I'm not bound by Benedict awaited Lewis' response, hoping to hear about the details of his trip . . . yet, the Bridgerton son was learning that Lewis was not a man of detail. His answers were to the point, and some offered a bit more of an elaboration, but nothing overly so. Yes. Benedict was finally picking up on this pattern from the man. Perhaps it was not offense that drove him but rather, the manner of the man. And Benedict was far from judging anyone because of it.
◈ ◈ ◈ ◈ ◈ "That is good that you enjoyed your trip," Benedict said, though wondered if Lewis would say whether he didn't. Benedict knew that some remained polite about subjects even when their true thoughts contradicted their words. But in this case, Benedict would go with the assumption that there was no cause for Lewis to lie about it. He commented on the stunning buildings, and Benedict tried once more to discover any of the man's interests that would perhaps encourage him to feel comfortable in conversing about it. "So you enjoy architect then?" Since, Lewis had after all mentioned the buildings . . . perhaps he enjoyed seeing the different structures and appreciated the art of them.

I'm not bound by Benedict was rather excited for today. While he knew that he was perhaps more interested in art than the rest of his family, some of them still enjoyed seeing it. And today, he was going to be spending the day with Daphne at the museum. It had been some time since Benedict spent time with her, let alone it just being the two of them. But he had been quite excited when she agreed to come all this way, for he knew the journey was not a short one. Having already arrived, he was waiting by the door and by the time he made way to the carriage, Daphne was already out and letting the driver know that she would be several hours.
◈ ◈ ◈ ◈ ◈ "At the very least," he said with a smile, as he made his presence known, referring to her being several hours long. Moving forward he hugged his younger sister in greeting. "It is good to see you Daff," he told her sincerely, as he drew back from the hug. Looking at her, he could not help but notice that her features were slightly paled. "Are you well?" He asked. "I know the journey was a long one." Gratitude in his voice for the fact that she had made it, just to spend time with him. A sentiment that he would not take for granted, especially as it pulled her from her husband and others in their family. But today, he was simply glad to spend the day with her.

I'm not bound by To be invited to someone's home, not out of obligation or for the sake of remaining polite . . . had a whole new joy to it. One that Benedict was experiencing for the first time to this extent. The simplicity, as if it did not in fact hold deeper repercussions. No. Benedict's thought of the future was only towards the next time he got to see her. Surely, it did not go any deeper than that. Or at least, his mind did not allow it to.
◈ ◈ ◈ ◈ ◈ "That is a relief to hear," he told her playfully, though he did mean the words. To know that the invitation stood, that it may always stand so long as they remain as such. Yet, in this current time, he could not think of what could possibly drive a wedge between them. Everything was going so exceptionally well and this, being here together in her home, in her bed, was clear indication of that. When she spoke of showing him, Benedict was immediately intrigued, slightly raising an eyebrow to express as much. The look soon changed to amusement however, when she commented on his innocence, and corrupting him. The intrigue only built, especially upon the implications of her words . . . and the way she began to kiss over his skin and touch him. He slowly exhaled, watching her while basking in the sensation of her touch, his hands moving with her as she moved over him.
◈ ◈ ◈ ◈ ◈ He closed his eyes for a brief moment, thoroughly enjoying her attentions on her body and . . . the mischievous tone she held. It was enough to prompt his eyes to open, that look in her eyes matching her tone and only further enticed him. His hand that had been toying with her hair, slid to the back of her head as his lips curved into a smile. "If it involves more of your soft lips and touches, then I would be most inclined to say that I am quite willing to be corrupted." The words holding clear suggestiveness and flirtation. While he would say he was far from innocent, he also knew that technically, he was knew to such environments as the one that initially brought him and Genevieve together. "Show me, Genevieve," he breathed, the intrigue in his eyes returning and a willingness to further explore her . . . 'corruption' of him.

I'm not bound by Benedict nodded in understanding as Lews explained that he had studied here in London and had gone after his studies. "I see," Benedict stated, taking another stip of his drink, grateful that he still had some in the glass.
◈ ◈ ◈ ◈ ◈ "And so did you, enjoy your time there? Apart from the company," Benedict added with a continued smiling, referring to Morrison as being that company. Going on tour was also a wonderful experience. Colin was set to commence his soon enough and it often proved to be quite an enriching experience.
◈ ◈ ◈ ◈ ◈ Benedict enjoyed hearing stories from others of the places they visited, as everyone's interests were different and thus, their experiences. So for as much as Lewis was willing to share, Benedict was of course set to listen. After all, it seemed to keep the man talking as well. Where he had initially dismissed too much talk of his profession, perhaps this would be an easier segway into it, or something.

