enough for her to long for her bed and ... sleep it off.
And the games .. ? Well, whatever it is they were doing here, it was most certainly not any of the games she was used to.
Another roaring laughter was heard from the same crowd from before, and she flinched again. Leaning closer to her brother, Francesca spoke a little louder to beat the voice of the crowd, "I've grown rather weary of the ambiance. Is this really all you do?" She looked around the room again; her blue eyes watching the crowd that was producing so much noise before looking back at her brother, rather worried.
