TAG: @pegslade i have sworn TO DO VERY FOOLISH THINGS random number generator selected 18. My muse is been beaten badly and is in bad shape, yours finds mine in this state. Well, that had not been one of Vaughn's greatest ideas. But then, his quick and unpredictable temper often tended to land him in some form of trouble. The only difference this time, was that he did not have his crew surrounding him. But he could not resist making comments towards the pompous Earl and his minions surrounding him. Insults and mockery had landed him into a rather . . . unfair fight, for the pirate was outnumbered. Despite attempts, he was left on the ground, bloodied and bruised.
Spitting out a mouthful of the blood, Vaughn picked himself up, forcing himself to make his way to the darkened streets of the city. His hand skimmed along the side of a building to help support him until he felt he was stable enough to walk without it. But damn, did it hurt to move. He needed a drink to help numb the pain . . . and an idea to plot his revenge against the bastards. Spitting on the ground again, he realized that he wasn't going to make it much further and wound up sinking down to the ground. His back was against the wall, legs outstretched into the path of anyone walking by, hat titled downward, and clothes stained with blood. He really, really needed a damn drink right about now.

i have sworn TO DO VERY FOOLISH THINGS When she stated that her services were no longer open, confirming that she knew he could pay . . . Vaughn continued to wait for her to get to the point. Already to much time had been wasted talking so he was now waiting for her to spit it out. And when she did, he started at her for a moment before he started chuckling with amusement. Now that, was entertaining indeed.
"A fucking mistress," he repeated, still highly amused at the idea of her being someone's mistress. "I see. You are too good for your clients now." A man who could afford a mistress to pay well enough that she promised exclusivity was no doubt, a noble. And Vaughn despised anyone of nobility. "You have been bought now, no longer rented," he said with a continue gleam of amusement in his eyes. "Who is the fucking bastard?" He asked, still chuckling. He cursed him, not because she now was his, but because Vaughn knew he most certainly had to be of higher rank and that . . . was enough reason for him to hate him.

i have sworn TO DO VERY FOOLISH THINGS The man cursed at Vaughn but all the pirate could do was smirk at him . . . a satisfaction that he was getting to him. His enraged inquiry and further demand did indeed irritate James. It reinforced the entitled, arrogant bastards that all nobility were. "God is not showing you any favour here noble," he told him, the latter word not meant to address him with any respect. In fact, he made it sound like an insult. "You are in my fucking kingdom now." His boat, his land, his rules. He was far from the comfort of his estate . . . or estates. Here, there were no servants, no drivers, no one at his beck and call. Returning the intense gaze, he narrowed his eyes at the man.
"Best you remember that." A warning, a threat. And if he cared not for his life, he would use the leverage that he did have. William also mentioned coin and this, was enough to capture the interest of any pirate indeed. "Well, now here is the problem you face, one of many in fact," he began to say in feigned contemplation. "You are not giving me anything. I am taking it." Thus, the whole notion of ransom seemed rather . . . obsolete. Why not maximize it now that he had gained not only a noble bitch, but a noble bastard as well. "Which means, the terms will have to be renegotiated . . . now that I have a Duke aboard my ship." A sinister smirk played on his features for while a woman could get him coin, a Duke . . . could get him a whole lot more.

i have sworn TO DO VERY FOOLISH THINGS Couldn't afford her anymore? Vaughn scoffed at the very notion, disbelieving it for even a moment. She added on that she did not think he would waste this time tracking her down and she was indeed right for it had previously occurred to him . . . how much time was wasted indeed. "Only parts of you," he told her crudely, in response to her suggestion of missing him. "Certainly not your ability to draw out conversation," he added on, moving closer towards her.
"Have you forgotten, that I can always afford you," he told her with a smirk, though there was a firmness to his voice too. Despite the growing risk of his endeavours, they still proved to be fruitful; still profitable. So long as he did not have to keep diluting this profit between many others. He was however, still captain and that brought with it, certain luxuries. "Now take off your clothes," he told her, clear demand in his voice. "Unless you have forgotten how to do that too," he joked mockingly.