I'm not bound by Benedict was quite relieved when Lewis offered a more, detailed answer as oppose to a laconic one. It would seem that their mutual friend was a safe subject indeed . . . at least for the time being. The Bridgerton son smiled politely, listening intently as Lewis explained that Morrison had acted as his guide during his tour of anatomy schools. He should have known that the question would be returned to him, though Benedict knew he could answer truthfully enough without divulging too much of the . . . setting itself.
◈ ◈ ◈ ◈ ◈ "We met at a party," he told him. No need to mention what kind of party nor what they did at the party. Benedict almost wondered if Morrison had played his little assumption game with Lewis. An amusing thought that was. "I have not known him long, but he seems like a good man, and I am fortunate to call him friend." Praises of the man were genuine, and clearly Lewis and Morrison were close as well. "That sounds like quite an interesting experience, touring different anatomy schools. Which one did you settle on?" Benedict knew he had just been treading safe territory when it came to topics to discuss, but he decided to further risk it by asking questions of his education leading to his current profession. He just hoped he would not regret doing son.

I'm not bound by 47. My muse comes to yours after being assaulted.
◈ ◈ ◈ ◈ ◈ Benedict had been invited to a party by a friend of Henry's. It was, the sort of party that Henry hosted and as it was through a mutual friend -- where Mr. Granville would also be in attendance -- Benedict was inclined to accept the invitation. It was however, in a part of town he did not frequent often. Well on the other side and not quite where those of higher rank resided. Benedict cared little for such things, as he did not judge one based on their class. Such was clear by the company that he kept in recent days. The party had been quite enjoyable, Benedict relishing in the freedoms that came at such events. He had lost track of the late hour and once realized, thanked the host and bid farewell.
◈ ◈ ◈ ◈ ◈ That was the last clear thing he remembered. Walking home, and suddenly being surrounded by a group of men. Dark figures that he could not made out in the poorly lit area. And then, there was darkness. By the time Benedict opened his eyes, he felt the throbbing of his body and tasted blood in his mouth. Groaning he attempted to sit up, unable to see his face but judging from the blood in his mouth and the pain throbbing throughout his face, at his eye and jaw . . . there were bruises. The upright position also caused a pain in his chest, putting his hand on it and slightly wincing at the sensitivity of the touch. It was however here that he noticed his wallet was missing, as well as his stop watch and well, anything else of value.
◈ ◈ ◈ ◈ ◈ The walk home had been utterly painful, but he had little other choice. He never thought he'd be so happy to see his home, although he did not go in right away. He needed to sit first, and regain himself. With any luck, everyone would be asleep and he would not have to face his brothers or mother in this state. Marks upon his face of a clear assault and torn clothing to further reveal it. If anywhere else on his body was injured, whatever adrenaline prompted him to reach home safely, was numbing it, though he felt his head starting to ache and his body start to weaken. He made his way to the backyard, staggering through the path as he planned to sit on the swing . . . only to see Eloise in the near distance.
◈ ◈ ◈ ◈ ◈ He could tell by the way her body tensed and the quick dropping of the cigarette that she had already heard him though evidently knowing it was not him based on her reaction n. He closed his eyes for a moment, not wanting her to see him like this. Never wanting her to see him in such a state of disarray and dishevelment. But . . . perhaps she could help him. He trusted her of course, and well, what other choice did he have. "It's just me," he assured her, stepping closer to her and hoping that the darkness helped hide most of the injuries he'd sustained.

I'm not bound by Oh dear. It appeared that Benedict had offended Lewis and his mind tried to trail back as to what he had said, unable to come up with something obvious. It could be in what he said, or what he had not. Either way, Lewis asked Benedict directly what he had wanted to know and the second Bridgerton son had not expected such . . . directness.
◈ ◈ ◈ ◈ ◈ "Uh, well . . . " His mind trying to think of a question that he hoped would not further offend Mr. Anwyl. "How . . . did you come to meet Mr. Morrison?" Benedict immediately took a sip of his drink to prevent himself from saying anything further. He hoped that was a safe question, considering it was about a mutual friend. The very friend who had made introduction. Surely there was nothing offensive about that? But Benedict was not entirely sure, starting to doubt himself yet appeared as composed as he could be . . . it helped that he had his drink in hand and to fill his mouth to cease from going on senselessly.

