[googlefont="Noto Serif:400"][googlefont="Sacramento:400"] [attr="class","target"] sir phillip crane (second - son) tag: @eloisebridgerton notes: none! | [attr="class","targettext"] Honor was everything to Phillip. He lived by it, and the largest decisions -- or decision -- of his life, was made based on honor. He married Marina . . . because of honor. There was no love, and still was none between them. But he did it for his late brother and the children. What he had not expected, was to fall in love after he was married and with a woman that was not his wife. Was it love? What did one feel like when they were in love? Did they feel their heart swell within their chest when that person was near? Did they feel at peace, eased, happy when they spoke to them? Did they think about that person at all times during the day, especially at night when laying in bed alone and wishing it was them at their side? If all these things were what it was to be in love . . . then yes, Phillip Crane was indeed in love.
With all that his marriage lacked, he found happiness and peace in the company of Eloise Bridgerton. It had started off rather innocently, and continued to be so but Phillip knew his own heart was growing with affection. He found himself seeking out her company more than Marina's and . . . for the first time in his left, wished that his honor could be damned. Yet, he somehow withheld himself -- for the time being. He was unsure how strong he could be to remain fighting these feelings for Eloise. She was just . . . everything he longed for and everything he did not have. So much so that he even enjoyed her company in his Greenhouse. Which, was selective to only her. He disallowed anyone else to be in here while he was working and yet Eloise brought with her a light that outshined even the very sun itself. "No," he answered simply, masking the disappointed that his own wife cared little for botany. And of course, the overarching disappointment that his wife was not Eloise Bridgerton.
"S"She does not enjoy the subject nor the activities associated with it." But Eloise had always taken an active interest in his own. Not to mention . . . how well Eloise knew him. "It does provide a certain peace," he agreed. Pausing from his work he turned to look at her. He knew he was not, overly skilled in the ways of words. In conveying how he felt about someone. His mind was screaming that she was not imposing, yet his tongue did not spill such assurances. "What do you do that brings you peace?" Instead, he asked a question to continue the conversation. Eloise was intuitive, highly intelligent. He could only hope that with his inquiry, came understanding that she was not imposing. That he wanted to continue to speak to her. That he wanted her here, with him.

[googlefont="Noto Serif:400"][googlefont="Sacramento:400"] [attr="class","target"] sir phillip crane (second - son) tag: @george notes: none! | [attr="class","targettext"] Things had not been . . . easy since Marina's passing. Though that was perhaps a gross understatement. While life had not exactly been, lively and enjoyable while she was alive, everything felt far more bleak now. Phillip mourned not for the loss of a wife. While he was not heartless, he also knew that he and Marina held no affections for one another. He married her out of honor and duty, and she married him because . . . she was left with no other choice. So Phillip was not naïve nor foolish to believe that their marriage held any sort of love or even happiness. While the loss of a life was indeed a tragic thing -- particularly the way her own ended -- it was not the wife that he mourned. It was the loss of a mother for the children. Amanda and Oliver were his children in all ways apart from blood. He regarded them as his own and loved them as such. But, he knew that fatherhood was not his strength. And yet, they deserved a good father so he would do all he could to provide them that. And eventually, find a suitable and loving mother for them as well.
Since Marina's passing, Phillip found himself in the greenhouse more often, particularly when the children were with their tutor. It allowed Phillip to escape the stresses -- or at least numb them -- of this life and focus on something he rather enjoyed. He had not had many he was able to discuss botany with, for Marina held no interest not even feigned to be interested. So it left Phillip with all this energy and desire to learn more, fascination in hobby to remain silent and unspoken. Many knew not to interrupt him when he was in such a mode, so when his butler burst inside, Phillip immediately stopped at looked at him. The man was pale and out of breath. Something was wrong. "Is it the children?" Phillip immediately asked, that being his first and primary concern. "N-No My Lord. It . . ." The man was a bit out of breath and . . . looked as if he had just seen a ghost. Phillip waited for him to finish but he seemed to be struggling to find the words. "It is . . . " Phillip did not have the patience for this.
"Come on then, out with it." His tone stern but not raised. The butler just stared with him, wide eyed and clearly uncertain how to proceed. "You must come to the house." And Phillip knew well enough that that was the only response he was going to get from him. Letting out an agitated sigh, he set down his tool and made his way to the house. He did not bother to clean himself up as he went through the back door and towards the entrance. When he entered the foyer, Phillip immediately froze. The color drained from his face as he stared at the figure in front of him. This could not possibly be real. This could only be a dream, surely. Phillip's voice went dry and he felt as if he could not speak, let alone breathe. Yet one word came to his lips, the only word he was capable of uttering in this very moment as shock consumed every fiber of his being. "George?"