i have sworn TO DO VERY FOOLISH THINGS Being at sea for significant amounts of time could leave a man rather . . . unfulfilled. So upon his return to ground, he often sought that initial release; pent up frustrations finding way to bring him ease. And, it was how he enjoyed spending majority of his time in the city. Tonight, that time had been spent in the company of a bar maid, having initially ordered a drink before desiring something stronger to satisfy him. He had her on top of his lap, his hand having made way up and under her dress while she giggled at his wicked words of what he wanted to do to her. Hell, he would do it right here if need be. But before he could even get to any such actions, she was pulled off of him . . . the warmth of her body gone and the desire that was building, waned.
Vaughn did not move, remaining in his seat with his back leaned against the wall. Now ordinarily, a man would be most agitated when a woman was pulled from his grasp. But in this case . . . a woman, far more beautiful than the one he had been enjoying replaced her. And, her question demonstrated just how sufficiently she would replace her indeed. Vaughn's eyes slowly moved over the stranger, taking in every detail of her form, particularly the parts that made her the woman that she was. His tongue ran over his bottom lip as he eventually met her gaze, he demeanour still relaxed while tilting his head slightly to the side. "Not at all," he finally answered after getting a good look at her. "In fact, it is quite ready and sturdy for you." His words holding a clear tone of suggestive innuendo, as he expected her to sit down upon it.

i have sworn TO DO VERY FOOLISH THINGS Vaughn remained in his comfortable position as she told him that her services were no longer available. Well that sounded familiar. She had once said similar words when she first started her own brothel. Vaughn was an unphased then as he was now. Relentlessly so. "Your current deal of . . . what, being a whore?" He said with feigned curiosity and a touch of sarcasm. What kind of current deal could be possibly have that deterred her from taking on clients? No, that deterred her from him.
He did not give a shit about her other clients, but he did expect her to fulfil his own desires . . . especially as he was not one to swindle her business. Shockingly. "I have travelled too far to hear the same fucking nonsense," he dismissed, lowering his feet so that he could sit up more properly and look at her. "Do you think I cannot pay?" He said with a mischevious smirk, along with a tone of aggressive accusation, practically daring her to vocalize such a belief. "Now are we quite finished with the talk. I would much rather your tongue be put to better use." For he knew quite well just how skillful that tongue of hers could be, in more pleasurable ways that delivering sharp words and denial of his needs.

i have sworn TO DO VERY FOOLISH THINGS Vaughn followed her lead up the stairs and towards a private room. Once there, he took a couple of steps inside of it, not straying too far from the door, and thus, not moving significantly far from her. He began to take off his gloves, tossing them on a small table set to the side along with his hat as he turned to face her. She offered him a drink and while it was quite tempting, another temptation took precedence. The drink would be there when he was done. Right now, he needed to scratch an itch and bring his yearning body to some satisfaction. Only then, would he be able to find enough ease to function and thus, enjoy a drink.
Moving forward, prompting her to move with him, pressing her forward until her back was against the wall, his body pressed against hers to keep it in place. With the significant height different, he hoisted her up a little for his own convenience, leaning close to her so that their lips were hardly an inch apart, nearly brushing against one another. "I require something more substantial to quench my thirst," he told her in a low, gruff voice. One hand firmly gripped her chin, turning her head to the side, while the other fell to his pants to start to undo them. He pressed his lips towards her ear, speaking directly in them with the same tone of voice. "Let us see if you are any good for it," he said a bit mockingly, before running his tongue over the side of her cheek in a short path.

i have sworn TO DO VERY FOOLISH THINGS Vaughn was not one who often sought out help. And . . . he supposed he didn't quite see this as asking for it. His focus was victory, and he would do whatever he could to attain that. Even if it meant enlisting the help of Keya herself. After all, should this be a success, her 'boss' may profit from it too. But Vaughn did not want to involve the man if he could help it; he would much rather keep all the profit for himself. Sharing was also not his strong suit. It said that a nobleman was setting out a ship that was full of riches . . . only Vaughn did not know the logistics of where or when he was setting it to sail. He couldn't exactly lurk by the docks awaiting the ship; he had to leave enough time between pursuing it. So he needed Keya to find out more information. After all, a beautiful woman was far more likely to extract information without than a brutish male. And Vaughn would rather do this quietly so not to arouse suspicion.
The pirate entered the bar that he knew she frequented, finding it a rather good place until they inevitably would take things to a more, private location. For more reasons than one. With his eyes scanning the crowd, he saw her sitting on a stool at the bar, a man sitting next to her. Whether it was someone she knew or not, he cared for not . . . he approached him, grabbed him by his collar and threw him off the stool. The man stumbled to the floor, clearly too drunk to pick a fight . . . as he struggled to regain his balance -- and orientation from the looks of it. Vaughn nonchalantly sat on the stool, waving his hand for the barkeep to bring him a drink, before turning to the dark haired woman. "And here I thought you would be saving a seat for me." Though of course, she didn't exactly know he was coming. None the less, his arrogant attitude brought the teasing words, with a smirk playing upon his roguish features.