I'm not bound by Why they had to travel so far for a damn ball, Benedict would never understand. It was quite far away to be worth what it was and the only fortunate thing about it . . . was that he and Eloise had managed to get away. The others would undoubtedly stay far letter but Benedict and his sister had been prepared to leave. This was one of the many reasons he adored his younger sister; she was often of a similar mind as he. So alas, they were on the long journey back to the house, early enough in the night that Benedict hoped to see his sister safely home and then perhaps attend his own kind of party.
◈ ◈ ◈ ◈ ◈ He was just relieved that they escaped the mind numbingly dull event that was apparently the talk of the ton. Benedict was peeking out the window, trying to familiarize himself with where they were though this area was rather unrecognizable. "How far did we stray for a mere party?" He thought out loud; the question rhetorical but he welcomed any answer from Eloise who sat across him. It was not but a moment after that the carriage jolted, tilting to one side abruptly causing them both to slide to one end, before it jolted again, stumbling on the ground from the other side, causing them to slide in the opposite direction.
◈ ◈ ◈ ◈ ◈ Benedict had just barley caught his balance from falling onto the floor of the carriage, though the carriage slid a bit before finally ceasing to a halt. His immediate reaction, was to see to Eloise. "El," he quickly stated, immediately rushing to the opposite side where she had been previously sitting to make sure she was ok. "Are you hurt?" He further inquired, voice holding concern. If he had to guess, it felt as if the wheels of the carriage had completely come off . . . but that was not his primary concern. He first wished to see that his sister was alright and unharmed from the sudden, unexpected event.

I'm not bound by Well, that question was certainly an . . . unexpected one. Benedict supposed it made sense, considering the man was a surgeon and so the suggestion of a more, anatomical approach of a model was only logical. Perhaps the unexpectedness was also a result of Benedict not being used to talking about his art, at all. Taking a sip from his drink he swallowed before responding as best as he could. Which, would be with honesty. "I can't say I have, studied it that is," he told him.
◈ ◈ ◈ ◈ ◈ "I have recently been practicing with live models," Thanks to Henry providing him with a means and setting to do that. "Other times it is just scribbles in my sketchbook," he said jokingly -- though with truth -- as he tried to lighten the conversation, or perhaps it was more about easing Lewis. Never the less his worlds held true; Benedict had always been practicing the human form, whether it was just parts of the body or the body as a whole. Lewis had stated before his question that he had no interest in art . . . so Benedict tried to think of the next appropriate question to keep the conversation moving. "So tell me a bit about yourself Mr. Anwyl. I fear the subject has lingered far too long on me," he said smiling, the tease at his own expense.

I'm not bound by The conversation abruptly changed when Morrison seemed to have caught sight of a familiar face; a friend it would seem. Benedict's line of sight had not followed Connor's so he was unsure who he had recognized. Never the less, if she wished to make an introduction then of course Benedict would not refuse.
◈ ◈ ◈ ◈ ◈ Before he could respond, Connor was already off towards the person's direction. Benedict took another sip of his champagne and followed Morrison. On the way, briefly greeting those who he passed as they too greeted him. Whoever this man was, Connor seemed eager to be in his company, or introduce him. Either way, Benedict made sure to follow his lead, not losing him in the crowd and well, being right back where he started prior to Connor approaching him.

I'm not bound by Benedict did not fail to notice the dismissive nature of his answer. He supposed it was fair; considering Benedict did the same. Only the difference was that Benedict was not successful in this . . . aspiring career. Lewis on the other hand, was an established surgeon. Did he not wish to speak of it? Benedict of course remained polite, for at least the man continued to inquire and thus, allowed the conversation to continue.
◈ ◈ ◈ ◈ ◈ Even if the subject had been brought back to his horrid artwork. To reject the topic now -- twice -- would appear rude. So Benedict was left with little choice than to answer. "My current focus is the human form," he explained. "It is an area I find most inspiring." He had practiced parts of the human body, as well as its full form. But practice was all it remained until he perfected it. Whether that day came or not . . . he could not say. "Do you, share a similar interest?" Benedict asked, wondering if the man before him also enjoyed art and held desire to discuss it. Something told Benedict it was not quite that, but it almost seemed as if Lewis was getting to something.