[googlefont="Noto Serif:400"][googlefont="Sacramento:400"] [attr="class","target"] sir phillip crane (second - son) tag: @george notes: none! | [attr="class","targettext"] Phillip carefully pulled his shirt over his head, the movement causing him to flinch a little. While he had grown accustomed to such pain, it did not diminish it. The combination of sharpness and throbbing would last for days to come and he knew, he could show no sign of it. Not to his father, who would only see it as further opportunity to point out Phillip's weakness.
Only this time, it was so much worse. Because his brother had intervened. Phillip could bear the pain onto himself when left with no choice . . . but seeing his father do it to George, for the sole reason that George attempted to defend and protect Phillip . . . now that was something he could not stand to see. The powerlessness that came with it also fueled his guilt. George was the perfect son, and Phillip could not stand to see him suffer because of the fact that said perfect son, had such a weak brother.
With such guilt eating away at him, Phillip made his way to George's room, lightly knocking on the slightly ajar door before slowly pushing it open. "Brother?" He asked quietly to make his presence known. Phillip never quite knew what to say in such situations. How did he apologize? How did he beg George not to intervene on his behalf anymore? He would have to find a way. "Are . . . are you alright?" Was it incredibly bad? Oh Phillip certainly hoped not. The younger son knew that the scars on his back would never heal and prayed that his dear brother not suffer the same fate.

[googlefont="Noto Serif:400"][googlefont="Sacramento:400"] [attr="class","target"] sir phillip crane (second - son) tag: @eloisebridgerton notes: none! | [attr="class","targettext"] Phillip was unsure how to name the emotion he was experiencing. Nervousness? Perhaps. Uncertainty? Maybe. And . . . there was undoubtedly a bit of excitement. For Eloise Bridgerton was to come visit Romney Hall. They had been in correspondence via letters and Phillip found an unfamiliar ease in talking to her -- or well, technically writing with her he supposed. For so many years he had suppressed his own emotions and even thoughts. Marina's passing had been difficult but it was more due to his children now lacking a mother, than due to love he had for her. For, they were not a love match. Phillip was uncertain he even knew what the emotion of love felt like. But with Eloise, there was a peace and ease . . . a comfort despite not having met. And so, the botanist found himself inevitably excited to make her acquaintance.
Though he certainly showed not sign of it when a servant came to his greenhouse to inform him that she had arrived. Phillip rose from his crouched position, hands still stained with dirt, as were his pants and a spot on his shirt. He could not even roll down his sleeves to appear more . . . well put together. And by the time he cleaned up, he would have kept her waiting far too long. Inwardly cursing at this poor first impression on his part, he made his way to the house and entered the parlor where Eloise had been escorted to wait. "Miss Bridgerton," he greeted with a smile. Having been handed a cloth, he could at least wipe the dirt from his hands -- the rest of it remained stained upon his clothing.
"I . . ." Should he apologize? Should he ignore it? Should he, explain? "Was working outside." That seemed like a perfectly suitable response. But then, Phillip Crane could not be entirely certain for it had been quite some time -- many, many years since making attempt to charm a woman. And this, surely was not the path.

[googlefont="Noto Serif:400"][googlefont="Sacramento:400"] [attr="class","target"] sir phillip crane (second - son) tag: none notes: none! | [attr="class","targettext"] Hi all! SO I had this idea for Phillip and wanted to see if anyone would like to thread it out! Basically -- for those who do not know his story in the show SPOILERS AHEAD -- he came into the scene when receiving letters meant for his brother who died in the war, written by Marina. Because he learned of her situation aka that she was pregnant, he offered to marry her.
Ok so here comes my idea . . . WHAT IF, before all that happened, he was in love with another! Either they were engaged or not, but they were happily in love until . . . he chose honor over his heart and had to end things to honor his late brother!
Now because of the nature of this plot and the very limited info we have on Phillip, this would be an AU plot! Which means that whatever we plan, would not effect your character's canon! And thus, it would give us more freedom! I'm up for doing this with a canon or oc character! We could plot out how they meet, them falling in love, and of course the inevitable heartbreak that comes after! The other option is that we make it canon but if anything happens in the show to conflict with it, we can move it to AU! It just depends on how things play out.
Anyhoo! Just wanted to post this here to see if anyone is interested exploring this idea! Feel free to reply to this thread or shoot me a PM to further discuss it! Thanks for reading! =)