i have sworn TO DO VERY FOOLISH THINGS The days of piracy were growing more risky. The age of privateering was starting to become more distance and less in number . . . leaving Vaughn bitter at the bastards who now pretended as if they were too good to enlist the services of his crew. While his privateering endeavours had indeed mixed with that of pirating . . . it still did not lessen the bitter taste left in his mouth. He had returned to London, his men starting to -- as he liked to put it -- defect from this life. He would need a new crew, which he was already loathing to find. The anger and stress of it all had him in strong indeed to alleviate it . . . and he knew just the place and person to assist in the matter. Making his way inside the familiar brothel, the women in there did not even bother to tell him otherwise.
They knew why he was here and they knew whom for. At least, the women of familiarity. The new ones, he gave no shit towards. He made his way to her office, pushing open the door without bothering to knock -- after all, pirates were not known for their manners. Something that she had sarcastically commented on which only left a smirk upon his face. "I shall compensate for the noise soon enough," he told her suggestively, stepping inside her office and kicking the door shut behind him. His smirk had a flicker of a glare when she called him by his first name, for it was not the norm nor desired by him . . . something that she most certainly knew. Stepping closer to her desk, he seated himself on the chair, raising his feet on top of the surface of her desk, uncaring what documents lay there that would be dirtied under his feet. "Must we waste time on the same conversation, Izzie?" He questioned, leaning back in the chair a little as his eyes moved over her. "I am not here to fucking talk," he told her with a mischievous smile.

i have sworn TO DO VERY FOOLISH THINGS They said that people were creatures of habit, and in some ways . . . this was true for even James Vaughn. While unpredictability made him feared by some, whether it be his crew or people that stood in his way, there were certain aspects of his life that called for consistency. One such being what awaited him when he returned to land. He expected to go to the brothel he frequented whilst here -- which he had -- and he expected to be met with his favorite prostitute -- which he had not. The news of her having left left him . . . annoyed. It took some asking and more pursuing than Vaughn cared for, to find out that she had started her own business in London of course. What a fucking waste of time. For all the effort he had spent searching for her, could have been used in far more pleasurable ways. And yet, it was the principle of the matter that kept him on this path.
No. Perhaps that was incorrect. Vaughn did not exactly have strong principles. Perhaps, it was just a matter of pride. That he did not like to be told no; he did not like to not have his way or be told he could not have something. And of course . . . she was one of the better romps he'd had. So when he finally found her new establishment, he burst through the door, demanding to know where Isabel Mayfield was. A voice told him that she was not accepting clients and he made a face at that, as if he was even asking. He was not about to have come all this way, only to leave . . . unsatisfied.
He'd wasted enough damn time. So he completely ignored their insistent words and in his over entitled pirate ways, moved towards what he presumed to be the office. Apparently, she was in charge so logic dictated she was there. If she was not, he would wait. But finally, luck seemed to be on his damn side for when he threw open the door, she was right there. "Fucking, hell," he stated as he just stared at her, annoyance present in him but his expression quickly turned into that of a smirk. "Not taking clients are you?" He questioned rhetorically. She would take him . . . or rather, he would take her.

i have sworn TO DO VERY FOOLISH THINGS While Vaughn thoroughly enjoyed being at sea, there were certain . . . negatives to it. Not enough to ever keep Vaughn grounded on land, but certainly enough to make him appreciate these pleasures when he docked his ship and made way into the city. His crew were just as deprived as he was so it was fairly unanimous as to where their first stop would be. They burst through the doors, the men piling in as the obnoxious sound of their excitement added noise to the now full brothel. Though, even if it was full before . . . Vaughn would make an attempt to throw whomever out to make sure his men had priority. A happy crew was a more useful crew. But Vaughn, had standards . . . sometimes. He would not go for the first women he saw for here, they had selection. They had choices. One did not just go for the first horse they lay witness to; and sometimes the best way to affirm ones decision . . . was to ride it.
He went to the Madam of the brothel, recognized by her older age and the way she stood separate from the hungry men around them. "I want your best," he practically demanded, throwing a few coins down. As he spoke to her however, he just so happened to lay his eyes on what he could easily deduce . . . was the most beautiful creature in the entire room. His lips curled into a smile, as he did not bother waiting for the owner to respond to him. Instead, he began to approach the dark haired woman. As he drew nearer his eyes slowly moved over her, taking in every inch of her sensual body and pausing at the parts that made her a woman. He ran his tongue over his lips before his leering eyes eventually met her face once more. "You'll do," he said in a bit of a condescending tone of voice. Oh yes. She most certainly would do . . . whatever he wanted.