I'm not bound by Benedict continued to enjoy the way she said his name. The different tones in which she spoke it, now said so casually in conversation. He took a moment to appreciate that, the smile upon his lips unwavering. "It is beyond my satisfaction," he told her truthfully. It was filled with comfort and should that not what a house be? It was not size of a residence that mattered but what was within it. His own home was filled with love and family, and here . . . he felt a comfort, ease and . . . much more.
◈ ◈ ◈ ◈ ◈ It was the company of course but the house was reflective of Genevieve. When she said she was was delighted he had accepted it, and earned himself a second invitation . . . Benedict felt, excited at the very thought of coming again. It would make parting ways this time far easier, knowing it would not be the last. Knowing, that they now had a place they could come to that no longer relied on Henry Granville's parties. "I did not even consider denying such an invitation," he told her, wanting her to know that as soon as she had said extended it, the answer was not one he need think over. "Nor will I ever so long as the invitations continue to stand," he added on, kissing her again as if to further seal his words of promise that he would never not want to come.
◈ ◈ ◈ ◈ ◈ When she shifted in his arms a little, he let out a breath of amusement when her lips brushed against his, raising his head a little to try to seal it in a kiss, but to no avail. Not that he minded. When she commented on the bed being more than just comfortable, a look of curiosity -- feigned and exaggerated -- crossed his features. "And what further purpose would it have?" He asked with playful innocence. "If not purely for comfort." He just wanted to hear her elaborate, continuing the dynamic that had so easily been created between them. He leaned forward to place a few light kisses on her shoulder while awaiting her answer, finding it impossible not to touch her with them however he could.

I'm not bound by Benedict didn't frequent the gentlemen's club quite as often as Anthony, but the times he did go, he enjoyed himself well enough. At least there, his mother could not pester him about marriage and the like. So yes. It was quite nice to get out of that situation everyone once in a while. Today proved no exception as he mingled among familiar friends and acquaintances. With his drink in hand, he even caught the familiar sight of Connor. An immediate greeting upon his lips as he made introductions of his friend Lewis.
◈ ◈ ◈ ◈ ◈ Benedict smiled at the man with a small nod of greeting. But no sooner, did Morrison make his leave from them to mingle with someone else. Leaving the two on their own. But the circumstance was not as traumatizing to Benedict as it was to Lewis -- not that Benedict knew that to be the reason the other man looked a bit. . . uneasy. Though he did still made attempt at conversation. Of which, Benedict was glad for. That is, until he called him an artist. Benedict smiled politely, knowing that he was undeserving of that term and the fact that was Morrison used it so freely . . . was both flattering and inaccurate.
◈ ◈ ◈ ◈ ◈ "Artist is a generous term," Benedict replied with a continued smile. "I dabble," he admitted though knew that that was all it was. He could not take credit for being an artist, and thus, placed in the same category as those so exceptionally skilled such as Henry Granville. "What about yourself? Mr. Morrison tells me you are a surgeon." He would leave the rest out since Connor had clearly also teased Lewis about a couple of things. Hopefully the subject of familiarity to Lewis, would distract any notion of Benedict actually being a successful artist.

I'm not bound by Benedict easily accepted that this was the most comfortable he had felt after their time together and . . . he saw no problem with it. He embraced it, closing his eyes as she kissed him with a gentle touch. Gone was the haste and need to find release in the limited time they had. And left . . . was so much. This. All of it. Being able to hold her, and enjoy one another's company in private. Absent of parties and the public and everything else. It added so much warmth to each brush of her lips against his skin, along with the tender kiss upon his lips. He breathed into it, the feelings of relaxation and euphoric bliss all consuming. The affection she poured into it felt, and returned as he too let it speak instead of words.
◈ ◈ ◈ ◈ ◈ Easing out of it, he smiled, placing a couple more soft kisses on her lips before just looking at her, memorizing how she looked in the after glow of their actions, now that he was able to take the time to fully appreciate the sight. He continued to twirl a ringlet of her hair around his finger, enjoying the softness of it, while his other hand remained caressing her back. Everything about this felt . . . perfect. Utterly perfect.
◈ ◈ ◈ ◈ ◈ "This is indeed far more comfortable," he said playfully, though with truth. "Your home is lovely." And he meant every word. There was no tone of mockery or disapproval. No taunt or anything indicating that it was anything less than perfect. It was quaint, and so very much her. Tilting his head a little so that their noses brushed against one another he paused before reaching his lips to continue. "Thank you for inviting me into it." His words filled with genuine sincerity as he lightly kissed her lips again. Despite any rank or status . . . being here, with her was not something he easily took for granted.