| INTENDED, WIFE, MOTHER DETAILS so I would love to have a Marina on the site considering how things left off at the end of season 1! I feel like their dynamic is an incredibly complex one and am looking forward to delving more deeply into it. THREADS lots of potential here! We could have threads where things left off at the end of season 1; they get married, move to Romney Hall, etc. I also really loved the book (To Sir Phillip With Love) as we get a glimpse into the future. So we can have some book based aus on that with lots of years to fill in. I'm honestly up for all kinds of plots with these two as I think it will be heartbreaking as well as so much fun to see how the two of them navigate through their challenges. | SON, BROTHER, BEST FRIEND DETAILS so I know we don't know a great deal about George apart from what the show revealed and the few book tidbits, but I thought it could be super fun to have a George on the site! You would have a lot of creative freedom where his personality is concerned and such! THREADS lots of potential here! We could have threads where George and Phillip are growing up (since we all know how Thomas was), and then threads where they are older, maybe where George tells Phillip he's going to war! And then of course lots of aus where what if George doesn't die! And if you want major angst . . . an au where what if everyone thought George was dead, Phillip married Marina, and then George comes back to them! Talk about awkward! So yess, I have lots of ideas for these two! FACECLAIM So just as you have creative freedom with his personality and things, you can pick your own face claim! Although I imagine that if we ever see him on the show, you may have to change that! But chances are . . . we sadly won't be seeing him in the series! Which makes me more hopeful that we see him here on the site! FEEL FREE TO REPLY HERE OR PM ME! |

[googlefont="Noto Serif:400"][googlefont="Sacramento:400"] [attr="class","target"] sir phillip crane (second - son) tag: @francescab notes: none! | [attr="class","targettext"] Phillip stood nearby to see how he could assist her in the situation. She revealed that she sprained her ankle and . . . well this went beyond his scope of expertise. Had they been at Romney Hall or closer, perhaps he could have created a medicinal drink to help ease the pain, much as he had for her brother's son.
But considering they were in the city, there was only another alternative that would hopefully help. "Shall I send for a doctor?" He asked, knowing that a trained professional would be better suited to assess the damage than her. But first, perhaps he could get her away from the stairs. "If you would like to lean on me, perhaps we can make way to the drawing room." Where she would be able to elevate it and rest comfortably until someone was able to examine her.

[googlefont="Noto Serif:400"][googlefont="Sacramento:400"] [attr="class","target"] sir phillip crane (second - son) tag: @philipaf notes: made this scenariovery book based! | [attr="class","targettext"] Random line generator selected: "I want to turn back the clock to before..."
It was a somber occasion today, as it had been for the past few ones. Ever since the news reached those who had known her, families had been coming to Romney Hall to pay their respects. Most recently, the Featheringtons. Marina's passing was indeed a devastating one and having to tell the twins was one of the most difficult tasks he had ever had to do. Getting through this, would not be easy. Though she was absent -- more mentally than physically -- in their lives, she was still their mother. She still held the title to that role and now, she was gone.
She had taken her own life and Phillip wondered what more he could have done to help her. Hearing footsteps approaching, he did not even look to see who it was, presuming it was one of the Featherington sisters. He kept looking outside, standing in the backyard and staring at the open green space. At nothing in particular really, though his mind was racing. His heart swelled with emotions . . . guilt, being the greatest of all. "I want to turn back the clock to before..." Before when. When was the last time that any of them had been truly happy? "George passed." Before the death of his brother. He and Marina could have been married and all this could have been avoided. But now, George had passed. Marina had passed. And left were those who mourned them both.

[googlefont="Noto Serif:400"][googlefont="Sacramento:400"] [attr="class","target"] sir phillip crane (second - son) tag: @polinshipper82 notes: none! | [attr="class","targettext"] Ever since meeting Helena Bishop at the university in a rather, unexpected way . . . he had been looking forward to seeing her again. Preferably without so many people around them or in a setting that required haste due to other commitments. So when she had invited him to her cottage to court her, he had of course come. For he would not do anything to dishonor a woman. His honor is what defined him a great deal and so, had every intention of remaining respectful and courteous. That being said, it had seemed rather easy to lose track of the world and all sense of time. They had spent what seemed like hours together and perhaps even longer for Phillip had not fully realized that he had drifted to sleep. And it was indeed one of the most restful, peaceful sleeps he had had.
His awakening of equal comfort as he felt a soft touch on his cheeks, prompting a small smile upon his lips as he slowly opened his eyes to see the image of Helena greeting his day. "Good morning," he greeted, the smile remaining as he reached up to tuck a loose stand of her hair behind her ear, his fingers ever so carefully brushing the soft skin of her cheek. The peaceful moment lingered for a few more moments before reality quickly set in. Phillip abruptly sat in an upright position, the smile fading as he looked at her with a bit more concern. "My sincere apologies," he stated, realizing what he had done . . . what he had allowed to happen and feared the offense he may have caused her or her family. "I completely lost track of the time." He had lost track of everything really, for it seemed quite easy to just lose all else when in her company.

[googlefont="Noto Serif:400"][googlefont="Sacramento:400"] [attr="class","target"] sir phillip crane (second - son) notes: OMG ITS PERFECT! So steamy and uhh, hope mine is ok as well! hahah! | [attr="class","targettext"] His plan had indeed worked, and it seemed to result in something rather enjoyable for them both. He could practically feel her start to ease into the kiss, the abruptness of it ebbed with what he hoped was the passion with which he kissed her. Completely in tune with her body, he felt each shift within her . . . the way she relaxed into him, the way her hand went to his chest. It felt perfect and soon the need to silence were was starting to become outweighed by . . . well, just the need for her. To have a wife so desirable and one who desired him seemed like such a simple want. Yet, it was something that Phillip would never take for granted, having been without such a relationship for so many years.
To add on to the perfection of this moment, he moved with Eloise as she pulled him towards a wall. It was as if she knew him so well, was so understanding of him . . . or perhaps it was just that she held the same desires too. When she eased out of the kiss, Phillip slowly opened his eyes, finding it ended far too soon, as he now had one hand on her cheek, the other on her waist . . . and his body, pressed against hers where her back was pressed against the wall of his greenhouse. And he ensured to keep it pressed there, wanting her to remain in place. Wanting her near him, with him.
And then she started talking again. Only this time, he did not mind nor was he lost in the conversation. A smile crept up on his lips in response to her own smirk and words of capturing her attention. Success felt wonderful. Victory felt sensational. And desire . . . felt unsated. He said nothing before she kissed him again, this time more deeply and his intentions more set. Because he wanted her. It was rather incredible how she held so much power over him, whether she realized it or not. The ability to spur such strong longings and needs within him from a simple kiss; from a simple glance.
Breathing into the kiss, he coaxed her mouth open with his own to further deepen in. Drinking in her delicious taste and breathing in her intoxicating scent. His hand on her waist moved to start to bunch her dress in his hand, in attempt to raise it. "Indeed it was," he spoke against her lips, responding to her earlier words though was not about to do anything to revert her back to her ramblings. "And I shall aim to maintain it," he added with clear suggestion in his voice, as if his actions did not indicate it enough. His hand one her cheek lowered, sliding down her chest to feel the perfect mounds of her body while his other hand moved to raise her dresses and inwardly cursing at how much fabric was involved in their creation. Never did he think that the greenhouse would be a space where he would long for such things and yet, Eloise Bridgerton had changed his entire world for the better.

[googlefont="Noto Serif:400"][googlefont="Sacramento:400"] [attr="class","target"] sir phillip crane (second - son) tag: @marinat notes: none! | [attr="class","targettext"] Seeing Marina smile was indeed a beautiful sight. He knew that this arrangement was not ideal in regards to marriage for love. But none the less, he hoped to provide her with a life of security, safety and stability. And . . . perhaps the two of them could one day indeed show affection and deep care for one another. Phillip's own certainty of it, in the fact that his brother would have wanted her looked after. But despite the marriage, he would not . . . pressure her for intimacy. They had not kissed yet and he certainly could not expect a great deal of physical intimacy beyond that considering she was with child, and quite far along from what he had learned.
So now, when she leaned towards him, smiling and whispering for him to kiss her, Phillip remained still. Her hand on his cheek more gentle than he could have imagined. Her soft touch tender and sparking the longing any man would have for such a touch from a beautiful woman. She sounded so sure in her words, everything in this moment indicating that she was ready for such an action. Obviously, she was an experienced woman but it was not that which made him pause at her boldness. It was the fact that she was ready to kiss him. "If you are certain . . . " He both stated and asked, wanting her to completely sure that she was ready for that step in their new relationship. For if she was, then he would most certainly be too.
